Update 2026: After 3 years I've terminated service with Tartan Pools. This last half year has been…read morenothing but problems for us. Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs. Very sad I liked this company.

Over the past two months, the service has been consistently unacceptable. I've had to provide pictures of my clean filters and also provide video footage from my security cameras multiple times to prove that scheduled visits were never completed. On another occasion, an employee falsely claimed they came to my home when they did not, and once again I had to rely on camera footage to prove it. Despite this, there was no meaningful follow-up, and my pool was left in poor condition over the 4th of July weekend. What's even more concerning is that when it came time to honor the "free month" they advertised, my service was cancelled instead. Promising a promotion and then cancelling service when it's time to deliver on it is not just disappointing--it's misleading. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to think twice. There is a lot of options out there than to deal with a company like this.

We decided to use Blue Wave on the recommendation of our daughter's father in law who had had a…read morereally nice pool built. We also did our due diligence and got quotes and proposals by a couple of other pool builders. Steve came out to measure up and do our pool design. He listened to everything we said and was able to incorporate it all into a beautiful pool. We love our backyard, and because we have a good sized side yard that is where we wanted to put it, even with the zero lot line design of our community's houses Steve was able to do this in a way that worked well. We were looking for a pool that my husband could do laps in, I could float around in, and our grandkids could play in-with a seat down the entire length of one side, along with a big bench area. The pool in total was 40ft x 10.5ft, and included a waterfall, and we added on additional travertine decking and a pergola. Once we had decided on the design, Steve went through every single feature and pool option to make sure we knew what each item was and what would work best for us, to get our final quote. After signing the contract, the most annoying part of the process commenced. This was not the fault of Blue Wave, we just happen to live in a county island so Maricopa County was in charge of issuing the pool permit-with the longest waits for approval, and it didn't help that we were also building a golf cart garage at the same time. Other cities in metro Phoenix will allow for the hole to be dug prior to the permit being issued so they get a head start and reduce the total length of time for the whole process from start to finish-not so in a county island. However, as they will tell you, pool construction will take 6-8 months from the time you have your hole dug. For us it was 6 months. Yes, it is frustrating to have piles of earth around the construction area, but there's nothing you can do about that. What I will say about Blue Wave is that we found all the subcontractors to be excellent. I talked to all of them while they were doing their thing. It's a fascinating process to watch. They were all very respectful of our property and cleaned up afterwards. All the contractors showed up when we were told they were coming. Even when there were a couple of hiccups, as there will inevitably be in a large construction project, they were quickly dealt with. Blue Wave was great about me changing my mind about the pool tile a couple of times during this, and when I was still agonizing about my choice (I was a bit particular) they were able to bring out an extra selection of tiles that had one I absolutely loved. They also made a couple of other changes for us during the process with no problem in doing so-we changed to colored lights and expanded the travertine and the size of the pergola. The pool is now finished, we are just waiting for an ozone bulb to be replaced and the trim on the pergola legs to be installed imminently. The pool looks fantastic, better than we expected, and we can't wait to take our first dip in it. Michelle who supervised the schedule, and put up with my emails, was fantastic. She was very responsive to any questions we had. If she didn't answer an email the same day, she got back to me the following day. Jason and Shane the construction superintendents were also great. They were able to answer any questions we had when they came to do their inspections. Steve came up with the perfect design for our particular space and needs. John the company owner called us personally when one of our options was unavailable for the time of installation due to supply chain issues, and suggested a comparable alternative so there would be no delays, which we were happy to take. It's a bit of a nerve wracking process, and not without a lot of dirt in your yard, but I would choose Blue Wave again in a heartbeat to build our pool. Thank you Blue Wave, my pictures don't do it justice. Hi
