A friend and I picked this spot as a halfway point to have a lunch. I really didn't do much looking into the food or atmosphere. It was purely a good geographic location. Well, I have to say I was blown away. I expected a roadside, forgettable food experience, but nope. This place has food that's so well prepared and clean. The salt amount was perfect, not too much, not too little. Everything tasted well balanced and well made. Totally impressed and very much recommend. I left feeling satisfied and not weighed down. Fully belly, happy tummy, and a bit embarrassed about my judgement before visiting. Very attractive building and interior, good place to stop on 17 if you're still an hour away from home. The only reason my review is less than perfect is because we stopped by on an early afternoon, maybe 3-4pm, and they were already out of the ribs. We were in the area and it happened to be our son's 17th birthday. He was searching online for dinner options and came across Station 17. After reviewing the menu, he told us this sounded like a good spot, and we were not disappointed. We shared a couple of appetizers including the Blue Crab bites which tasted great. Among the four of us, we had the gumbo, fish & shrimp combo, ribs, and chicken fried steak. We all enjoyed it all. All the food was fresh and hot and cooked to order. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had. The service was equally as great, shout out to our server D'Ontae. When he learned that it was our son's birthday, he offered him a complimentary dessert. And as we left, he offered Sweet Tea in to-go cups. The place is right on the main highway, easy to find. The did was good - I got a grilled chicken, my husband got the fried chicken - we gave our mac and cheese sides to our daughter who eats like a bird. Our son got a version of jambalaya (pictures). They have outdoor seating with umbrellas but in the SC summer, the sun was too strong to stay sitting outside for long. The kids took their food to go. The inside was fine - rustic. We stopped in tonight and we were very displeased with the fact that we had reservations and when we showed up on time that there was a large party and one server. The server sat us as best she could and then was so busy attending to the other customers in the restaurant that we never even got a water. There were four employees standing behind the bar and there were 3 patrons sitting at the bar. My biggest issue is that if you have a large party like that, you should have more servers working. Also if you take reservations, you should be able to handle the reserved party or tell them that you cannot accommodate them at the requested time. read more

We have been here multiple times and today was our first visit for brunch. Most visits we have had good food and great service. Our visit today was disappointing. The service was very slow -- we waited quite a while for anyone to come and take our order; we had to ask for our toast and biscuit and had to go up and ask for the check. No one ever came by to check us - I would have loved a tea refill! The food was decent today. My husband got the fried chicken livers and they were a little overcooked. They were out of home fries but no one told us and we only found out when our Crab Benedict arrived with grits. The omelet was tasty but I feel $12 is a little high for just an omelet and dry toast. There were 4 of us and a 20% tip was automatically added to the check. We typically tip 20% but adding it to a party of 4 feels unnecessary. We will try them again but perhaps avoid brunch read more

Cool little restaurant. Went on a Sunday and they had the brunch menu. I got the crab cake eggs Benedict. The crab cakes were a little bland and could've used more holiday sauce. I want my eggs Benedict swimming in the sauce (my buddy did too) but overall it was good (had potential to be great). I saw 2-3 people getting the chicken biscuits with gravy smothering them little chickys. Next time I'm getting that. The prices were very reasonable. In a time when inflation makes it scary to go to a restaurant, it's reassuring to see food prices feasible. I met my buddy there and our bill together was only like $24 before tip and waters to drink. Will definitely go back and check out their regular menu. I've read the dinner/lunch is good. Station 17 is in Adams Run off of 17 South. Great spot for lunch or dinner. Specials are as follows: Tuesday- Tacos, Wednesday- Spaghetti, Thursday- Wings, Friday- Steak, and Saturday- Ribs. We usually have a combination seafood platter. I usually get fried shrimp and flounder with fried okra. The wings are fantastic here as well since chef uses his smoker/grill outside to deliver the awesome taste! The only beef I have is the soft drinks they do not taste like real Coke or Pepsi products! Strong 4* After all this time, I finally got a chance to try out Station 17. On the way out of CHS back to Florida, I knew I had to stop. I like the open concept inside, an I imagine a "fire station" style motif, although nothing inside of there really said "fire station" to me. But I digress... I came for the food. I decided to get the Egg Rolls as an appetizer and the Ribs and Pulled Pork plate. The egg rolls were "not bad at all" but I felt there was something refreshing missing. Maybe some kind of tangy or mouth cleansing sauce? The ribs were amazing, tender, and fall off the bone, but the REAL star of the plate was the pulled pork. It is absolutely exceptional. The sides were Mac & Cheese along with Fried Okra. This combination proved to be a little "too" fatty in the end. I take the blame for that. I think BBQ should be offered with some kind of acidic embellishment, whether pickled cabbage/onions, or coleslaw or something. For me, my selection was a little too "rich" and not artery friendly. The next time, I will have to mix it with a slaw or something. Definitely recommend! read more

SO GOOD! Based on my neighbor's suggestion, I decided to go the extra miles from my home in West Ashley to Ravenel to have the "Station 17 Experience." First of all, it matters that the eatery is clean, Black-owned and serves delicious food at decent prices. Plus: My server was polite and efficient. APPETIZER: ($10) House-made Egg rolls (six of them) were filled with collard greens, brisket, and a bit of cabbage, served with a dipping sauce. The greens and cabbage were not over cooked, to my delight. See photo of the remaining two. Y U M M Y! MAIN COURSE: ($13) Pork Chop Plate: Two center cut glazed pork chops served with mashed potatoes and sautéed zucchini and onions. The server informed me that there was only one pork chop available, and I could choose another protein to substitute for the missing pork chop. I didn't want anything else, so for a reduced price ($8), I had more than enough food to satisfy my need for a good meal. To be honest, I would not have been able to finish off a second pork chop. I was thoroughly pleased with my meal that cost $22.76, with ice tea and taxes. I will definitely frequent Station 17 again, even though it is about a 20-25minute drive from my home. read more

So pleased and happy to have found this place. We have been to this area a good bit over the past year looking for property to relocate to. We first found it last year couldn't have been more pleased. Well, we had another very happy encounter this weekend. I had the chicken breast fried and mashed potatoes and green beans with white gravy. It sounds so basic right? But believe me when I say DONE RIGHT is critical. This simple dish can go wrong but not today and not here! My husband had the shrimp and fish with THE most delicious red rice and coleslaw. When I order red rice....I want traditional Charleston/Savannah red rice, this is it, I even ordered some to take home. Portions are generous...I had to take out leftovers. Service was perfect, ambiance was spot on for a Saturday during SEC football season on the TV, casual relaxed spot to come to again and again. Oh and yes the prices were commensurate with the deliciousness, portion, service and ambiance. I hope to be able to find a home in the area so we can return here for years to come. I've been passing this roadside gem for nearly 2yrs, pining to stop in for a bite, but always missing out until yesterday. I'm so glad I made a U-turn once I saw the lights were on inside! I was greeted by a gracious hostess and server, shown to a fine table, offered a beverage immediately. As I looked over the special board, I took note of the house made egg rolls and meatloaf, but I opted for the Sea Platter with side salad and was not disappointed. Check out the photos for a preview. We found this modernized restaurant on route 17. A great clean place. It's decorated in industrial decor. The Tuesday Tacos @$3.00 a piece was a great choice. We shared 3: 2 grilled shrimp & 1 pulled pork! Yes, Pulled Pork !! All were excellent. The pico added just the best zip & sour cream smoothed the taste.
