After the vague directions that it was shortly after the old pickup truck, we found it. And kept going back. The breakfast was excellent, but the cookies. Buy them all and then go back for more! Popular with the locals and busy, but it didn't float my boat. It is an old-fashioned food joint with old-fashioned food. It's popular with the firefighters (their station is across the street) and with other locals. Fried food and grits ... the people are nice enough, the service prompt and pleasant, but I'm just not a fan of their food. We were camping at Hunting Island, and we wanted some shrimp for dinner. We both ordered shrimp baskets, and they were delish. It satisfied our want for seafood. We were extremely disappointed in the customer service behind the register. We were met with an unkind attitude. She made us feel like we were a bother being there. YUM. Stopped by on a Sunday for an early dinner. Ordered the shrimp plate with grits and stewed tomatoes, slaw, and jalapeño hush puppies. The shrimp were crisp and well seasoned. The grits and tomatoes was a first for me and I liked the sweetness the tomatoes added to flavor. Loved the thin-sliced slaw. Hush puppies were good but they were my least favorite item on the plate. Im kinda disgusted and disappointed in the management after my visit today. Food and service were great but I saw a sign at the register saying if you cant smile and be in a good mood go home. To the management if you cant foster a work place that people feel safe in you failed. I wont be returning and I will make sure the people in my life dont as well until the management fix there issues. I feel bad for the employees because management must have slipped drastically the beedos ive been going to for years would never. You cant threaten employees jobs and income based on a smile. I have been going to Beedos for three years and the food has never disappointed myself or guest of mine that I have introduced to Beedos. The milkshakes are the best in town the the burgers are the bomb. I have been privileged enough to have enjoyed one of their Thanksgiving Catered meals and have ordered pies. Yet today after after entering numerous times w/an ADA complaint services animal I was told I could not sit inside as they did not allow pets. When I tried to inquire I was threatened with the Sheriff being called. I tired to give her the card with the rules as well as a toll free number and she refused. I told her to call the Sheriff knowing full well they would come and remove me. She informed me they had a sign (attached) and some people were allergic to dogs. All this occured after I placed, paid and was seated at a table. It was another guest the informed me of the situation. So we waited and the lady came back out and apologized after reviewing some emails but the embarrassment the lack of compassion, innorgance of complaiance and training has tranished my thoughts of returning as well as the guest that had joined me. read more

Stopped by for lunch while on our way out of harbor island. The cashier who took our order was friendly and helpful in making our choices. The inside of the restaurant was cute but the weather was so we decided to sit outside. I give the four stars because we waited about 30 minutes for our food to come out which was a bit incovenient since we were needing a quick stop on our drive. The food was great though. I had the adult chicken tender basket and the fancy sauce with it which was delicious. Their homemade ranch and honey mustard dipping sauces were great too! My parents enjoyed both their burger and fried balonga sandwich. We hope to come back to give it another chance sometime! read more

Placing an order was easy and fast. Person taking order was nice and patient with us since this was our first time dining here and was helpful and friendly. Quick serve style (order at counter and if dining in you get a number to place on table to be delivered but there's a dish bin to the place dishes after you are done eating/drinking) and self serve drip coffee/teas/water. I had been hearing about the shrimp and grits for years and they absolutely lived up to the hype. The ambience is very homey and casual. I will definitely be back to try the burgers. Their burgers are amazing. The meat is so flavorful and I love the onions on top. I don't love their special sauce though. They offer gluten free buns which is nice but the bun wasn't anything special . The fries and chicken fingers were also good. It's a fast casual restaurant so you order at the counter and the food comes out in about 5-10 minutes. read more

6-22-24 Saturday Hubby and I had a day trip to Beaufort and the surrounding islands. When it came for a place to eat we turned to Yelp. What a discovery! Just the kind of place that you love to find and the reason I Yelp. The place was packed but luckily we snagged a parking space off to the right once you pull off the road. Inside we got online and checked out the menu and boards for specials. I always favor the specials knowing they are made fresh daily. I ordered a Diet Dr. Pepper and the Shrimp Plate with grits and hush puppies. The hush puppies had a small container of a honey butter to dip them in. The grits had a flavorful sauce on top. Literally my first real introduction to Southern Grits but this place set the bar anything less would not be acceptable. Also got a sprinkle cookie for later probably knowing that the portions are more than generous. The food is exceptional and we look forward to coming back again soon. Hubby had the cheeseburger and is telling everyone it is the best he ever had. He is the most difficult person to please so this is a high compliment from him. Visited Beedos for lunch this past week end (9/24/2023) and still loving their burger! The service was fast when we ordered our food but the food took a while to cook. We also ordered ice late and cookies and cream milkshake and that came out in timely manner. We waited a while before we got our food and we came after 1 pm lunch rush hour so not sure what took them so long with our burger? that is why I put 4 stars review on this update review. This is an old building on the side of the road on the way to Fripp Island. It may have been the best food we had on this trip. We split the shrimp basket and the Beedo burger. The shrimp basket was delicious. Best shrimp of the week. Fresh and fried to perfection. The burger was one of the best smash burgers I ever had. The sides of creamed corn and butter bean salad were good as well. The banana pudding was good too. You order at the counter and they cook to order and bring to your table. Sadly they ran out of ice cream for a shake to go. I highly recommend this place and plan on stopping for breakfast on the way out of town. read more

