Once we arrived, the ladies working were extremely friendly and they gave us ample time to check out their merchandise before our adventure started. The kayaks and paddles were in good condition. There are several different routes you can take, a 2 and a 4 mile loop were suggested to us. All the routes will take you past the downtown swing bridge. I would suggest going with the tide either going out or coming back (unless you enjoy paddling the entire time). They also sell kayaks and equipment. They told me that before I purchased a kayak or Hobie fishing kayak, that I could test them in the river. They want you to be happy with your purchase. I will definitely be supporting this business in the future.

Anyway, we walked thru the store, lots of nice mugs to choose from and so much variety of clothes, gifts & water stuff. There was a section with lotions, then candy in the back. Nice shop. It has to be at least three times as wide as Surfs Up. This greater size means more goods, and there are! Items such as shirts, boards, souvenirs, signs, and more are sold, and there is a wide selection for each item. This store will meet all your souvenir and surf shopping needs! The down side to this store is some of the content of the items. A lot of the shirts have inappropriate language or pictures that kids should not be seeing. My group had some small kids that could read and they were reading some of the inappropriate shirts. Even thought they might not understand, they still saw it and can repeat it. In fact, a lot of these shirts were displayed outside on the wall of the store. Please be more careful about these items. Overall, this is a very great place to shop, but not with kids around.

I…read moregrew up going here as a laid back surf spot and now it seems to be a pain, and I usually go elsewhere on the beach now. The machine only takes $1, $5, or $10 in cash and does not return any change. The rate is $3 an hour and you then get a ticket to place in your dash. I did actually learn from an out of towner that there is an app that can be downloaded called Passport Parking. It offers a discounted rate, but is still $2.50 an hour. I think the rate is a deterrent IMO, but I guess the city of Folly Beach has to generate revenue somehow. At high tide, there is not a lot of beach area, but after the renourishments, there is some beach at least. Do not climb across the rocks! Use the crosswalks instead and save the sea oats...the few that still exist. Also, do not litter! There are trash receptacles scattered along the beach, usually at crosswalks, but pack your stuff in and out like an adult. This location is locally named for the strong currents and the fact that the narrow land has actually been washed out. After Hurricane Hugo, a lot of effort went into re-creating the road and beach that exists today. It was completely washed through to the River with a drop off of probably 20-30 feet where the road should have been. The name was used way prior to Hugo, but that event just embodies the vulnerability of the area and the potential impact of the wonderful surf/waves that we all love. Pura Vida!

They have some gourmet cheeses, ready-made soups and dips and pastas. There are some kitchen utensils and an assortment of accessories as well. There's wall art. Charcuterie boards as well as some other so she did items. We can easily put together a touring from the salamis and meats and cheese blocks in the fridge. They also have an assortment of liquor and mixed drink items, including the Charleston bloody Mary mix, which is good. He will let you try whatever has a sign as a sample. Just let them know what you want to try and they will give you a sample, they have open containers behind the register where they will dispense the samples from. The woman working here was friendly and informative up about all the items in the store. Bought a bottle of the southern devil bloody Mary mix from Charleston, as well as the Boscoli Italian olive salad in the Bueno taco dip and dill pickle dip. Our bill was $$33.96.
