Nice little diner style shop tucked away on Bay Street. The wife and I stopped in for a small, quick lunch during our first visit to the area. Of all their choices, we both got a hotdog combo. Mine, plain with yellow mustard. Hers, ketchup, mustard and crispy fried onions. We both enjoyed them but the thing that got our attention was the "snap" when taking a bite of the dog.....just as it should be. Probably the one thing that would push them over the top would be to toast the buns. The ladies waiting on us and cooking were both very friendly. We'll be back next time we're in the area. read more

Everything was very fresh and tasty, we are so glad we pulled off 95 for this special place. It looked like a lot of hometown diners and travelers like ourselves were there for lunch. They have about 6 varieties from All American to Cha Cha Chili with more than 10 toppings choices. Sides for combos were a deviled egg, small potato salad, black eyed pea "salad" or coleslaw. Kids ordering a pb&j don't want a black eyed pea salad - they want chips, but OK. Tea was overly sweet (and I like sweet) and hotdogs were brown (left on roll cooker too long). Prices do not match the quality of food or service. I'm sure the ice cream is better so I'm not giving them 1 star. I'd go elsewhere for lunch. read more

Rate a 1 star - only because it won't let me put a zero. My son and I were sitting at one of their outside tables waiting for my wife and daughter to finish shopping. I was thumbing thru the local paper. The female worker came out and told us that we had to buy something to sit there. It was 10:45 in the morning on Christmas Eve with not a soul around. Had lunch here today and it was really good. The sandwiches come with a homemade side (choices are: potato salad, cole slaw, some type of black-eyed pea salad and I can't remember the other choice). I'm always leary of potato salad in a sandwich shop because I am picky when it comes to potato salad, but I took a chance and yes it was homemade and delish! I had the BLT and it was good - 3 slices of bacon, lettuce, tomato and a flavored mayo. My hubby had pimento cheese on a croissant and he loved it. The place was extremely busy with three ladies working. They informed those of us who ordered a meal that it would be around 20 minutes.
