I was in the area and decided to try the Shake Shack in Winter Park. I hadn't been to this location before. It's a large location. Note it is in a plaza with several other businesses so it could get crowded with the parking situation. I was early so I didn't have a problem. You order on the kiosks and then grab a number and a seat and they bring it you. The ordering process is pretty straightforward. I got the Shackburger and the fries with cheese and the Chocolate Pistachio Dubai shake. Everything is made to order so the food was warm and fresh. The burger was well cooked with the crispy char at the ends. I got the fries with cheese which were delicious. And the shake was rich and creamy. Honestly probably bc the parking lot is such a nightmare (I'm looking at you Trader Joe's) that my goals are to get in and out without a vehicular disaster and not to hang out and grab a bite. Shake Shack never disappoints. This location especially is such a nice spot, with the lake out back where you can sit and actually enjoy the view while you eat. There's even a ping pong table outside if you want something fun to do while you're hanging out. We usually swing by when we're shopping at Trader Joe's in the same plaza, and it's become part of the routine. Food-wise, I always go for the Shroom Burger. It's a giant fried mushroom stuffed with gooey, melty cheese, and it hits every time. If I'm extra hungry, I'll add a patty and eat the "shroom" separately, eating the burger as normal. The fries are consistently good, and the custard is the perfect finish. It satisfies that fast food craving but feels a step up in quality. This time, there was a fantastic employee who was checking on tables and making sure everyone was taken care of. When my husband and I came into the Winter Park Shake Shack, we were greeted by Tocosha, a very friendly young lady. My husband shared banter with her back and forth. ( in my opinion, employees who are friendly up front and you can tell that they are sincere-- that is an "A" in my book! ) Insteadof using the kiosks, Tocosha offered to put our order in at the register. We found out that she's worked there for a decade - - - her manager either needs to promote her or give her a good raise!! Anyhow, before we sat down at a table , I went to pick up one of the kids' coloring pages, and another employee (a gentleman) offered me several pages and some crayons --- I still like to color at my age. We were brought our food a few minutes later, and it was really good! We both got milkshakes, and my seasonal one for Valentines Day was delicious! Hubby had a hamburger and I had the chicken sandwich! Yummmmm! The gentleman checked on us a few times after that. Ambiance... a bit noisy maybe in part due to the ceiling, and due to the fact that we were eating inside-- several families were nearby with kids. There is outdoor seating , with a view of the lake, which looked nice! Parking: it is at a premium in the parking lot shared by several businesses, along with Trader Joe's ( and some of Trader Joe's parking spaces were fenced in due to something) . In not so many words about the parking situation, it tends to be horrible in our book. If parking wasn't an issue, we would be coming there more often when we take a day trip to Winter Park/Orlando area. First off, the outdoor lakeside views at this location are off the charts and now that the weather is starting to cool down, al fresco dining is sounding very appealing. Is the parking lot shared with Trader Joe's and other businesses an absolute nightmare? Yes. But at least the peaceful view makes up for it. Occasionally, this burger is BOGO on UberEats which really makes for a quick lunch for me & my husband at a great value. We split an order of fries and sometimes even a shake to round out the meal. I'm not a huge fan of their fries, but they need to bring back their BBQ seasoned fried they had for a limited time. Those were the best ones I've had there. The cheese fries are pretty good if you can eat them immediately while they're fresh. Otherwise they just get cold & soggy. I tried their crispy chicken bites for the first time recently, and I'm really impressed with the flavor. If I get a shake, I usually go for one of their seasonal flavors like key lime pie or peaches & cream. I know they just released their holiday shakes which I have yet to try. My go-to is the classic single ShackBurger with bacon and no cheese. You can get a double (two patties) if you'd like, but that's too much for me. We sat indoors facing the lake; it was too hot at lunchtime to sit outside. However, the area felt warmer than the rest of the restaurant. That burger was absolutely delicious with thick pieces of fresh avocado and also with bacon that was not overly fried, just like I love it. The beef is well seasoned, so it's not bland while the bread is tender to bite into. Having never visited any Shake Shack location previously, I wasn't sure what to expect. Being a vegetarian, I always experience a natural hesitation when checking out a new burger joint. All doubts faded away as soon as I took a bite out of my 'Shroom Burger, which consists of a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses as well as lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. There's two things I need to point out: 1)The portobello mushroom is seriously crispy, which was a very pleasant surprise as I've found that most establishments tend to leave a soft, non-crisp 'shroom just past the breading. This one however, was crispy all the way through and I loved it! 2) The 'shroom itself is filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses. You read that right, it's not simply that the burger has cheese, but the cheese is stuffed inside the mushroom. Score!! I also had a glass of wine, which was new to me as I've never been to any burger joint that served alcoholic beverages, so this was delightfully unexpected. All in all, I had a great experience. It was definitely enough food for both of us. The burgers were nice and crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, we're loaded with toppings, and bursting with flavor. The black truffle fries were hot and crispy with a good amount of the truffle dipping sauce. The cherry blossom shake was perfectly creamy, lightly floral, and definitely hit the spot. Our only complaint would be that it was probably the greasiest burger we had ever eaten which made the bun a bit soggy, but other than that it was amazing.
