I'm assuming the temperature is due to the pizza oven being exposed to the dining area. There's a bar inside. The patio has a mix of high tops and regular tables. The prices were more expensive than I expected ($60 on pasta, marg, wings). Chicken Parmesan was delicious. Chicken was seasoned well and the amount of cheese was perfect. Happy Hour me please with pizza and wine. Woodhaven hit the spot with some delectable bites of garlic knots, truffle garlic fries and a pepperoni pizza with tiny peps to set of a great after work wine down. I am becoming more and more a wine connoisseur so Moscato chilled was perfect pairing. Hands down the service was unmatched by the bar staff being very attentive and knew we were Lady Gamecock fans so the tv was set for the game. Very good pizza, almost great even! I am from the Northeast so I am always looking for pizza that is closest to that style and this is *almost* it! My husband and I came in for dinner and ordered two pizzas: cheese + chicken bacon ranch. Both were delicious and I would definitely come back and order them again! Tried this place and better bring your ear plugs. It was only 1/2 full and over a 100 decibels. Not until a big table left did it get to a tolerable level. So ambience is probably a two to three. The Caesar salad regular size was plentiful enough to split for a starter. The Caesar dressing was pretty good too. The garlic knots were presented beautifully but there was no real flavor to them. I was told they were made in-house. Ours unfortunately were burnt on the bottom so we didn't eat but 1; however I discovered they didn't charge us for those, which was nice. We got the Italian Meats pizza. There is no pizza by the slice option in the evenings. The toppings, marinara, and cheese were great. The crust was perfectly cooked but unremarkable. Overall: I'm not sure if it was just an off night but I'm feeling this is not my first option for pizza. The crust was lacking flavor to me. Ambiance: 2.5. Very bright, plastic chairs, plastic drink cups all feel like "cheap cafeteria". The nice tvs on the wall were great. The condiments on the table were a nice selection. Unable to try this place and because the average is 4 stars I am giving also 4 stars but will adjust when we come back after they have sorted out the kinks of a new business. Went on Sunday at 5:30 and wanted to try the pizza after seeing all the ostentatious signs about the "Grand Opening" so we parked on the back since the sign at that door is "Take Out" and right next to that door there is a desk where I assume you order the take out. We were told they had suspended take outs because they only had one person working the oven, seriously? Is that accurate or is it only one person in the kitchen. It would seem to me that you only need one person to work the oven, why would you need more than one? seems ludicrous but they are all new so that is why I don't do like others to give one star. Place is loud with very high ceilings and had trouble understanding that there was only one person working the oven. I work in New York and he works at Bulova Watch right across from the Pizzeria and we used to meet at the Pizzeria. I was surprise when I saw what was written on the menu that was the same Pizzeria we used to go many years ago, my husband passed away many years ago, now I leave here in Summerville to be near my son and family. I discover the same Woodhaven Pizza in Nexton and was all excited it was the same old Pizzeria after 70 years. Wife and I sat at the bar. The place has high ceilings and open seating. It can get loud at times. We were first greeted by David the bartender. Wife had a wine and I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea. Okay, started off with mozzarella sticks. They didn't disappoint, nothing fancy, solid choice. Marinara sauce was good. Then the garlic knots. These vary at every establishment. I felt the dough was too chewy and dense, not airy and fluffy like some other knots. They aren't bad, but tossing them in a dish with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and baking it would make them delicious. The garlic Parmesan French fries were not garlicky or parmy enough. I'm looking for the Gordon Biersch garlic fries. They have them in Myrtle Beach. Those are the standard. The pizza . This was absolutely fantastic. There is a bit of flop, but the under carriage is on point and the sauce is hands down the best pizza sauce I've tasted in the Lowcountry for traditional pizza. I say that because Detroit and Chicago are different altogether. The dough, cheese, pepperoni were cooked to perfection. Definitely a high rating for me. Zero complaints on the pizza. First time trying Woodhaven Pizza, I ordered the Sips in the City cocktail while I was waiting for my friend. The server (I can't remember her name) was very attentive while I was waiting. I didn't care for the cocktail (a little too sweet for me), so we ordered a bottle of the house pinot grigio - it was good. I ordered the New York Italian w/ a side salad, and my friend ordered the Eggplant Parm sandwich. They were HUGE! We both agreed that the food was delicious. I ended up taking home half of my sandwich and the salad because there was so much food. The server noticed that I didn't drink the cocktail and was sweet enough to take it off the bill. We were driving past around lunch time and my son said he wanted pizza so we decided to try it out. The ambiance is very basic with simple tables and chairs and white walls. The music was all sad and honestly lowered the vibe. They told us they weren't serving alcohol yet no big. Cups are disposable plastic which was a little odd for a sit down place. The menu looked great and the table next to us had sandwiches which were huge and salads prompting us to add a ceasar salad which was great. We also ordered a large half pepperoni half hot pepperoni speciality pizza. Our order came out incorrect but was promptly and kindly fixed. Looking at other reviews this seems common unfortunately. The service was honestly awful. We had to keep flagging our server and she often walked away while we were still talking and we aren't a high needs group by any means. Pizza was okay. First off, Woodhaven really killed it for only being open for a week and a half. Walked in and was greeted by one of the owners. Seated immediately and the service was wonderful. Our waitress was very personable and timely. She gave us many recommendations (I asked for them because it all looked good.) Hubby ordered the pepperoni pie with extra cheese, add mushrooms. Having grown up eating NY/NJ pizza, he said this was the closest he's had to it in South Carolina and that he doesn't want to go anywhere else for pizza. He gave me a bite, and my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Easily a 9.5. I had the eggplant parm on top of spaghetti, and the portion size could have fed the entire restaurant. And, it was DELICIOUS!! Easy 8.5-9. The meatball on top...eh, little/zero flavor...can't win 'em all. ~2.5 