If I could give this place negative stars I would in a heart beat. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. We went in sat down, waited 25 minutes for the waitress to even come over and acknowledge us and get our drink order. Finally got our drinks after 10 more minutes of waiting, put in our appetizer order before she walked away. It took 45 minutes alone just to get our appetizers. We ordered gator tail and every single piece but 5 thicker pieces were burnt up. We then put in our food order and it took an hour and a half to come out. When it did come out my mother's food was COLD. She complained and the manager WAS SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She stated her only option was to eat it how it is or she can put it in a to go box so we could take it home and heat it up. My husband proceeded to ask her where in that is that okay when our food JUST came out after waiting that long. She proceeded to get SO LOUD, to the point the whole restaurant got quiet and then said she was going to get the cops to escort him out all because she didn't like that he was trying to say something about the food being cold. Then she PROCEEDS to harass us while we were checking out making rude comments the whole time. We watched 5 different family's come in after us and left way before us because their food came out. I'm a local and I haven't been there in years and I was literally blown out of the water when I went to pay my bill! I ordered a rib eye steak sandwich, gator bites with a side of okra and a glass of tea. It came to $33.79 and I was shocked to say the least. The sandwich was 6" long with deep fried shoestring onions on top. The flavor was good but skimpy and overpriced at $14 andchange!! The gator bites were less than a handful at $11 and change! They were nothing to write home about taste wise and barely enough to satisfy a 5 yr old! The okra was good and nobody can mess up store bought breaded okra at $3, but again it was a tiny portion! The iced tea was decent. I wouldn't recommend this place if they were the only one in the area!! Run Forest run! MD was never like this and sadly I won't be returning! This is our go to restaurant for a lake day. They have a very long floating dock that almost always has space open. The restaurant has a buffet and sit down menu available. I've never eaten the buffet but it does seem like a popular option. The food is deceptively good. Everything from gator bites to shrimp po-boys, this place has a decent menu with something for everyone. I highly recommend the appetizer sampler. The restaurant is connected to a convenience store so you can restock on ice, beer, or a pair of sunglasses (to replace the ones you just lost to the lake). read more

a great little place on the water. The steak I had was enormous! as was my daughters burger! ALmost Everything we had was amazing, our waitress was super friendly and was on the ball. The tea was SUPER SWEET, so we asked her to switch it up on refills from unsweet to sweet to keep the mix a little less sugary. We really liked the gator bites, although not so muh the sweet and sour dipping sauce. There is a little store attatched and although we were here at night, i think there is a campground surrounding this place but not sure. What i didnt care for was the she crab soup- dont get me wrong it is a ok Crab soup that is super thick and creamy. But it is not she crab. there was no evidence of roe and it was way to thick. I did not finish it and usually i devour she crab soup ITs not far from Rocks Pond Campground- so if you are camping there and need a date night- this is a great place to stop. HECK if you are on the diversion canal in your boat and need some great food- stop by- maybe you can call it in on your cell phone and then just pull up in your boat, pick it up and head out again! i really enjoyed it and intend to go back! We really enjoy this place, always come by boat. All of our trips have been amazing, the food is great, fast friendly service and good people. The outdoor deck is a great waterfront dining experience and pet friendly, you have to lift them over the railing, but no biggie. Last trip for breakfast we had an unwanted visitor, a strange fellow that blocked the dock ramp with his golf cart then hovered near our table in front of a fan smoking....... Our waitress checked on us ONE TIME during that period and after waiting all that time, the food came out lukewarm and soggy. A good place to hit if you're out for a day of boating with the family and want to eat before you head back home. Laid back, casual, "shack" atmosphere and decent food. I recommend the fried chicken, but the burgers & stuff everyone else got looked good too, and everyone left happy and full. Service was a little weird: several tables that came in after us were served before us, including a very large table of like 10 people. If we hadn't spoken up I'm not sure we would ever have been served, but when we were, things were properly cooked. read more

After several years of patronage to this restaurant almost daily, sadly an era has come to an end. My wife and I are daily patrons , we never complain, rarely send food back even if wrong. Our check normally comes to about 15$ but we always leave a $5 tip regardless if service is less then stellar. We understand that people have bad days. My wife who especially does not complain at restaurants (fear of spit in food) decided today that if we were the owner of this business we would want to know if things were on a steady decline. I am a business owner and we have both Worked in the restaurant industry in years past. How the complaints by my wife and sister have been handled is unacceptable and as a business owner i am appalled. Macdaddys has just lost 5 very loyal customers. We ate here several times a week for years. That changed today. There were problems on several occasions with food AND bad service in the last month or so. I'm not sure what happened because we used to enjoy eating there. Since I would want to know if it was my place, I informed the owner of the problems. It seemed apparent that I insulted him. I wrote a Facebook review after I spoke with him and he responded in a way that let me know I had definitely offended him. He implied that I was a difficult customer who could not be pleased. In other words the problems all four of us in my party encountered were my fault. (I had previously left a four star review on Facebook but I changed it to a two star). Today when I made the complaint there were four of us at the table --every single person had a problem with their order and we had to get up to request drinks. Though it's a convenient location, and we love to support local businesses, we would rather not do business with this establishment any longer since there are other nearby restaurants that will provide good food and good service. (Hills Landing and Angels Landing are both nearby and are both better choices (in my opinion) if you're in the area.
