Kaylee the Bartender is GREAT! She was so personable and very knowledgeable about the menu and knows how to upsell! I loved her service!

People, if you are in this area, do not skip this place. We were pleased to meet chef Ben. He provided such an amazing dinner. This guy has talent. Having a restaurant off I-95 we never anticipated would find such a jewel. Our meal was as just simply amazing. Thank you Ben, Mackenzie, and the entire staff at Cork and Barrel. The bartender whose name a failed to get, was also amazing and so friendly. Trust me folks, try this place........ read more

Ok positives first: My server was Hailey; young but attentive and sweet. Keep it up girl! I decided to try the meatballs because they had no reviews for them and they offer the as an appetizer and also on a flatbread pizza. The meatballs were actually legit! The sauce was flavorful, you could see the herbs; and the same with meatballs. You can see a bit of herb and they were delicious. But why the 2 star review? This is an "upscale " restaurant for Santee, SC. Entrees run$24-$99! But it was BROILING HOT in the dining room. The thermostat on the wall read 85 and 86 degrees F, and I'm fairly certain that's against some sort of health code. Regardless, I was SWEATING. I could only eat 1 of 4 meatballs because I was just too hot to eat. And the women's bathroom was its own level of hell. Like a free sauna, except there's a toilet and a lingering eau de toilet of and it had to be at least 92 if not hotter in that tiny bathroom. I mean, they did have a small desk fan in there trying to help out, but look this isn't a 3rd world country without AC. If that tiny bathroom is that hot, I can't imagine how hot the kitchen is, and that can't be safe for the staff or for food safety. Management definitely needs to prioritize getting their AC up To snuff, ASAP. read more

This place has been open about 18 months. Located in a strip mall. Still looks new inside. Very clean, nice vibe. We were 2 couples - had a drink @ the bar then seated for dinner. 3 of the 4 of us liked our meals. The coconut shrimp app was good. My flatbread of spinach & goat cheese was heavy on the cheese but good. Friends had a burger, was fine. Drinks were good. Service was fine. read more

We had a great time at the bar. Kaylee was awesome and introduced me to the soft serve beverages....mmmmm! Can't wait to come back to eat more and get more drinks read more

What a delicious treat we found at Cork & Barrel! Cozy, industrial atmosphere with attentive staff who genuinely welcomed us into the restaurant. Plus the service was impeccable! You owe it to yourself to start with a flight of your favorite cocktail! The bourbon flight included generous pours with an excellent selection at a reasonable price! Their ribeye was perfectly cooked...tender, juicy and flavorful...medium rare. The tuna was seasoned well with a crisp crust, seared rare and cut like butter with just a fork. The spinach and goat cheese flatbread was also delicious! If you're in the Santee, SC area, you owe it to yourself to enjoy a meal with Cork and Barrel! You won't be disappointed! read more

Kaylee was the best bartender ever! She was extremely friendly, professional, and attentive. Even though she was taking care of other customers, she made us feel like we were the only ones there. She made us feel comfortable, welcome, and well taken care of throughout our entire visit. Her customer service was exceptional, the food was extremely good and the restaurant was very clean and she truly made our experience special. We will definitely be back and hope to see Kaylee again! read more

Manager Mikayla yelled at a server this evening I'm front of all of us customers after a 14 top table came in and shut the kitchen down for over an hour. Our table requested an appetizer order after we ate the first and wanted more. Our server got yelled at for submitting it. Our server quit in the middle of serving due to the horrid management of Dalton and Mikayla. read more

Food service ambiance. Everything was great. Steaks are fire and garlic cheese turds are a must.

Good people, good fun, great food, great drinks, great service. Looking forward to going back.

Have been here a couple of times. The first time the manager was on site and the service and food was great. Went in tonight and didn't see the manager. We were sat at a table and 20 minutes later we still had not had our drink order taken. There was a group of about 10 at another table that undoubtedly was more important than anyone as they were the only ones the waitresses were helping. I would recommend the lake house or porter jacks because they at least acknowledge you are there. read more

I had two Togo orders 1. My parents ordered a salmon with twice baked potato ,salad and soup when I got home I only received a baked potato and a salad which was the incorrect salad at that. No salmon paid 49.64 2. My sister order a steak w Cajun cream sauce asparagus and a baked potato and never received her asparagus. When I called to try to get my money back for the missing items the manager called me a liar and said she packed them herself Didn't get to take a picture of the no salmon was busy trying to figure out what to feed my mother. And calling to figure something out. But spending over 80 and not getting what I paid for is beyond frustrating. This also isn't the first time they don't put the correct food in togos read more

