First of all after reading reviews from 2020 it doesn't seem fair that the new owners of The Grille have responsibility for the older reviews. The restaurant is always clean and the service is great. We go to Trivia every Wednesday and always have a fun time. I think sometimes people don't understand that it isn't easy running a restaurant. The Owners are local and work hard to make their business successful. I know from experience that it's hard to please everybody and its usually the ones that complain that write the reviews. read more

Everyone was very friendly and accommodated my request for a grilled chicken sandwich with no bun! The grilled asparagus were perfect as well as the steamed broccoli. read more

I ordered chicken alfredo, and the chicken was ok, but the alfredo sauce was really bad, no taste to it, I could not eat it. They did take it off the bill, so I asked for a dessert, and the waitress suggested baked cookie and ice cream. When that came out the baked cookie was not cooked inside. The waitress was very nice, but I felt bad for her as the kitchen staff needed to be retrained or fired. read more

Customer service was horrible. They were rude and not able to accommodate me within a reasonable time limit.

Good simple food and friendly service. Enjoyed the Sunday buffet which had a fantastic array of homemade cake slices for dessert. We will return! read more

You name it!!! Two waitresses for an entire restaurant, filthy filthy floors, full of grease. I don't think they've ever been cleaned. The bathroom was absolutely atrociously, dirty, and smelly, and the food took forever to come, and when it did, it was definitely not top notch! read more

My wife and I went to The Grill in Manning - not to be confused with the old Mill Street Grill that is no longer in business. The new owners have definitely made significant improvements in the place and the quality of food and service. It's clean. The owners and staff are friendly and courteous. Food is served in an appropriate amount of time. And the menu is varied and priced within reason. We both had burgers and they were the best I've had in Manning. Looking forward to trying different selections in the future. read more

Save your money, prime rib very disappointing first try what suppose to be medium very dark and well done, dark came from dipping in juice to make it juicer, didn't work, second try still over cooked and tasteless. Wife had seafood platter plenty of food that she was enjoying until she bit into a bad oyster. Scallops are suspect too uniform and big to be real. Fried green. tomatoes were excellent. So after $63 with tip we drove out of the parking lot saying we won't be back. Burned twice with old management once with new as they say in the kitchen we are done. read more

Lets face it: we all judge certain books by their covers. Sometimes we don't even look at the cover before we already have a preconceived notion of what we will experience. These are all based on past experiences, so there is certainly some validity to these judgements. Sometimes we are right, sometimes we are wrong. But our ideas of how things should be, and are, often align. I was judging the hell out of this cover. I didn't even want to see the author or the title page or the table of contents. I was in the middle of nowhere SC and starving. I had been looking for somewhere to eat for the last hour but Francis Marion National Forest isn't exactly Times Square. It was nothing but trees for miles. Side note: when driving through uninhabited places like this (my cell phone had no signal for most of an hour) I always wonder, morbidly perhaps, if there are any dead bodies out there? Surely there was some Ted Bundy acolyte that decided to follow in the steps of his mentor, take a hostage, and dispose of the body. Am I the only one thinking this? I often wonder and plot how I could get away with the perfect crime. What else am I going to think about for 60 minutes? I pulled into the parking lot and liked what I saw. The place looked fairly new. The asphalt in the parking lot was still cooling from just being poured, the signs and lights that adorned the exterior were bright and new, good stuff. The interior represented more of the book cover I was imagining. A little run down. It was cold outside so the buffet steamers had the place as humid as Key West in July. I could just hear the moisture penetrating and settling in the carpet and ceilings and window panes. I sat at the bar and chose the buffet for the meal. Remember, I had just contemplated the perfect crime (and solved the mystery, btw), so my brains and body were depleted. I saw a whole new set of covers to judge at the buffet line. And I will be honest, it looked like I was about to read War and Peace while high on marijuana: does plain and arduous ring a bell? The food was actually pretty damn tasty. Nothing blew my mind but nothing made me want to hurl insults or regret my decision to dine here. The fried chicken, as buffet fried chicken often tastes, was dry and chewy. Was this a product of the grueling buffet environs or a product of poor cooking? I lean toward the former because everything else was A-OK. Bonus points for having black eyed peas, a true southern delicacy. All in all a pretty good place. Nothing was five star but nothing was one star. Outside of the 2.5 star chicken, I give it a solid 4. I had the mac and cheese, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, green beans, and even the cake was ok. If caught in the muck and mire of the Swamp Loggers haven, I would come here again. read more

