Perkins was a recent option when we were trying to find a place to have lunch, so we decided to give it a try. Walking in, the restaurant was clean and not crowded. Our server came promptly and took our drink order. Being famished after a morning spent doing yard work, I went for one of their skillet meals, hubs decided on the pot roast sandwich with soup. We didn't have a long wait, the food came quickly and was good. Ok, the skillet dish was a little bland but a dash or two of Tabasco sauce added a bit more flavor. Hubs liked the pot roast sandwich and soup. The menu has a variety of options for sandwiches and dinners, and the restaurant reminded me a lot of Marie Callender's, including their desserts. Perkins is a local staple. You know what you're going to get when you go in. Luckily, we were able to run in for a quick breakfast and not have to wait an extremely long time. They have definitely perfected their kitchen times because people were in and out quite quickly. The best part of the Perkins experience is the muffin. I love that a muffin can be added instead of toast, the only bummer is that the muffins don't come grilled anymore. That was always a special treat and added so much to the already flavorful muffin. Amazing how one server can make or break your experience. Well today was a break. To start with she wasn't friendly, and the sunday rush was just starting. Not welcoming and seemed annoyed we were there. Taking our order was like a bitter pill to swallow for her, we do not know why. Maybe she should go back to bed. She had time to chat with another table about her personal life but not attend to others' needs. Toast never came till eggs were cold. Had to wave her down as she wouldn't check on our table or the others nearby. Waited for her at every turn. Never returned and checked on any table, not just ours. If we did not have a positive experience before we wouldn't return. Was there for my free birthday breakfast, love the club you can join, desserts are reasonably priced and yummy. She realized that the place was virtually empty (on a Sunday night) and she made the most of it. The portion sizes are fine for this type of restaurant. I'm a little torn on this review as I hate giving a bad review due to the negative impact it can have, but feel this one is necessary for management to read and correct. So after my daughters soccer game at the Vineyads Park we originally decided to check in at Hooters around the corner but the wife and daughter wanted pancakes so we chose Perkins next door instead. Going into the place it was well lit, quite and not to busy with plenty of staff onsite. The Place is spacious with plenty of parking outside. The good part of the experience was that our server was really nice and friendly and was accommodating to our every need. For that, I give two stars on the review but that's where it ends. I ordered my daughter the kids Mac & Cheese off the kids menu and it came out super dry with the noodles clumped together as though it was microwaved. I let the server know and she immediately brought it back to the kitchen. We heard the cook yelling at the server over the returned order and it went back and forth for like 10 minutes. Very uncomfortable for us and apologized to the waitress for having it returned. The wife ordered pancakes which came out overdone and burnt looking and the bread on my Patty Melt was not seared and soggy slathering my hands in butter. We chose to not send them back after my daughters Mac & Cheese ordeal. While eating I grabbed the salt from the condiment section and immediately noticed the metal was completely rusted on the bottom with shavings on the table. To make things worse, there were a lot of small ants crawling all over our table and window sill. If that wasn't enough, I moved the condiment tray further away and sure enough flies started flying around on our food and condiments. At this point I told the wife we need to get out of here as this was totally unacceptable! We ended up paying the check and did tip 20% to our server as she was the only good thing to our experience. I did let management know but they really didn't have an answer for what I told them and simply replied, pest control comes once a week. I certainly hope management reads this and corrects it ASAP! I guarantee if the health inspector came in there would be citations flying left and right. I will definitely choose a different location in the future. read more

Pies are bad but it is 100% a better idea than going to the Waffle House or iHop down the street. The cook here is actually pretty good I've never had a bad meal. The service is whatever. It's a typical old person dining place but is nicer looking than a bob evens. They're good about sanitizing tables. read more