The spaghetti under my eggplant...a 3. The pasta water was not salted. The sauce should have been meat sauce. Loved the ambience with the giant TV wall. Reviewers have complained about chairs, and I find that hilarious. Do they want a La-Z-Boy? Chairs were just fine. The price matched the food quality, which was not a problem. It's more than a pizza place; it's a trendy Italian restaurant. The food was great and we truly enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, what happened afterward really took away from the experience. I accidentally left a jacket behind and called soon after to let the team know we would be coming back to pick it up. When we returned, staff acted completely clueless about where it was. We were told different things by different people and had to come back multiple times, each visit getting a new story about what happened to the jacket. At one point we were told it had been sent to another location. After being given the runaround, we eventually found out that someone had actually worn the jacket, which was extremely upsetting and unacceptable. While the food itself was excellent, the communication and management around lost-and-found items was handled very poorly. The management team needs to do a much better job training staff and holding them accountable when it comes to respecting guests' personal belongings. Went in and placed an order for pizza with pepperoni onions and jalapeños and was walking towards the oven and saw the owner/manger looking at a grandma pie that just came out of the oven and told the cook to make another one and they put that aside. I asked him if I can take that instead of the pie I ordered and he said sure. That pie was amazing! It was nice and crispy-well done the way the pizza should be. Had an amazing experience over at Woodhaven the other day. My friend and I are both from NY and wanted to try a plain cheese pie. While having a beer one of the owners (Anthony) came over and talked to us for a while. Really nice young fellow, he mentioned they had some kinks early on as a new place but they worked everything out and I can tell you the pizza was great! It definitely was the best I've had since moving down from NY, they really nailed it. What totally blew us away was after finishing our pizza they brought us a slice of cheesecake from CARNEGIE DELI in NYC! Yes, they serve Carnegie Deli cheesecake at Woodhaven! I thought that was pretty cool. Now I have a dessert place to take my wife out to that I can actually look forward to. Anyway, TLDR: Great genuine NYC pizza and stellar, hands down the best cheesecake you'll ever have from Carnegie for dessert. read more

Lot's of TV's and great tv coverage for Football season. Nice open area ish, I like the big windows so you can look out. Can be family setting, date night or just a drink at the bar alone. First time there today at 11:10am, and welcomed by the bartender (I'm sorry I can't recall His name, but a south Jersey guy) was friendly, informative, and an excellent conversationist. They have a 2 slice daily lunch special and I enjoyed a slice of both cheese and pepperoni. Both were excellent and being from NJ/NY the crust was spot on! We arrived at 6:30 pm with people waiting to be seated. It was seat yourself at the bar with availability, there were two seats open so we sat at the bar, ordered our pizza and a Coke and proceeded to wait 55 min. for the pizza to come out. They had no alcohol because the liquor license hadn't come through yet. When the pizza arrived, it was a 12 inch not the 16 inch pie we ordered. It came with pepperoni and meatball topping. The taste of the pizza was very good, and if I was evaluating it on the flavor alone, I would say definitely go to this restaurant But ... there is more. The ambience is what you would expect from a more industrial material setting. The establishment was clean and neat and the service pieces they use were better than average. Drink size was 12 ounce cups for $3.50 for a soda. The pepperoni pizza cost $18.95 +3 dollars for the meatball topping to be added. This brought the cost of the check to $25.45 plus the $2.81 tax for a grand total of $28.26 plus what I left for a tip. The flavor of the pizza together with the experience that we had on this visit would not rate my coming back to this restaurant. Other customers had waited for an hour and a half or more for their pizza which came out incorrect, and the establishment offered to do nothing to compensate them for excessive time waiting and the wrong order coming out. Before their pizza came out they got six chicken wings, and two sodas. If management had been smart, they would've comped them those items, perhaps still charging them for the incorrect pizza and called it a day. But they did nothing for those people and I saw it. Those customers said they would never come back. I can't say as I blame them. If you want a pricey pizza with average ambience and possibly a long wait, then try this pizza. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading their website, but was disappointed in a few areas. First, it's bright inside but lacks any acoustic lining so the noise level is about middle school cafeteria. The chairs are the lightweight orange mold flavor and very light on the toppings. 12" with 3 toppings was $25. There is a lot of opportunity to have a great, fun place here. A gentleman who appeared to have an owner/manager type of position was walking around, but missed the opportunity to ask diners about their experience. Went to Woodhaven pizza Nexton today for the second time to see if the pizza was any better than the first time we went there which was 2 weeks after opening Up. First time we ordered a pizza and an order of meatballs. The meatballs were delicious but the arugala sausage pizza lacked taste, the crust was soggy and undercooked. Service was ok but slow. The second time around we ordered garlic parmigiana fries and garlic knots both were delicious again. Also tried the arugula sausage pizza again it came out the same way as the first time there soggy crust and tasteless. Our server was very nice and apologized for the food. I have never written an online review before but felt compelled. For the last 3 weeks I was in NYC and had a Caesar salad with Chicken each day for lunch for $10 with tax. On returning to Nexton, I thought I would try the Caesar salad at Woodhaven. For $16 he size of the salad was at least half of the size I got in NYC and was akin to a $5 side salad one might get at most restaurants. Instead of shaved Parmigiano the cheese seemed like a few specs of grated Parmesan, the chicken was about 1/3 the amount of the salads I had in New York and it was overcooked and dry to the point of barely edible. This restaurant's menu claims to have NY/NJ roots but the salad was unrecognizable compared to what I was getting in New York at $6 less for twice as much and at better quality ingredients and preparation than at Woodhaven. Disappointed. A one and done try of this restaurant. read more