Probably the best breakfast biscuits we've ever had! My husband tried the griddled sausage biscuit and I had the egg and cheese biscuit. They were generously sized with a crisp outside and fluffy inside. Everything was hot, homemade, and absolutely delicious. The kid's pancake was eaten so fast we didn't even see it go down! The grits were creamy and well seasoned, my oldest son loved his strawberry iced matcha, and the lemon chamomile muffin was so good we got a sampling to take home with us on the drive back. read more

We stopped here at Beedos on our way out of town from my Brothers Marine Bootcamp Graduation. It did not disappoint. Let's start with the Service. Everyone we encounter was extremely kind. The waitresses , bus boys and the gentleman running the front counter. They were very helpful in making suggestions on what to order and even helping with our little kiddos. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Coming from a big family I always appreciate those that appreciate children. They had toys and coloring books for our kiddos to enjoy while we waited. We were a party of 20 and we only waited about 25 minutes for everything. Food !!! The cookies and blueberry muffins were so sweet , soft and absolutely delicious. The soft shell crab sandwich and plate was cooked to absolute perfection. I wish I had ordered more before I left. The burgers was so well seasoned. I had the Beedos Burger and added bacon. The sauce was incredible and the crispy cheesy and bacon added the perfect crunch with the caramelized onion. The fried shrimp was the best we have had in awhile. Nice and crispy and juicy. Vegan options! We weren't sure we'd have vegan options on the island but Beedos delivered! You can get impossible sausage or tempeh bacon with Just Egg, vegan cheese. So good. Breakfast can be hard to come by as a vegan but this was awesome. The staff was knowledgeable and got our order right both times we went (2 days in a row yes). Small but has ample indoor and some outdoor seating. Some cute t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale too. 10/10 read more

Beedos is a nice place to stop after stopping at Dempsey Farms to pick strawberries. They have a breakfast menu, lunch menu and some specials. I've never had one of their burgers so had the special Bacon, Swiss & Mushroom burger. The thing that really made it was a 'special' sauce. So good! I ate half of the burger and had the rest today. Some of the best food I've ever tasted. It's on the main highway between Beaufort and St. Helena. I had the shrimp, grits with tomato compote, jalapeño hush puppies with maple butter, and coleslaw. These low country shrimp were next level on taste and just a light breading. The hush puppies with maple butter were light, not spicy, but a tiny bite to them and then that maple butter!!! The grits were the best I've had in the South. Gender neutral bathrooms, told me that the owners are probably like minded. Cute wall art, mixed with a Chuck Norris calendar. Well what can I say. Beedos is quite aways from downtown Beauford. I actually like this because I have a beach house within ¾ of a mile. It's a quirky resturant that serves a banging breakfast. This review is for breakfast only. First of all you should get there about 15 minutes before it opens or you might have a line. The quirky part is you get in line to order, sit and they'll bring food. Dont worry, you will have a waitress to attend to your needs. After we were done we sat and talked for a few minutes. During that time. No one came to clean off the table which lead to us cleaning off our own table. We'll they have the customary dish bins sitting there like they are waiting on you to deposit your dishes, and at most walk up resturants you do clean off your own table. It wasn't really clear what to do, and since you have a waitress, sort of, but she didnt come to clean table, well confusion sets in LOL. It just didn't seem like a normal restaurant from that standard. Sort of a hybrid resturant. Its kind of hard to explain. They are very structured. We came in one day at 11:05 am and the restaurant was empty but they still wouldn't serve us breakfast. Cut off is 11am, sharp. Anyway, enough of that. Thanks for letting me ramble incoherently. Back to food, it is the reason you come here. Our family had breakfast plates with om eggs, bacon or the grit bowl. The eggs were cooked so perfect I had to pinch myself. They may be the only resturant in Beauford that can cook an egg. (Sent eggs back, elsewhere, for 2 mornings in a row) so I was pleased. Bacon was perfect crispy yet not like eating hard candy. The grit bowls stole the show. Comes with bacon or sausage, collard greens, tomatoes eggs, cheese. Add a drop of hot sauce and man it flies into space. Just delicious. You had three choices of coffee. Be careful which you choose. My choice, "Jamaic-me crazy" well for me it sucked, but my son loved it. You'll have to be the judge, lots of opinions on that coffee bean. Try Beedos, its really good. Quirky but good. read more
