I have absolutely fallen in love with this place and all the employees. The girls just are fantastic, and every regard in the cooks are top-notch. One of the waitresses actually took my number down because I kept calling to see if they had a certain special added to the menu and she called me this morning at 7:15 and told me they didn't have it and I rushed right down and she made it feel like it was such a big deal anyways I just can't say enough good things about these wonderful people who run it! The prices are pretty typical for Charleston prices, but you're getting what you're pay for. I've been here eight years now and it's some of the best food I've had down here in the Low Country! I have driven by this restaurant in West Ashley so many times and we finally decided to check it out a few days ago. Parking is a breeze, right outside the door. The space inside is open, spacious & clean with booths and regular tables. Full view of all the kitchen action & several "Specials" boards on the walls. The staff are very welcoming, prompt & knowledgeable about the menu. I had a Tuna Melt sandwich with fries, my friend the Club with soup as a side. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. First time here and it was great! A nice hidden gem of a diner in West Ashley. Service is quite fast, food is delicious, and it is a very casual diner vibe here. I have been wanting a club sandwich and got the the dagwood which had the ham in it like I wanted! Large portions of turkey and ham, bacon was perfect and crispy. I will definitely get it again when I want a club sandwich. Boyfriend always enjoys the country fried steak when he gets it and is his go to order!! I had a bite and it was tasty! A hidden Gym in Charleston! I would have never thought twice about it had my friend not taken me there. There's plenty of seating for any size party and a large menu that will satisfy any craving. The friendly staff is also there to help you decide your meal. With great prices and large portions to boot! Definitely local diner vibes. I let my eyes eat instead of my stomach and needed up ordering too much. I ordered the Country fried steak cheese and egg biscuit, French toast, Harbor Saute, and the Montana Omlete. The food is good, but for their prices I expect a place to be more on point. For example, when one orders a meat with their breakfast, in this case it was pork chops, its reasonable to expect that it not come out so dry and chewy that a plate of gravy couldn't help it. I absolutely hate asking a place to make something again but this was bad. And for $18.00 I'd like to get the value for my money. Well, that wasn't about to happen. By the time the fresh, and properly cooked pork chops got back o was done with my breakfast and an extra 5 minutes had passed. One would think that a cook would prioritize a "come back," but I guess this one doesn't. Then there's the service. There were two waitresses taking care of a reasonably full dining room. By the lackluster way they were moving about one would think they had one table each. But what really got me was when our server, "A," set our plates down. Instead of using the arm that would keep the food in the middle of the table she used the arm closest to the seats. She passed the food right over me with her elbow so close to me I had to block it with my hand. I've been to the place a number of times. Enough to know that "A" is not a new server. I'd say that half the time I go there the service is ok and the other half it's rough. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few good experiences, but like I said, for their prices the service should be a lot better. read more

