Even after decades of living in other states, most of the food we miss is from the Windy City. Imagine our surprise, when we found out the gracious owners of this food truck are from the Chicago area and their menu is peppered with some of our absolute favorites - Italian beef and a loaded Chi town hot dog! The smash burgers are ridiculously good. If you think Beedos has the beef, think again. The patties here are expertly cooked, with just the right amount of crispy edges, and juicy meat. Probably one of our top 3 burgers of all time. The menu also offers up patty melts, chili, a Reuben, chicken ( wraps, tenders & a quesadillas), sides like crinkle cuts, onion rings, coleslaw and mozzarella sticks. The truck is usually parked on St. Helena, right across from the Seaside Bar & Grill. There is no question, we will be back!

I walked up to the counter, apologized for bothering them, asked if they could cut it in half for me. I thought this one guy was going to explode! He raised his voice and said we can't take it back. I was so startled at his demeanor, I guess he thought I did not understand, so he repeated his comment. Then, he said, " We have knives over there". So, I turned around, got a knife and cut my burger. No problem. There was no reason for him to raise his voice and act like he was in a flurry of customers. It was around 2 pm or so. There were 4 customers sitting at a table. I always leave a decent tip and I have NEVER had any problem at this 5 Guys or in any other location. Ironically, the cook, smashed all the juice out of the burger, leaving it try. Then he piles all the condiments in the middle of the sandwich, patties off the side of the bun, tons of lettuce! It really doesn't take much to build a good burger but not at this five guys. The place was empty, clean....wonder why! The best part of our dinner was the fries-good. Burger King has a better flavored burger at a much cheaper price. If not for a corporate ownership, this place would be closed.
