This place was complete shit. Food was awful, my ribeye steak was not a ribeye and it was cooked to death. The hashbrowns were way too greasy and the yolk from my over medium eggs were busted. The coffee tasted like sewage water and wasn't strong at all, I actually over heard the customer behind me complain about the coffee as well. The service was terrible, she brought the check as soon as she brought our food, then never returned. We never got refills. when we were paying our bill the lady ringing us up was sitting there chit chatting with another customer while dealing with our order. I went to the restroom and it was the equivalent of using a Porta potty. There was a garbage can next to the toilet with all the tissue paper in it with "waste" on it. This place is great!!! Huge parking lot, quick seating, the waitresses are all very nice and consistent in checking up on customers. Its cash only but not to worry!!! They have an atm on sight. It is a shame there is no zero star rating on yelp for my past experience and this dive is surely worthy of a no star rating. I have been to the Steak n Egger several times before and it was fine. This morning I had the worst diner experience of my life. My girlfriend and I got a simple order, one biscuits and gravy, and one cheese and mushroom omelet. Her biscuits and gravy came cold. The waitress apologized and said it was because they just made the gravy. How did they just make it cold? The next cause for concern came when I discovered eggshells in my omelet. But no big deal it happens to the best of us. I forget the eggshell and finish my coffee. I then notice at the bottom of my ceramic diner mug a long crack, however after swishing the coffee remnants in my mug the crack also moved. It moved because it was not a crack but a long black hair that belonged to neither my girlfriend or I. The waitress saw me pull it from my mug and embarrassedly offered us Styrofoam cups. After using some table salt on my hash browns and the rest of my omelet, I notice some brown things buried in the salt container. Sometimes restaurants will put rice in the salt to absorb humidity. After shaking the salt around to get a better view I discovered that it was not brown rice but the two back legs of a large insect (most likely a cockroach). How those legs got into the salt I have no idea. The waitress asked us how the rest of our meal was and we showed her the salt container. She quickly took it so we couldn't gather photographic evidence. A few moments later a cook walks out and aggressively tells us that we need to come back at 6:00 am tomorrow to talk to the manager. Upset and nauseous we were ready to leave. At the front counter they told us they would comp us the coffee and only charge us for what we ate. We didn't think we should have to pay for the worst dining experience we have ever endured. They told us they have to charge us for the food, and the salt wasn't an issue because it wasn't in the food. A cook standing behind the cash register kept telling us that the legs in the salt were all in our heads.They stated that they couldn't refund us anything because the manager wasn't there. Okay, my parents and I have be going to this establishment since I was young, never had complaints or talks of any bad service. The waitresses were always alert and kind. Today was a whole different story, I don't know whether it was the staff that seemed to be new, or the fact that it was packed...(it was not.) We walked in, sat down and waited to be attended. Customers just arriving occupied tables with used plates/leftovers on various tables, left by previous customers. Customers baffled on why it's taking so long to receive a menu and the noticeable confusion in the kitchen area. This experience was really disappointing, to say the least. The staff was all over the place, and yet no where at the same time. After noticing all this within the first 20 minutes, I thought "hey, cut them some slack, right?" First of all, the diner is tiny, second it's packed.. (No it's not) and third it seems like they're training someone one new. But none of the waitresses seemed like they cared, two started to wash the stacks of dirty dishes, the other two were off helping the cook, and the newbie standing at the cash register. Finally we were able to get the attention of a waitress and after cleaning off the table of the used plates left by the previous customers .. She took our order! At this point I really did not know why I was still there. Maybe I thought the food would redeem what had been demonstrated at that point in time.... I was wrong. The pancakes.. Cold, the bacon... Cold. I don't know how the eggs managed to stay warm. The pancakes I ordered for my niece.. Cold. Even my niece denied the pancakes. The omelette looked like something I could've made at home..
