If you've been to any other Steak N Shake, then you know what you're getting. Drive Thru or Dine In are your options. I prefer the onion rings to fries and the shakes are pretty darn good. My biggest gripe with this location is the service. I've been there a couple of times lately, and it take forever to get served and they make multiple mistakes. They need some operational improvement on their workforce all all should be good to go for this location. read more

The service when dining in can be a bit slow, but I won't complain too much, seeing as it is one of the few places open 24 hours in town. I am giving it two stars because the shakes are OK. The burgers are always burnt. I have been there a few times over the years, and expressly tell them not to burn the burgers, but they are always extra crispy burgers. Extra chewy, extra burnt. The wait in the drive thru is usually twenty minutes or more. The lane is blocked in by a concrete curb, so once you are in the drive-thru line, you are stuck. Then once you order the food, it takes them another ten minutes to burn it, and you have to wait at the front of the restaurant for someone to deliver it. The front of this Steak n Shake is filthy. This place should get pressure washed or mopped with bleach outside every day. It looks like it gets washed once a year. read more

I guess I should not have expected too much from Steak 'n Shake. My wife and I stopped in for a quick meal on the way home from visiting friends. After being seated in our booth, no one stopped by to take our order until I was able get someone's attention. The waitress took our order and 15 minutes later I saw what looked like our order sitting under the heat lamps. After 10 more minutes, my wife went up and checked, and sure enough, it was our order. When she finally got the food to the table, it was quite cool. The waitress took the order back to the kitchen. 10 more minutes later the same food reappeared -- not much warmer than when we last saw it. Each of us took one bite, and agreed it was the same old same old. We left and spoke to the manager. He seemed mildly concerned. We will avoid Steak 'n Shakes in the future. read more

The WORST Steak n' Shake I've been too. First time I went with my roommate, we waited almost 20 minutes in the drive way (not sure if they had to go to the grocery store to get supplies). My roommate's burger bread was burned. They gave us only 2 packets of ketchup for both of our orders. I went again by myself for the second time thinking it might just be a one time thing. I had a coupon and it says I get one side so I asked what side I could get. The person who was taking the order said "you can get a, b, c, and d". So I responded "let me get b". Her response was "you can't get b". I was a little confused so I said "let me get c then". She said "you can't get c either". Why would you offer it if I can not get it??? I asked what my total was after placing the order. She said "I can't give you the price until I scan the coupon". After I pulled up to the window to pay, she said "$19.55". I was like "why is it so much?" She responded "WHAT?" I was really annoyed at that point so I said "why is my order almost $20?" My family loves a good Steak & Shake cheat meal on vacation, and this chain has never failed to deliver, but I would advise on skipping this location. Go elsewhere for your late night burgers/shakes cravings or suffer the consequences. Just as the other reviews have illuminated, the service is quite poor and the manager doesn't care. Last night at 11pm the potbellied manager took my EXACT change, placed it in the register, and then told me I gave him the wrong amount. I'm not one to engage in a heated argument over an insignificant amount especially before we received our order, so I let it go. We ordered six shakes. All the to-go cups where sticky, should have been wiped down before serving. None of the employees could tell us which one was which. Luckily this was a family trip, so tasting them wasn't an issue, but it's really unprofessional and irresponsible for any restaurant to make the customer guess on which shake belongs to them. read more

When I walked in, there was no menu to be seen. I had to ask to see a menu. I watched the cook smash the burgers and thought he will smash all the juice out of the burger, which he did. When we finally got the food, it was not worth the wait. My burger was burnt to a char, and the fries tasted like tapeworms. I grew up eating this fast food, and not having had it in years, dragged my family there aT 2pm, on a Monday. It was very crowded so we had to wait 15 min for a table and while we did we started to notice how short staffed they were. While it seemed as though there were 4 workers in the dining room, only one worker was actually waiting on tables-ALL the tables by herself-and she was doing an amazing job. When she was finally able to seat us we told her what a great job she was doing and she went on to explain about staffing and recent training issuess. I took the family there last night, then I remembered why I stopped going there last Fall. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...I'm guessing at least 3 managers and as many assistant managers. So, with at least 6 management personnel how is it that the restaurant runs out of Whipped Cream and Vinegar? Steak and SHAKE (as in milkshake)...ran out of whipped cream. Unbelievable. Wife and M-I-L get seated and order while I finish up a call and park the car. I join the table and order. 10 minutes later my order (1 hamburger on a plate) arrives, is placed in front of me. A second server approaches the table, says something to server #1, my plate is picked up and taken, somewhere. A few minutes later the whole order is served including my cold hamburger. Last Winter I took my crew there several times after work (10:00 PM) and it became a standing joke "how will they screw up our order tonight"? EVERY night something: No cheese please...cheese. Banana/strawberry milkshake... chocolate arrives. A whole tray of drinks dropped on a lap. There is an "art" to removing one full glass from a tray of several while holding a tray with one hand. We enjoy Steak and Shake and frequent them often. The Naples restaurant is consistently struggling with personnel and service. Perhaps a visit from "Undercover Boss" is in order. The only thing that saves this experience from being a 0 was the great burger. Been eating at steak n shakes around country for years, this was by far worst experience. Staff, not trained, not going into details, just not trained, shirt he was wearing looked liked it had been in laundry a couple of times. Guy working in back who I think I were working drive through came out in apron that was so so dirty. Smell of raw sewage in the dining room just outside of the restrooms that carried out into the main part of sing room. French fries, have had fresher that had been picked up in drive through and taken home a half hour away from where they were picked up. Oh and the chili? We are full-time residennts of Naples and unfortunately this steak and shake is not up to par. About every three or four months we decide to give them one more chance just because we love their food and milkshakes. I am sorry to say that of the five times we have visited they have never gotten our order correct and it has always been extremely slow service. One time, I was trapped waiting in the drive-through for 55 minutes. When I got up to pay the cashier didn't have a clue how long I had waited, I had to tell him and then pressed him and he finally gave me a 10% discount. Last night, my husband took my kids through the drive-through and of course they got the order wrong.I grew up along route 66 and have a nostalgia for steak and shake restaurants however I will never patronize this restaurant again. I love this place. I moved to Naples in June from NJ, and discovered this 24 hr location and thank god i Did because its so hard to find decent hot food after 10pm here. I have a penchant for onion rings and they do a pretty good ring for price. I actually pride myself on rating onon rings and must say better than applebees or any other chain. Moreover, they have awesome breakfast food like pancakes, eggs etc starting at 12am YEAH. I get hungry then and what better option than eggs and bacon with biscuit to fill my tummy. Also tried their hot dogs and pleased by beef nature, no pork.Shakes are awesome, please try bannana shakes, i put choc pieces in mine ,and shake had fresh bannanas in there. Half priced at 2am. Well what else can i say but i come here once a week not just for food, but great friendly staff thanks staff for your hospitality. The food is delicious, but there's always something wrong with the service when I go there. The first time, they forgot the mayo on my chicken sandwich...Which would have been fine if they hadn't taken 20 minutes to get it for me. This time, the hot food came out in a timely fashion, but the shakes that were ordered at the same time took 45 minutes. Ok I think that the end of my Steak 'n Shake in Naples last 2 times cold burgers cheese didn't even melt now I did have to drive home but it is only 5 minutes away so should not have been like that, but the best was asked for everything on the burger I would have thought that meant ketchup and mustard I got the lettuce which was gross tomato pickles and onions but that was it nothing else. Dirty dishes completely covered the counter, and dozens of empty ketchup bottles were all around the service area. Apparently there was question as to who was supposed to refill these, so they just left them lying around.
