Very cool dive feel when you walk in, with the bar and pool table, money hanging from the walls. But as you walk to the back it opens up to the water with a beautiful backdrop of the lagoon. Very very cool. With the outside bar and live music, it's pretty neat. I really enjoyed myself here. Service was prompt, and friendly. I was greeted from the moment I walked in. I like that. We ordered some food (we were starving) and I want to give the cooks a compliment on the chicken caesar wrap, it was surprisingly very well made. I wasn't expecting much but great job! I hope to come back and enjoy another view on that back patio. Thanks for the memories. Cheers!

With just a few tweaks to the menu this can be a 5 star experience! I was looking forward to coming…read morehere after looking at some of the reviews online as well as some of the photos with it being along the water. Unfortunately, on the day that I visited, it was pretty rainy and wet, which made the views not as ideal, however, it was still a great experience. I enjoyed the painkiller, and we also ordered a lemoncello spritz, which was fantastic! We both opted for something quick and went for a fried shrimp basket and fried flounder for me the shrimp was pretty good well seasoned and well battered the cocktail sauce was amazing and very horseradish forward, which is my preference unfortunately the batter on the fish fell off and the fish itself didn't seem seasoned so the flavor was lacking. I think it would be worth revamping their offerings a bit but absolutely a cool spot and I'd go again!

We could have a very enjoyable conversation. I first ordered their special mojito but it was not what I was expecting. So I sent it back and ordered a gimlet. That was better, although the drink was a bit tart... not sure if brand or quantity of lime juice was the issue. I ordered the salmon, at 120-125 degree temp... well it was still cooked medium instead of medium rare. Tasted good. No sauce, which I asked for. But too salty... unnecessarily salty. I will try again but order RARE and see if they can cook to temp. The roasted potatoes were delicious, but for someone who watches oil intake... way too much oil was used. But I loved the way they smashed them a bit. The vericot verts were cooked to perfection and not salty. Yummy. My husband ordered the grilled tuna. He said his was great. So next time, I may order tuna instead. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

This restaurant is a walk back in time. This house has dark hardwood floors that embrace the age…read moreof the house, while the interior windows set the stage where one could be in a living room with friends looking out to the ocean as much as dining in a restaurant. A woodburning furnace crowns the middle of the room, and one could imagine watching the fire pop and dance inside the blackened heater. The team had guzzied up the interior for Christmas, with green garlands, red balls, and a fully decorated tree. The food was incredible: Pimento cheese oozing on top of crackers, a steak smothered in a Diane sauce- mushrooms reduced in a brandy. There were smiles all around as the cream cheese crap dip made the rounds- the bowl was scraped dry by the end. And in the spirit of christmas, the bartender created a margarita with a cinnamon twist- Cranberry on ice with an aged-blanco tequila and a rim dusted with sugar & spice. Service was where the restaurant has room to improve. The server lacked the attentiveness that might be expected in a fine-dining restaurant. And while there is certainly finer dining available around Beaufort and Port Royal, elevated service at this price point would make this restaurant a star.

The Rooster had so many great reviews however fell flat for us. Considering so little customers seated, breakfast took a very long time to come out. The pancakes were heavy and didn't come with anything so hubby ordered Al la cart eggs and smoked sausage aka is kielbasa which he didn't know prior to ordering. I ordered the southern sunrise, eggs were good so was the bacon nice and crispy, cheesy grits were just ok not great and the biscuits was a little heavy. All the butter was frozen solid so not easy to put on pancakes & biscuit. Mediocre at best and NOT worth the price we paid for breakfast. We wouldn't return.
