Make sure that you cross all t's and dot all i's prior to renting from this company. Thay are very sneaky while over promising and under delivering. They have raised my rate twice in a year by $60.00. I have 2 other units with a different company and they have raised the rate by $10.00 in 8 years. They also entered my unit without my knowledge or permission. They claim I was notified but there are no emails or messages backing their claim. I explained that I am disabled senior and that the new amount would crush me financially. They really didn't care. I spoke with the DM (Gary) and VP (Bob) via messages and their excuse was that I am under the market value which means nothing to me. They, like most companies are only after profits. I am only giving any stars at all because of their FORMER manager Mathew. He was an excellent manager. My opinion anyways. MADy on the other hand was pathetic. I was moving out of my unit of over 2 years, and planned on having everything gone and the space cleaned 2 days before my rent was up. Unfortunately, I came down with the COVID and it hit me pretty hard. I called and had the displeasure of speaking to their new manager, MADy. I asked her for a 3 day extension because I could barely get out of bed. Her answer was, "if you are not gone by the day that was selected, you WILL be charged for the entire month." I explained my situation, but she absolutely did not care. She kept interrupting me and talking over me when I TRIED to ask why. She was incredulous, and I have to say, mean. I told her I'd have a chat with the 'higher-ups' and she told me it wouldn't do any good. The next day I got a hold of the assistant regional manager and he could not have been nicer. When I told him I had the COVID that was all he needed to hear. Gave me the extension and was super kind to me. I asked him to contact MADy and tell her not to charge me, and he guaranteed he would. The day I showed up to empty the last of my stuff, all the moving carts were missing...I'm thinking not a coincidence. I've been in and out of that place for more than 2 years, and that was the only time EVERY SINGLE CART wasn't readily available. And yes, I was the only person in the building at the time. If you are looking for a storage unit and you run into some damp gym-sock named MADy at the desk, you would be better off burning yer crap in the desert. Much less aggravation. read more

I am very happy, I just rented a 5x6 storage unit and the price was very reasonable consider it's still considered a brand new facility and everything is still gorgeous it smells new too! Super clean and it also comes with a free automatic Bluetooth lock. I love It here the location the service and the priced! I have never been treated so well and the customer is valued here, too. Do not use this place! Our unit was broken into as well as several others. They are being unresponsive and difficult to work with regarding the break in. The on-site people have no clue about anything and no access to security cameras. Not being able to use your own lock and solely relying on their system leaves your things very vulnerable. read more

Had my unit for almost a week and it got broken into. I wasn't notified for 24 hours. Apparently apparently 6 units got broken into that night somebody had propped open one of the doors that was not secured electronically. They did not even call the sheriff's. One of the other clients that was broken into called to have their stuff fingerprinted and note what was stolen. Management did not even know until one of their other clients came into the office and said they had been broken into. They have video cameras I don't know why they don't review them regularly. The manager said that they would have an on site security guard until the system was updated and more secure. A couple of us have gone past their nightly and have not seen any sign of security. There is however a u-haul truck that somebody is living in on the South-West side of the building. read more

This place is an embarrassment. Do not use this facility. It's not safe. It's not secure. It's not clean. "Management" will use passive aggressive tactics to ruin your stay instead of proactive and productive skills to better your life. Upper management will not call you back. The place is absolutely filthy. The homeless come out of the woods and steal your things, do drugs, try to fight you, break into your units and your cars and prop the doors open to party all night long. However, the people who pay rent and use the facility for what it's built for will be met with fines such as trash pick up. Pictured below you will see a giant box of trash that the manager ran over in her truck. I'm sure I will somehow get a $25, $50 or eviction notice because of it. Don't spend any extra time loading your items or you'll go to detention and be restricted to office hours. Which in turn means nothing because there's nobody actually there doing anything. However, if you smoke meth and steal things than you and 59 of your friends can prop the door open and throw parties in other peoples units until the daylight. The word "management" must really mean something to this company but it's means absolutely nothing to the people using the facility. This is the worst I've ever been treated by any company that I have paid and they subsequently don't have to do anything. However, they feel it necessary to post ( I have pictures and documentEd proof) false advertising and sign contracts under false pretenses by saying that they are a 24/7 facility. Far from it but the credit card companies and claims people seem to think it's just enough to get a refund and cut ties with this horrendous establishment. Why does it have to come to this? Why does the manger have to drive her big ole 4x4 pickup up to you and explain once again that she's a manager. She doesn't help. She kicks you out of her office just when you almost got the internet figured out so you can login to the amazingly annoying and spotty app. This was of tyranny is maniacal, it won't last and the people who run companies in this way finish last. Coaches that scream all the time don't know what they're talking about. As an organizational psychologist, I am sad that this place still exists and employees people of this caliber to continue to think they what they're doing is actually the correct way, starting screaming matches with clients is ok, and making this us vs them propaganda an actual way in which modern society works in an industry that is predominantly based on customer service. Underskilled, underpaid but over titled mayhem that lets the animals run the farm. Not one thing that goes on at Lakeside makes any sense. Go to U Stor it. Preferably North Park. This place is an absolute joke, and someone is going to end up getting seriously hurt with the hooligans allowed to roam the premises. Sad.sad.sad. read more

Amazingly clean and secure storage units, and the ease of using the phone app to open the front door and the unit itself was awesome. We just moved from a StaxUP unit (for 1.5 yrs) to another company closer to our home, and after checking out other closer companies, we realized we just won't find another one as nice as StaxUP. Matthew, the manager, is so helpful and friendly, always a pleasure to see. He is a great example of how to run a storage facility. My husband and I are sad to leave StaxUP, and will refer often. You will not find another storage facility like StaxUP- best around by far. read more

this place never has an actual employee on site. the system they use on your phones if great but no one is ever there to help. i was just there and had to call another location to have someone come out and they had an attitude the whole time. they were supposed to be there earlier because another customer had already called and said they were on their way and needed help getting into their storage and the lady we spoke to said that they should have called earlier when they already had. the place itself is great but the customer service is absolutely awful. they need to get for staff. read more

Newage of tech installed is user friendly and secure. The facility is remarkably clean. The units are climate controlled and the facility stays cooler than any other storages I've used in San Diego. The staff is always professional and present to during office hours. Use of the newest technologies might seem confusing to some but Madelynn ( the manager) makes the process easy to understand and is very informative of any questions you may have.