Chicken tender melt. Seriously, stop reading this and go get a chicken tenders melt. They may have changed the name to a chicken strips melt. If that's the case then order the chicken strips melt. I highly recommend the chicken tender OR chicken strips melt. Get the fried breaded chicken with bacon and cheese on sourdough with a side of ranch. Comes with fries too. But the sandwich, the chicken one I mentioned previously, is great. Went here recently with my mother and future mother-in-law for breakfast. The latter loves their pancakes. I got the chicken tender melt. The one I mentioned before. My mother ordered a combination of eggs, sausage and hash browns. We all loved our meals but I feel I enjoyed my chicken tender melt the most. It comes with ranch for dipping. Staff was kind and courteous. From our server to the gentleman Kyle who was at the register to cash us out. I regretfully forget the servers name but she did a great job bringing me my chicken tender melt and side of ranch. Great new menu! Never had anything bad here. Service is always good and hardly ever a wait. I don't give 5's very often any more but for cost, taste and service Perkins delivers in my opinion. I had the new baconzilla burger which had 2 Angus patties, American cheese, applewood smoked bacon, bacon jam and all the dressings. This was really good. I was kind of feeling uneasy about ordering here based on other reviews, but I don't have any negative feedback to leave. I like Perkins a lot. I know it's a chain restaurant, but the food at this one is very good. I'm big on the Everything omelet, and their breakfast potatoes (crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside) are soooooooo goooooooooooood! The atmosphere is typical. Nothing too fancy or drab, with inexpensive, mis-matched artwork on the walls. There are 3 different areas, all which are well-lit and open (so you can't be forgotten about), and they have the capacity to seat large parties. The wait staff is attentive, even when busy. 99.9% of the time, the food comes out perfect (although the cooks still haven't mastered what "double ham, double onion, double cheese" means when it comes to creating your own omelet. Ingredients are usually lacking, according to my fiance.) Weekends they're packed, especially during snowbird "season" (October - March/April). If you get there between 9 and 11, you're likely looking at a 15-20 minute wait, which isn't bad in comparison to other restaurants ... Just play a few rounds of Donkey Kong on their vintage arcade machine, and time passes quickly. =) read more

There are some bigoted waitstaff there. Not the POC. One in particular has waited on me before and I tipped very generously both times I was seated in her section. The way she talks w other tables it's obvious. And it's to the point that something must be said. I hate to be mean but........this place is gross. Do yourselves a favor and just stay away. I have been to Perkins before years ago. Had a delicious salad in a never-ending bread bowl. It was memorable. This is why I suggested it for an early morning breakfast for me, my husband and my 15 month old well behaved son. Don't go in there with a small child. The staff looks at you like "Oh no!... a baby! lets get them in and out of here as quickly as possible to avoid any problems with any other customers" He wasn't crying at all. He is learning to talk and exploring the world. Everyone thought he was cute and stopping to say hello on their way to the bathroom that's how damn close they sat us to to it. we could smell the urine as we sat waiting for our food watching the staff give us snarky dirty looks just for having our child with us. How dare we? Our waitress was very nice, I will give her that but she rushed us so much and threw the check at us when she handed us our plates and mine wasn't even complete. But when I got the looks of it, I was already finished. It was so slimy and disgusting. My husbands eggs weren't cooked and had egg shells in them. Come on guys!! you can't crack an egg. culinary school 101!!! I know. I attended! If you can't crack an egg right, get out! They are known for being a decent breakfast chain. But not this location. Cheese on egg wasn't even melted. Bacon pancake and 4 or 5 small crumbs on a stack of 3 plain pancakes. The syrup came out watery because the washing fluid somehow seeped into the cap. We asked for another. The replacement was syrupy as one would expect. I had the Florentine skillet. It was not bad. We've been going there forever, always been ok... last night there was little black round beetles in the bottom of our Ice Tea's, not just one glass, but 2 and hair wrapped up in the silverware. Totally disgusting and they continued to serve Ice Tea to other customers. Server didn't know about menu, MOD didn't care, got a lousy 20% off meal, oh... but they didn't charge us for the 2 Ice Tea's... how kind of them ugh. Place has really gone down hill. Need new management, needs Health Department to go in and inspect. Beware!!!!!! read more