If anywhere near Santee you definitely have to stop and see them. They have a wide variety of food reasonably priced. The bar manager KayLee is awesome You need to come see her she'll definitely take care of you the way she takes care of all of her people. You won't be disappointed! read more

We arrived at the plaza with intent to eat Chinese. Noone was in that restaurant. We look to our left and see sidewalk tables, specials board and a very busy place. We were seated where we wanted and the wait staff was fast and very attentive. Our smoked pimento dip was excellent. My wife ordered a spinach an goat cheese flatbread and I ordered the Bone in Chop. The staff kept checking on us, filling water glasses, and letting us know about when to expect our meal. We were in no hurry and greatly appreciated the attention and concern that we were not waiting for a long time for the food to arrive. In short, my wife loved the flatbread, my chop was the the most tender and done to perfection I have ever had. The Brussels sprouts side and gouda grits were both awesome additions. I felt like everything was priced well and not overpriced. The Creme Brulet cheese cake for dessert topped the night! It is a small but well organized venue. I like the lighting with the ferns dampening the tone subtlety. The bar appeared lively and you could tell there was a mix of locals, tourists, and travelers. Because of the size the background noise level was up there a bit, however, we had a nice dinner conversation without shouting. My new favorite dining place when passing through Santee! We'll done, we'll dressed, and thank you! read more

First let me say that the food was very good. We had fried shrimp and salads. We sat outside which was not good (traveling and had a dog). The outside area was dirty and there were no fans. It was very hot. We were also dealing with flys. I think with a little work the outside area would be a nice place to sit. The service was pretty good, but again no focus on people outside. read more

Great food and very pleased with the service. I had honey fried chicken sliders and fries, and my husband had a cheeseburger and fries. The food was cooked to order, and the fries were crispy and plentiful. Located in a strip center very convenient to the hotels and 95. I usually don't review restaurants, but this one I will. read more

I do not enjoy reporting this, but Cork and Barrel should be avoided. Despite being one of the most poorly organized restaurants in my experience, C & B was busy, inexplicably. Our server was new and is not to be faulted. The staff was over their heads however even though four wait staff were on duty. The hostess fluttered, speaking to herself, not under her breath unfortunately. The "turkey club" my wife ordered was abysmal, with a bit of bacon grease spread on a half slice of turkey on each of three sliders with a bit of mayo and a scrap of lettuce. My honey chicken slider plate was not bad, but skimpy. Fries were lukewarm warm. Hostess wiped off adjoining tables and seats with same cloth, leaving table tops slimy. The entire experience left us embarrassed for the restaurant, a very awkward meal. read more

We made reservations for our first time visit yesterday and everything was outstanding. We loved our waitress Heather who went out of her way to take care of us. The food was excellent and you truly get your money's worth. I had fried shrimp, baked potato (it was huge) and brussel sprouts. I got desert as well, but I opted to take that home as I had eaten too much. We ate an early dinner at 5:00 pm and when we were leaving the place was packed with people. We will definitely be going back. Oh, by the way I also had a spicy bloody mary. Excellent as well. read more

Good food and portions. Authentic southern food at affordable prices. Will visit again when in town.

The hamburger and fries were perfectly cooked, this place is a nice gem that will be on our map for a good stop on the road from now on. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

Our first visit was during week. Staff was friendly. It was rather quiet. Food was good. Owner made a point to come to our table to introduce himself and thank us for coming. Liked that! Next visit was takeout. Hostess was friendly and thanked for our business. Food was good. Third visit was take out. Glad it was. Friday night was very loud. There's a need for acoustic tiles. The hostess could barely hear me. Unfortunately, she wasn't very friendly. Different takeout containers need to be used. During the 2 takeouts, food juices leak in plastic bag. Very messy! read more

So we came on a Friday with a party of eleven. Another party of eleven went in right before us. It's a fairly small place so we expected the 45 minute wait for our food. What we didn't expect: the last person to get his food at our table received it 45 minutes after the first person got her food. Four of us ordered steaks. The $32 ribeyes were very thin. They were 12 ounce but just not good (mine was tough). The NY strip was a 16 ounce and a few bucks cheaper. If you take a chance on the steaks, I'd recommend the strip. At least it is thick. Three of the four steaks ordered were charred so badly they tasted pretty awful. We didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for a different meal so we just ate them. Our party made a number of meal different choices. The fried shrimp were very, very good. The Brussels sprouts got high marks. My daughter ordered the charcuterie - she said it was "fine." Pour your very small side salad out of the ridiculously narrow bowl onto the saucer it's served on - much easier to eat that way. Entertainment was a woman with a nice voice singing a wide range of songs (karaoke). IT IS SO LOUD YOU HAVE TO YELL TO TALK TO THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU. Any farther away, conversation is impossible. Not just the music was loud - voices seem to bounce off the walls- even the servers can't hear you order. Service was ok considering they were pretty slammed. Not planning to return but, if I do, I will skip the steak and order the fried shrimp. read more