I ordered the shrimp scampi and it came with Texas toast and salad bar. Salad bar had a nice variety and well stocked. Service was great. Loved the scrimp scampi. Plenty of shrimp but it was very very soupy. Maybe 1/2 cup of pasta. I asked for more pasta and it appears they didn't add any. My husband had the fried shrimp liked it very much. I'm only saying this because the first time I had the shrimp scampi it was loaded with pasta and shrimp and not sure why they can't add more pasta. Of course will go back but won't get the shrimp scampi unless they can put 1/2 pound of .89 pasta in the dish. read more

The cooks always bring their A-game! I haven't eaten a thing there that I didn't like! I love their chicken salad sandwich and wing chips. Their salad buffet is amazing! Don't waste your time here. They had an "all you can eat" crab legs special. We waited 2.5 hours for 4 clusters of crab legs. Tiny ones at that. Complained and still got stuck with a $200 bill for 3 people. Pathetic. Couldn't pay me to go back here. read more

Friendly atmosphere and great wings! we were there on a Thursday and got the wing special...off the chain. We sat in the bar which has TVs for us sports fans. Brad at the bar was the bomb and all the staff was friendly and helpful. Live music was good too. Next time we are at the lake, we will be back! read more

We came today on a Sunday. Got seated right away even though it was busy. They had a buffet set up which we didn't realize but I was happy about. Yummy salad bar and a few basic hot bar options like cornbread, green beans, weird biscuits, fried chicken, Mac n cheese. Could have been a better spread. Dessert was banana pudding and there were a few slices of cake. Everyone was super nice. Very affordable! Will come back and looking forward to trying them when they have a menu. read more

Great place for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out really fast. I had the Harvest Salad and my wife had the chicken salad. Mine was very good. Hers was great. She had a choice of two other salads to go with hers. She took the broccoli and pasta. Her plate was piled high. And I can't remember the last time she absolutely cleaned the plate. My only complaint is that the plates, themselves, were small. Even if you only get a glass of water, get the cheesecake roll. WOW! read more

Great budget priced buffet with fried chicken, Mac and cheese and brownies for dessert! Lots of entree choices plus a nice salad bar.

I had the salad bar. It was good and had a variety of items but no French or Catalina dressing. Husband ordered Lemon Pepper wings, they came out hot (temp) he liked them. They asked if he wanted blue cheese or ranch but when we asked about celery they don't serve celery with wings. Mom had chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries. Fries came out hot and sandwich was delicious. Dad had the buffet. He ate a little bit of everything and it was all good. He had a variety of desserts to chose from. We saw that you can buy whole cakes and pies. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile tonight we finally did and the food and service were amazing I had the prime rib which was so delicious my husband loved the wings my daughters had the seafood buffet and a small pizza everything was great the place is clean and welcoming and above all else the fried cheescake alone is worth the trip we devoured it definately our new favorite place to eat I highly recommend it!!!! read more

I walked into the restaurant and I tried to order food to go this evening. I asked the waitress that came over for a to-go menu and she just told me to go on Facebook instead of offering me a menu to look at and walked away from me without any explanation. So I left. I called my wife and she called the restaurant spoke to the waitress that was so rude to me. She explained to her that we were trying to order food to go. The waitress apologized stating that it was a misunderstanding and for me to return and she would take care of it. I proceeded back to the restaurant and a different waitress came over and took my order, I explained to her what happened during my prior experience. She left went in the back and a man posing as the owner came out in plain clothes. He was very rude and threatening. After coming back for the second time the only he had to say to me was that if I didn't like the service there I could leave, which I did. I will NEVER spend a dime at this restaurant again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know how rude, unprofessional and distasteful the staff at this restaurant are. our family of five had dinner at this restaurant and I tell you this all you can eat buffet was so magnificent each of us feel the same way the food was hot well season and just plain delicious they kept the bar full and it hot the whole time we were there the weight staff was attentive and kept us full with drinks and made sure that we were satisfied with everything that we needed plenty of napkins and even the manager kept coming around to make sure that we were satisfied The price is excellent the buffets are only $11.99 with tax and the Friday all you can eat seafood buffet is 1299 and that's with tax we will be back for that on Friday you won't be disappointed five stars two thumbs up come check it out read more

I am visiting Manning due to work. I found this restaurant when I searched restaurants in the area and decided to give it a try. Their salad bar is amazing. Great variety of fresh crisp vegetables, numerous other vegetables, other salads including, pasta salad and potato salad among others. And finally delicious thick salad dressings that tastes homemade. My server recommended the chicken salad sandwich. It was one of the best I have ever had. Plus, the service was amazing. I noticed the owner made frequent trips throughout the dining room to make sure service was impeccable. I will definitely be back. read more
