Shake Shack never disappoints. This location especially is such a nice spot, with the lake out back where you can sit and actually enjoy the view while you eat. There's even a ping pong table outside if you want something fun to do while you're hanging out. We usually swing by when we're shopping at Trader Joe's in the same plaza, and it's become part of the routine. Food-wise, I always go for the Shroom Burger. It's a giant fried mushroom stuffed with gooey, melty cheese, and it hits every time. If I'm extra hungry, I'll add a patty and eat the "shroom" separately, eating the burger as normal. The fries are consistently good, and the custard is the perfect finish. It satisfies that fast food craving but feels a step up in quality. Many friends and I dined here on a Friday evening. To avoid the chaos of the parking lot, we parked in the parking garage behind Chuy's and walked over. It's a cheeseburger topped with applewood-smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. The sweet heat from the cherry peppers really hits the spot. Occasionally, this burger is BOGO on UberEats which really makes for a quick lunch for me & my husband at a great value. We split an order of fries and sometimes even a shake to round out the meal. I'm not a huge fan of their fries, but they need to bring back their BBQ seasoned fried they had for a limited time. Those were the best ones I've had there. The cheese fries are pretty good if you can eat them immediately while they're fresh. Otherwise they just get cold & soggy. I tried their crispy chicken bites for the first time recently, and I'm really impressed with the flavor. If I get a shake, I usually go for one of their seasonal flavors like key lime pie or peaches & cream. I know they just released their holiday shakes which I have yet to try. When you first walk in, you will head to the self-serve kiosk to place your order on one of the tablets. You will get a number and find a table. Once your food is ready, someone will bring it to you. My go-to is the classic single ShackBurger with bacon and no cheese. You can get a double (two patties) if you'd like, but that's too much for me. I also like their fries, but this time, for some reason, they didn't taste good, maybe it was the oil? I got lemonade, which is one of my favorites. We sat indoors facing the lake; it was too hot at lunchtime to sit outside. However, the area felt warmer than the rest of the restaurant. 4.5 Returning after four years, it's a Sunday at 11:36am. Walked in, and a bunch of folks are self ordering from the kiosks and totally blocking the menu on the wall. Seriously. One of the employees helped me place my order for an avocado bacon double cheeseburger ($13) and a soft drink ($3). That burger was absolutely delicious with thick pieces of fresh avocado and also with bacon that was not overly fried, just like I love it. The beef is well seasoned, so it's not bland while the bread is tender to bite into. Having never visited any Shake Shack location previously, I wasn't sure what to expect. Being a vegetarian, I always experience a natural hesitation when checking out a new burger joint. All doubts faded away as soon as I took a bite out of my 'Shroom Burger, which consists of a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses as well as lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. There's two things I need to point out: 1)The portobello mushroom is seriously crispy, which was a very pleasant surprise as I've found that most establishments tend to leave a soft, non-crisp 'shroom just past the breading. This one however, was crispy all the way through and I loved it! 2) The 'shroom itself is filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses. You read that right, it's not simply that the burger has cheese, but the cheese is stuffed inside the mushroom. Score!! I also had a glass of wine, which was new to me as I've never been to any burger joint that served alcoholic beverages, so this was delightfully unexpected. All in all, I had a great experience. All of our food got to us and appropriate temperature and our order was correct. My husband and I split the double black truffle burger, black truffle parmesan fries, and a cherry blossom shake. It was definitely enough food for both of us. The burgers were nice and crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, we're loaded with toppings, and bursting with flavor. The black truffle fries were hot and crispy with a good amount of the truffle dipping sauce. The cherry blossom shake was perfectly creamy, lightly floral, and definitely hit the spot. Our only complaint would be that it was probably the greasiest burger we had ever eaten which made the bun a bit soggy, but other than that it was amazing.