I am new to this area lookin for a good place to eat out every night and I might add a heavy spender ! I called to place an order the man that picked up the phone was EXTREMELY rude! I asked how was the Brussels sprout prepared he's like " I'm just a host" with the nastiest tone ! There is absolutely no way I'm eating in a place with an unprofessional host I'm assuming it might be dirty there as well because no establishment only dirty ones have rude "host" when placing an order. They just lost themselves some customers! So unnecessary! read more

The staff was super friendly and very accommodating of me and my husband. The drinks were fantastic as well as the appetizers. Food was great even with them being busy. We will definitely be back. read more

We are in town for an event and stumbled across Cork and Barrel. We came in just for drinks and an app, we enjoyed it so much, we came back the next night! I saw some of the reviews which made me question whether or not we wanted to go initially. I'm so glad that we went in. It's such a great little place the food is outstanding. the bartenders are great. Friday night they had a really good acoustic musician playing. When we're passing through again, we'll definitely stop back in! I wish we would've took a photo of the pretzel. It was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed it too much to stop and take a picture! read more

Great new place. Service very good. Food well priced and delicious. I had the strip steak and wife had Ahi tuna. Both cooked perfectly and served hot. Great bar. Entertainment was even good. I must say the ONLY negative comment would be that our friends got a house salad served in a bowl more like the size and shape for a cup of chili. Hard to eat. read more

This is the best food and service I have EVER had in the Santee region. My boyfriend said the shrimp and grits was the best he'd ever have, and we loved it so much we came back the very next morning for brunch, too. 10/10 recommend !! read more

I have been here a couple times. The food is very good. The service, however, is lacking. The staff have either no experience in the service industry or have not been trained properly. Both times my group went early and the place was fairly empty. The hostess seated us right next to the only other occupied table. We had to ask to be seated at another table for which the occupied table was grateful. The first server did not know the menu and charged us for an item that we had just asked about and did not order. The second server took our order and brought the salads. Almost immediately she brought out the food. There was no timing and the courses were not spaced out. I hope this feedback will be taken in the spirit for which it was given. I would hate to see this place close when the options are so limited in the area, but I know that people will tire of bad service no matter how good the food may be. read more

Over priced bar food. The pretzel is great, but if want want to dip it in beer cheese that's another $7. Yeah $7. for cheese. The owners also have a restaurant in Holly Hill (Copper House) the pretzel and cheese there cost $11. not the $13. they charge at C&B. Ordered a draft beer with the table order, everyone's drink came but mine, waited a few more minutes, looked over at the bar (only two people setting there), the bartender was on the phone laughing and cutting up. I got up, went to the bar to ask for my drink, the bartender couldn't have cared less, she finished her conversation before she took care of her customer. Won't be back read more

Service was fine. Two of us had steaks. So much marbling it was difficult to just eat. Spent way too much time trying to cut and figure out what to eat. The salad was good but was truly less than three bites. But the worse for me was I order a $15 dollar glass of wine a $45 steak w/bake potato and it came on a 8" maybe 10" corning ware plate and the silverware I swear was so thin and cheap you could have slid it under the closed door. You got a great thing going but......we won't come again. read more

We went for supper last night. We were craving the cheese curds from Copper House and found it had moved to Santee. It's better than before. The cheese curds were amazing which I got with the martini flight. First time having an Espresso martini and I've found a favorite. I also got the filet with brussel sprouts and baked potatoe. My husband got the tomahawk with the same sides. The steaks were perfect with temp and charring. Husband didn't love the sprouts but I happen to make the best so few who've had mine are 100% satisfied. Lol. The food was enough that we didn't get dessert. The bar was our chosen location and the bartender was wonderful with her attitude and recommendations. We were pleased enough that we bought the kitchen a round of shots. And I'm picky. I've worked in and love to eat fine dining in Charleston, SC. We will be coming back to try brunch . I did not think to get pics. Sorry. read more
