Our waitress was extremely pleasant and made sure our drinks stayed full. All the food we had was yummy and came out piping hot. My daughter ordered the Togarashi Crusted Carolina Grouper which she said was delicious. I had the Grilled Colorado Lamb Rack, which was also very tasty and my husband ordered the Calabrese pizza, which I tried and was very good too. We really enjoy this place and typically come for brunch on Sunday's and this was our first time having dinner there, we will return. Also not pictured, we had the calamari (8/10), artichoke dip (8.3/10) and bread basket (6.5/10). We came for an early lunch and were the only customers. We were greeted by the staff and felt welcome. The restaurant was modern, clean well and very pleasant. We struggled with one of the chairs that was missing a glide and rocked terribly. The host just looked on. We ordered a chicken parmesan panini sandwich and the chicken green curry bowl. The chicken panini had potential. It included chicken, roasted tomatoes, ham, arugula and cheese. It would have been great but the grilled focaccia was a little tough to eat- chewy. It came with a side of House made chipotle chips that were very tasty. The chicken green curry was a pretty plate of food. It tasted great though the curry sauce could have been warmer. Been there done that !! New Year's Eve special was a 4 course dinner for $100 a person but here is the catch, if one person ordered it the rest of the table had too also. That was stupid and I told them that. I liked it but Melinda didn't. Soooo We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was good except for the weeds they put on top. Melinda ordered a brick oven pizza and I ordered a bowl of collard greens soup with a small piece of cornbread and an entree of scallops. After waiting a bit the waitress comes by to tell us that the pizza and soup is coming right up. I asked about the scallops and she said what scallops and says I'll get that going right now. She brings out my soup and says the pizza and scallops will be out shortly. Before I could taste the soup here came a waiter with my scallops but no pizza. So I started my timer to see long before the pizza. Well 9 minutes later here comes the pizza. By the time I finished the soup,the scallops had cooled off a bit but still a tad bit warm. I think I just had such high hopes for this one. Our server had no knowledge of the menu or cocktails, which was disappointing. I think we could have made smarter decisions if we had someone knowledgeable. We chose to sit in the raffters which is more of a trendy bar area. I ordered dessert first since I follow them on Instagram. It was so disappointing, all the server could tell me about the menu items were they are sweet desserts and they added this sampler. Very fine, elegant restaurant smack down in the center of the old down town Camden. Linen table coverings, silver and glass nicely displayed. A menu that changes, literally, daily and excellent choices. We were a table of oldsters, 93, 78, 77 and 73. Our excellent server was Torrie Chapman and she was very attentive and pleasant, as well as getting everything right for us. We ate, Lasagna at $11, Salmon Entree at $18, Chicken Green curry at $15 and soup of the day with bread at $11.50. We oooo'ed and ahhhhhh'ed throughout lunch. Coffee at $3 each and 2 orders of Creme Brulee at $6 each topped off the meal. What a very pleasant way to spend the day. Hands down, best food in Sumter. We come here often and have never had a bad meal. In fact, everything I've had has been incredible. Start out with the duck spring rolls, they are phenomenal, you may not want to share. For an entree, the ribeye is cooked perfectly. Or try the Braised short rib-- probably my favorite, the combination of cheese grits with the short rib just melts in your mouth. Do not leave here without having the caramel cake with pecan ice cream. I am not a cake person but this is out of this world good. This place is a perfect date night, very elegant. I can't make up my mind about Hamptons. I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the last two years. The food is always good, often great. Tonight we had lamb dumplings (outstanding), short rib ravioli (delicious), and a pizza (always good). On other trips the fish and steaks always stood out. Cocktails were delicious but also where the problems started. While the back of the house is full up, the front of the house is inconsistent. The drinks were slow to arrive. When glasses ran empty the staff was slow to notice and to offer additional drinks. But if you catch them on a good night you're in for great food and drinks. read more

We had a disappointing experience here today for Mother's Day. My husband made reservations weeks ago, the app he used only allowed for reservations for 4. We were also bringing our 2.5 year old and she needed a seat at the table. My husband called multiple times the night before (during opening hours), to get no answer and finally left a voicemail saying we would be needing an extra seat for our daughter. Upon arriving, the hostess seemed a little confused that we would be needing an extra chair but said it wasn't a problem. Right after sitting down, I'm assuming it was the manager, came to our table. She told us that next time we need to let them know that we'd be needing an extra chair. I then told her that my husband had called multiple times and even left a voicemail to let them know. She said the phone was in the kitchen and they "do their best" to answer. Well, maybe they need to hire someone to answer the phone as this is not my problem. She mentioned we needed to let them know so there was no "confusion." I found this extremely rude as it was also Mother's Day and my husband had left a voicemail. Enjoyed the first of many-to-come brunches at Hamptons outdoor seating area La Piazza. If the name doesn't pique your interest then when I tell you about the food you'll be sold. I chose the brioche French toast, served with candied pecans, fresh assorted berries, and this vanilla custard cream sauce that I want to pour over every pancake, waffle, piece of French toast, & dessert I eat for the rest of my life. I also shared a mimosa kit with several friends -- which is a slightly less expensive option delivering a bottle of champagne, carafe of O.J. and several flutes for the party to share (and refill!). My associates chose the chicken and waffles, salmon and grits, and brisket biscuit. Everyone raved about the quality, freshness, visual presentation, and taste of their choices. I was pleasantly surprised to find outdoor restrooms, so I did not have to waltz through the main restaurant. The restrooms were well maintained and super clean. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. She was always refilling our drinks and asking if we needed anything else. After hearing raving reviews about this restaurant, my husband and I decided to give this place a shot. Right off the bat, The address provided in Yelp will talk to you the vicinity but because the restaurant is unmarked, you'll likely drive right past it. Just know, it's to the right of Jin's Chinese restaurant. The parking alone is very limited but we were thankful to get a spot right across the street-- I hope your parallel parking skills are on point, because mine were (; . Walking in, it looks really nice. Not upscale, but definitely on the classier end of Sumter options. The interior is cute, with bubble chandeliers, light blue accent walls and huge mirrors to open the room. You're greeted with a friendly face, that will have likely just watched you parallel park and may have laughed in their head lol. We didn't have any problem getting seated, mind you, we came at around 6pm. We watched it get busier as the night went on, but it was never packed. This establishment doesn't seem very fitting for larger groups-- probably best for groups of 5 or less. There's one table that can fit more than that, but it's limited. They give you a menu that lists starters and entrees. Kind of limited but you can't go wrong. Definitely on the pricier end but totally worth it. For drinks, my husband got the whiskey sour. Per my husband, "it was alright". 6/10 (I have to ask him to rate it because his descriptions are very limited.) I got the pink lemonade martini. I love anything with a sugar rim, so I loved it. Strong but not bitter. For starters, My husband got the tortellini soup-- he said it was good. (9/10) I got the clams with pork strips. Needless to say, it was amazing. The seasoning was perfect and the pork cuts were so savory and tender, they just melt in your mouth. For our entrees, my husband and I both ordered the ribeye with loaded potatoes and asparagus. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak and stated that it came out perfect. The loaded potatoes were good and I absolutely loved the asparagus. For dessert, they did offer for us to have our dessert upstairs in the bar, but we were so full that we didn't want to move. Just know that that is an option. My husband ordered caramel cake with vanilla ice cream. It smelled really sweet. My husband finished the whole slice so that's always a plus. I got the cappuccino. It came out bitter, which some people will love, but for those who prefer more sweet, they offer lots of sugar cubes! I enjoyed the cup of caffeine after our meal. The service was great too.
