While that setup might be fine for enjoying cocktails & conversation, it was incredibly uncomfortable for an actual meal. I ordered food & trying to eat from a table that low was awkward, to say the least. An actual dining table would've made a world of difference. My husband ordered a bourbon flight & I had some type of spritz cocktail that I really enjoyed. I don't recall having any complaints about the food itself, but the seating arrangement definitely took away from the dining experience. One other thing worth mentioning: the bathroom was FREEZING! As for the speakeasy, it was packed for much of our visit, so we weren't initially able to get in. Fortunately, it cleared out just as we were preparing to leave & we finally got to experience it. Finding the entrance was another adventure. After calling & answering the bourbon-related riddle, there were no directions explaining where to find the actual door. I eventually had to ask an employee, only to discover that the entrance was tucked away to the left of the kitchen entrance. An odd location, in my opinion, & not particularly intuitive for first-time visitors. The speakeasy itself is smaller & more intimate, which I liked. The bar chairs were comfortable, but they were packed so tightly together that getting in & out of your seat was a challenge. Also, there's no restroom inside the speakeasy, so if you need to use the bathroom, you'll have to leave & go through the process of calling & answering the entry riddle again. During our visit, the riddle was bourbon-related. Would I return? Maybe. I'd be more inclined to visit if I could sit at an actual dining table or enjoy the speakeasy w/a group of friends. It's a nice concept, but the seating arrangements & a few practical details could definitely use some improvement.

Several people walked by us and could see we didn't have chips and salsa. So we flagged someone down and after we finished the appetizer, the chips and salsa arrive. Still no queso. I got my meal and waited on them to get theirs. When they got theirs she told us she was still waiting on them to make the queso with jalapeños. That was confusing. Half way through the meal we received the queso. It wasn't really wanted anymore but we took it. All three times the two people working the host stand were friendly and seated us quickly.
