This place has all the vibes - really cool shopping center pub that plays EPL matches - exactly what I was looking for during a brief work break this past Sunday I ordered the burger which was cooked to perfection - I didn't specify with waiter & it was cooked medium rare - fries were crispy 10/10

Ouch this place hurt alot. My wife and i got our hopes up for breakfast here. It was very bland was not exactly at all what I thought. very disappointing as the food quality was very subpar. We were here a while ago and the food was OK then but we figured breakfast would be different but this was definitely a disappointment not coming here again. I prefer other bars in the area to this place and that says a lot. I have a lot of experience in food and this was just very much of a disappointment. The girl that waited on us was very nice, but also did not come back for us unless I had to ask for her.

I really like this place overall. It has a legitimate Pub feel complete with the dark wood bar. They have friendly bartenders and staff. I sat at the bar for both of my visits but wandered around the entire place to get the entire feel of the place. The beer selection is good but not great. They stick to traditional Pub beers like Guinness etc. They have a full bar and pour some good drinks! Sitting at the bar, it was quite easy to strike up conversations with the people sitting next to me and the bartender (which happened to be the owner too). As far as food, I can't speak on everything but, in general, it was good. The guy sitting next to me (a regular) insisted that I should get the English Dip. Sure enough, it was quite good and was definitely a large portion! I was, however, disappointed with the Scotch Eggs. They were Luke warm and had been microwaved to reheat them as the eggs had a rubbery texture. I would definitely not get them again unless they improve how they are prepared. Cheers!

Every bit as good as the one in HHI. The fish and chips are delicious as is the shrimp. My wife had the beef and mushroom pie which is a classic British dish and it held true to the tradition.

Pub wellingtons

This place had been on my radar since the early stages of planning my trip to the Lowcountry.  We started with the Pub Wellingtons, basically mini Beef Wellingtons served over brown gravy. I'm not a Wellington fan, but I did like these. There was melted bleu cheese, some mushrooms, and they helped to enhance the flavor of the beef.  Since I was in a UK pub, I pretty much had to go with fish and chips. The portion was more than acceptable, 9 ounces of cod that had been beer battered, the way God intended fried fish to be prepared. And sure enough, the fish came out crispy outside and flaky on the inside. The fries weren't fresh cut, but they were still well seasoned and crispy. I asked for a ramekin of honey mustard and it was a perfect dipping sauce for the fries. Tartar sauce and slaw were fine too.

Dinner Liver @ onions with bacon The rest ya can tell . Delicious..

Went for breakfast. Decent food, but was a little slow coming out. Service good. Get there early as it gets busy.

One of my favorites is their liver and onions, I have not ever had a tough piece of liver. The service is great also.

The reason I go to this restaurant is the best breakfast around and for the small stones they serve at breakfast time.

Fish and chips not authentic English. Too much breading and tasteless fish. Everything blah. Won't go there again.

British Open Pub - Side Salad

We have dined here for 25 years…read more Arguably the most British dining on HHI. My dear wife simply will Not prepare liver and onions; nor will she scramble squirrel brains with eggs. British Open Pub does not prepare squirrel, but they do great with liver and onions - the bacon is the secret. Travel tip: Elect a patio table for neat views and quiet. Our excellent server Jennifer continues the tradition of great service at BOP. BOP was one of first Sports Bar on the island. Small property is divided between bar and restaurant, but we recommend patio dining. Perhaps it has been some time since the owners experienced actual British dining.... Missing is the ever present chicken dinner; also we cannot recommend their version of French Onion soup (we recommend a visit to Chez George.)

This review is for British Pub on HHI…read more POSITIVES: 1) The second delivery of the pot pie (after it was sent back) was excellent in taste, but see below. 2) The water was wet. NEGATIVES: 1) The wait for service after being seated was too long. 2) The server ghosted us after the meal was delivered. 3) The ribs were tough, and not up to the quality we consistently receive at the Bluffton location. 4) The sides were served haphazardly on the plate with one overlapping the other. 5) The pot pie's crust was badly overdone / burnt. The second delivery of the pot pie appeared to be the pot pie I sent back with the upper crust removed and a new one plopped on top. So, when I tried to remove the spoon that was stuck through the crust the entire thing came off the pie. 6) As we were nearing the completion of our meal we received multiple visits from the reception hostess and kitchen staff trying to remove plates from the table before we were finished. Again on the positive side, however, the waitress was very nice to us when it came time to pay the check.

I inquired about the Fish & Chips and she was honest, stating that is purchased as previously battered and frozen. I skipped the Fish & Chips and ordered the hamburger described as "Custom Blended Beef" and the Chips as the side selection. I would rate the Hamburger at a solid 5 out of 10 and the Chips at 8. My fiancee ordered the Ruben with French Fries. She rated her sandwich as just okay stating the sauerkraut was just bland. I tried the sauerkraut and she was correct, as always, it was just bland. On a side note, a family a eleven came into the outside dining area. The server pulled two square tables together to seat six and pointed to a side round table to seat five. As the server went inside the family had a discussion and pulled the two square tables and two round tables together so they could all sit as a group. The server reemerged and was not amused. The family stated that the barmaid inside said that they could all sit together. The server said that the barmaid does not work outside and that she may need that round for other people and started to pull the tables apart. They ended up leaving.

My husband had the special... a pulled pork sandwich with shoestring fries and I had the Earl Sandwich with macaroni salad. Let me tell you, the macaroni salad was awesome:.. and the sandwiches were delicious. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we come to Hilton Head every year. Oh... I forgot to mention the music. They played classic rock at the perfect volume. All in all, we really liked it and will for sure be back.