Five Star Friday!! In the last few weeks I've eaten here twice and have had incredible experiences. Each day they have a great amount of offerings on their specials board. They also have a very extensive regular menu. The first visit I had Sue's Special breakfast; 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a pancake. I normally wouldn't order something I can make at home, but I'm glad I did order it. Everything was tasty. Earlier this week I returned with a few members of one of my networking groups. We have an in-person meeting once a month on Monday's, so I made us a list of local restaurants that are open on Monday. The Bear E Patch it was! This visit I ordered the Cabo Wrap; grilled chicken, bacon, peppers, onions, cheese, and a spicy Cabo sauce. The sauce was a chipotle sauce. After my first couple bites I was in love with the grilled chicken. It was seasoned perfectly and juicy and oh so yummy. I was having a hard time finding the sauce, so I asked for an extra side of it. The sauce is so yummy too. I will definitely order this again! Every time I've been here (I used to go years ago when I lived in West Ashley) to my two most recent visits the staff is always excellent. My friend Paul who's been going here for years too said it was the first place he found in WA with a diverse staff and that's why he fell in love with supporting the Patch. I had dinner with friends here. The menu had quite a few eclectic items. It was fairly empty and we received great service. The food was very good, and unusual. Im not sure the ideas for entrees quite worked. I ordered a salmon app that was described as salmon puree on a baguette. It was more like chunks of salmon on wheat bread. But the other apps were yummy. Maybe they should be careful with the description. I shared a dessert with a friend, it was ice cream mainly. Just ok. Id like to go back and try again. It's been years since I had been to this hidden gem but we will def be making this a regular stop. The service was definitely From the moment we walked in we immediately felt like we were at home at this cozy family owned and operated Lowcountry cafe w/ an absolutely amazing menu! Everything we ordered was fresh and my husband and I were definitely trying each other's food! I had the sourdough French toast and it was cooked to absolute perfection! My husband had an egg white omelet w/mushroom and cheese w/ grits and a biscuit on the side and it was just the right amount of savory. I did eat most of his grits our daughter had the Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was also fresh and delicious! This place is hands-down a gem. It's locally owned and gives you the vibe of a mom & pop restaurant. True southern charm. When we walked in the place look packed and I was nervous about getting a table with six people during breakfast brunch. We were told wouldn't be long and they meant that. We were seated less than 10 minutes. This is the kind of place that people go for breakfast eat and leave. And I mean that in the best way possible it's like the guests know there's a a good bit of traffic during breakfast. And with good reason, the food & service was amazing. If you are looking for a local restaurant that the local goes to, this is it, this is one of those restaurants. On a Saturday, We arrived at 7:55am, three minutes before it opens, the parking lot only has a few cars, so we decided to sit in the car and wait. Well by 7:58am, the parking lot was starting to fill up. As soon as the door opens at 8am, we walked it and we can just find our own seats. By 8:15am, the place was packed and you have wait for a table. The service was excellent, all the staff was nice and kind. They always try to refill the coffee. The diner feels of the restaurant feels good, not feeling old and dirty. The food was great, I have the Skillet with Sausage, potatoes, onion, and peppers topped with gray, it also comes with two eggs and Grits. It was a lot of food. It tasted great and great value. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. But it does get busy. Staff is always friendly and makes recommendations if you ask. Very laid back atmosphere. So this was my very first time visiting. Far warning parking is sparse but you can park across the street. The menu is big. They have an array of food. I chose the Suzy platter. It came with grits, eggs, French toast, and your choice of meat. Everything was amazing. The staff was great and accommodating. The food came out really fast. One of the best breakfast spots in town! You may have to put your name on the list but they turn tables over quickly (without you feeling rushed while you're in there). Parking can get kind of tight but never too bad. We love their biscuits and grits. They have fun seasonal pancake flavors. The skillets are always nice and hot - you can definitely share one. Open single room setting, witty t-shirts for the staff, open one room setting, signs all over the walls, coffee runners all morning, daily specials and ice cream and milkshakes. Personally, I have to recommend the mushroom and cheese omelet with biscuit and grits. At $7.95 it's a steal and delicious. They get crowded, but no reservations. Closed on Sunday's. Be patient. They move quick with heavy turnaround of tables. Yet they never rush you No bills at the table. You have to go to the counter to get yours, so don't wait for it to come around. Coffee is ok, but tons of creamer packs. PS - Ketchup, hot sauce and other condiments are not on the tables. Ask when you order. read more

We were greeted upon entry and shortly after I was asked how many and if we preferred a table or a booth. We choose a booth ! It was pretty packed, on a Friday around 1:30. It was only one table and booth available! We were seated after the booth was cleared and cleaned. Once seated we received menus and our drink orders were taken! One member of my party wanted to order but the server advised that it was shift change and anyone could be taking care of us so it was no guarantee that she would be coming back. We told her we would all go ahead and place our order. Wouldn't you know she served us the whole time! She was very attentive! The food was fresh, hot and tasty! The Low Country Harbor Sauté was really good! We were splitting it and they even split it for us and put the scallops on the side because my friend didn't want any! That was very accommodating and they didn't charge us for sharing like some restaurant do. The menu has tons of variety and there is something for everyone ! It reminds you of a old fashioned hometown dinner! They serve breakfast all day! I have a variety of pies, cakes and desserts along with ice cream! Stayed a night in Charleston on our way to Orlando. Stopped here for a quick bite. I had the Teriyaki Shrimp and Chicken Quesadilla. It had just the right amount of teriyaki, not overwhelming. The fried green tomatoes were just ok, as I could really taste the flour. My husband had the Aoili Quesadilla which he really liked with the Cole slaw, which was really good. My husband and I stopped in for lunch the other day. I didn't know I wanted a Ruben but sure glad I ordered one! It honestly was one of the best I've had in a longggg time! Everything was perfectly proportioned and it was on fresh baked grilled, made in house)rye bread! YUM! Honestly if I ever need a Rueben again I'd be sure to come back here!! They serve different ones and there was even one on the special board, but I went with the original! Fresh corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing all grilled on their homemade light rye. My husband ordered the Western Burger which is a 1/3 beef patty, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, with onion rings on top drizzled with bbq sauce! It was great but mine was better... lol! Great little diner! Stopped for lunch and was surprised how wonderful this little gem was. Quick and wonderful service with homemade food. Husband had the fried chicken club and potato salad. The potato salad was different than what we have ever had and it was absolutely delicious! I had the grill turkey with vegetable beef soup. Best vegetable beef soup ever! We could tell the bread was baked fresh because the bread slices were uneven. When my husband went to pay the bill, there was a signed that said " fresh bread baked daily". : ) Definitely recommend!! read more

Food here is very oily. I got sandwiches the bread just soaked in grease. Very messy. I think my mistake was not coming for brunch.
