Hi Everyone, When you unsure of what you feel like eating, what do you do? We like to frequent a restaurant with a good variety of entrees from which to select our meal. We sometimes prefer a cocktail or a glass of wine with diner and will occasionally have a tap only Guinness with our meal. We expect good service because we do not wish to wait, as most of us don't, because we have our lives to live and for some reason, we have gotten quite used to delicious, hot food! lol. If you're looking for family-type pricing and filling pub food, this is the place. There's a fun looking bar (filled with golfers and the like) and booths or high tops for the diners--mostly elderly couples the day we arrived for an early dinner. Again, the menu is UK-esque meat-and-potatoes based or fried fish forward. My friend had the fish n chips--pretty standard beer-battered fish filets with steak fries and cole slaw. I decided to try shrimp n chips. Aside from the voluminously thick batter, the shrimp was plump and flavorful (unlike the Atlantic shrimp I'm used to). I appreciated being given both tartar and cocktail sauces. KUDOS FOR REMOVING SHRIMP TAILS! There was prime rib offered that evening and that also looked from what I saw walking by. Our server was friendly and warm. The credit card machine was down, so it was checks (!) or cash only. Ouch this place hurt alot. My wife and i got our hopes up for breakfast here. It was very bland was not exactly at all what I thought. very disappointing as the food quality was very subpar. We were here a while ago and the food was OK then but we figured breakfast would be different but this was definitely a disappointment not coming here again. I prefer other bars in the area to this place and that says a lot. I have a lot of experience in food and this was just very much of a disappointment. I really like this place overall. It has a legitimate Pub feel complete with the dark wood bar. They have friendly bartenders and staff. I sat at the bar for both of my visits but wandered around the entire place to get the entire feel of the place. The beer selection is good but not great. They stick to traditional Pub beers like Guinness etc. They have a full bar and pour some good drinks! Sitting at the bar, it was quite easy to strike up conversations with the people sitting next to me and the bartender (which happened to be the owner too). As far as food, I can't speak on everything but, in general, it was good. The guy sitting next to me (a regular) insisted that I should get the English Dip. Sure enough, it was quite good and was definitely a large portion! I was, however, disappointed with the Scotch Eggs. They were Luke warm and had been microwaved to reheat them as the eggs had a rubbery texture. I would definitely not get them again unless they improve how they are prepared. Cheers! read more

This place had been on my radar since the early stages of planning my trip to the Lowcountry.  We started with the Pub Wellingtons, basically mini Beef Wellingtons served over brown gravy. I'm not a Wellington fan, but I did like these. There was melted bleu cheese, some mushrooms, and they helped to enhance the flavor of the beef.  Since I was in a UK pub, I pretty much had to go with fish and chips. The portion was more than acceptable, 9 ounces of cod that had been beer battered, the way God intended fried fish to be prepared. And sure enough, the fish came out crispy outside and flaky on the inside. The fries weren't fresh cut, but they were still well seasoned and crispy. I asked for a ramekin of honey mustard and it was a perfect dipping sauce for the fries. Tartar sauce and slaw were fine too. read more

Well, I reviewed BOP 5 or 6 years ago. This location is Bluffton. Well, I continue to be supportive. The staff is extremely friendly if U have children the staff goes on overload to make the children comfortable. The family environment matters. Lots of retirees here too. Everyone is friendly. It's difficult to pick restaurants post COVID. I may be cranky but the work ethic of many restaurants is needing a reawakening, the economy is confusing; lots of folks still enjoy eating out. They say you only get one chance to make a good impression. And they did. My friend and I went for lunch. I gave two stars. One was for the meal and the service. One was because my friend said she had come for dinner the month before and it was pretty good. I had a Reuben and my friend had a tuna melt. While the Reuben had a lot of meat, it wasn't good meat. Sauce was on it and I think it had been put in the microwave because the cheese was so melted it was almost non existent. Meat was barely warm and the bread wasn't toasted at all. It was ok, but I wouldn't say it was good. My friends tuna melt was also on rye...weird and it was completely cold. Fries were also cold. Finally got a waitresses attention (not ours) who took the sandwich back, came back 5 minutes later. Bread was toasted, insides were still cold and same fries which were now completely cold. Waitress never returned. It was not busy. Finally found her and asked for the bill. 10 minutes later got the bill. Told her we needed to pay and leave. Had to hunt her down again. I went here earlier this year and I had a horrible experience. I ordered the well advertised, "Delicious Fish & Chips," I see that they now have a "FABULOUS FISH FRY ALL DAY & NIGHT SPECIAL Tuesday thru Friday." Just be careful though; because when I ordered the fish and chips, the fish wreaked of Bleach!!! Yes, Bleach!!! I was horrified and sickened. Thank God my olfactory system was working very well and I could smell the fish just as it reached my mouth. A small piece got in and my other system, which I won't mention, quickly set in. I will never trust this place again!!! If you do try it, make sure you have some Pepto-Bismol in your pocket or purse. Good luck! read more

Thought British pub would have Bottington, Harp or other national brews but the patron at the bar recommended a beer that turned out fine. The fish n chips were good and will come back again. My god, was this disappointing! I honestly worried at one point if I had Covid and lost my sense of taste. A "British Pub" that can't even do fish and chips? The chicken was worse than the frozen chicken tenders I use to serve my kids. No color and no flavor. All the food had ZERO flavor, none! The only good part of the meal was my beer. Really good breakfast! Typical Pub atmosphere, good service and prices are comparable for the area.

The reason I go to this restaurant is the best breakfast around and for the small stones they serve at breakfast time.

Popular place, always seems to be crowded. Stopped in tonight, was gonna eat at the bar. The bar was full. So I go over to the hostess stand and make the mistake of waiting for a table, of which there were five or six open tables. All the while there are people walking in from outside and claiming these tables - so it's apparently a grab a table and don't wait for the hostess. So I say to the host, do I just grab one of these open tables? You know, to be respectful and not be a dick. The guy looks at me and tells me they don't seat solo people at the tables. As I look around I see at least two solo diners. Ok, I get it, they want to make some cash. Just not cash from solo diners. So I head down the street and give thirty bucks to some other place. Not a bad little joint for lunch. I hadn't had fish and chips for quite a while. I noticed this place was nearby, and since I love the English delicacy, I decided to enjoy this for lunch. The food was pretty good. The fish was crispy but lacked flavor. Another huge turnover was that the fish was literally dripping with grease. Every time I took a bite, a little grease dripped out the bottom of the cod encasement. Not exactly a turn-on. Fries were edible and quite delicious. I doubt I would go back because it was $18 for lunch, but I have certainly had worse, although never one with this much grease drippage. read more

After hearing from a friend that this was a good restaurant and that they had good omelettes, we decided to give it a try. Before we went I looked over some of the reviews on Yelp and was concerned about so many negative reviews. We decided to give it a try anyway and we are glad we did. We took and friend and the three of us went for brunch after Easter Mass. My wife and I had the vegetable omelette and our friend ordered the Old Morris Tom Omelette. First, they served two small raspberry scones each that were warm and wonderful. The coffee was fresh and good, probably because they had just opened. The service was excellent. Our server was Stephanie and she did an excellent job of serving us with a smile which is rare these days. The food was excellent. The omelettes exceeding our expectations. Our friend who we have frequently gone out to breakfast with said it was his favorite of the places we've been to.
