The service was decent. I think it more of a local place. As a new person that just moved here. You really feel like an outsider. The fish and chips were decent. Nothing really bad to say about them. Hand battered Cod with good seasoning and the fries were ok. Needed seasoning on them though I'd order it again. We went to celebrate St Pat's day and we're very disappointed with the host. He was very rude to us. He said it would be a 30 minute wait and after 20 minutes we went to check in and he said he called us 4x. He lied. Then he sat us and wouldn't wait on us even though our other 2 guests arrived. He said to leave even though we still had drinks left. There were other diners of 2 at a 4 top and even the booth behind us. He never mentioned all our guests have to be there to sit. There's one thing for certain in this area. Not many restaurants in Bluffton are open on Sunday. I would think with tourist season amongst us, more restaurants would extend hours. Glad the Katie O'Donalds was open. Very nice menu and selection of beers on draught. Not too expensive either. Very nice Irish Pub type vibe once you're inside. They do have outside dining, but in the oppresive heat, not a great idea. We had a group of 6 and were seated right away. Our server was excellent. My wife ordered the French Onion Soup and a half turkey sandwich. She said both were great. I ordered the Oyster Po-Boy. I would highly recommend. The fried oysters were plentiful and very tender. Found this place with Yelp's help. And, they were opened for lunch @ 11:00.!!! Walking in just as they opened, atmosphere was very warm. But, most Irish Pubs are !! Britney was our Bartender and greeted us with a welcome smile. Ordered some drinks as we looked through the menu. LOTS of delicious items from which to choose. We ordered the Caesar Grilled Chicken wrap with onion rings to share. Also got a side of coleslaw, which was delicious. Our only wish would have been to have a few more onion rings though, we only got 4 on our plate. St. Patrick's Day 2023 post Covid pandemic! No longer the outside tent with the Irish Music at Katie O'Donald's. My favorite lunch on St. Patrick's Day was Kevin Barry's Irish Pub in Savannah, GA with a Comedian, and Irish band however, like many changes it has gone the way of the west! However, on St. Patrick's Day it is really fun to sit and dine with other Americans of Irish descent over over good food and a Pint or two of Guinness which is exactly is exactly what Katie O'Donald's is all about. Green everywhere, friendly, and exquisite conversation with people you do not know at all. Diana my server was a delight and my Fish and chips was expertly cooked offering one smaller, and on huge piece of fried cod which was delicious with very tasty fries and was a very reasonably priced even for pre-Covid pandemic. In my opinion, while some have lost their sense of humor in the United States in being able to laugh at themselves, others, both friend and foe alike Katie O'Donald's gives us all an opportunity to good food, relax, and enjoy a plethora of interesting, fun loving, and down to earth people. Do yourself a favor, take a trip on the fun side while enjoying great food from a fine restaurant, tell a joke, and maybe make a new friend! Went at 6:00PM on a Saturday and we were seated instantly. Our waitress/hostess was excellent, she kept the sweet tea filled and checked in with us often. We ordered the fish and chips and the special tonight, beef tips and mashed potatoes. Our ordered arrived very promptly. The fish was a lightly beer battered white fish and was crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside. The chips/fries were really crispy and were somewhere between a straw fry and a steak fry (definitely will order the fries again in the future, very good). The beef tip dish was loaded with beef and was in a rich wine sauce. I can't give an honest review on the beef tips, my wife was between the turkey and the beef and I think she had buyers remorse (she'll have the turkey next time.) All in all good food, friendly service, fast delivery. Clean restrooms with paper towels. If you are after casual dining, it's a highly recommend from me. read more

Stopped there for a quick meal and was not disappointed. Without a reservation we were quickly seated. The staff was super friendly. Looked at a decently sized meal settling on the chili, the cottage pie and the chicken parmesan. Everything was real good. The portion size was so large neither of us could finish. We were at Katie's today at lunch. It was busy! Found a table and server made her way to us. She was the only server in the place other than the bartender. This young woman did an admirable job and was running! We had one of the lunch specials and we're very happy with it. Before the outside in the front looked sort of shabby, but now they have about 3 high-top tables out there for those that want to sit outside and it looks a lot better. The dining room area is very nice for a pub. Recommend you try it if you're in the area. read more

How a Irish pub does not serve potato leak soup or Irish bread is beyond me?? No Scottish eggs?? Friendly knowledgeable servers, and a great BAR with food at reasonable prices. Went here for bottomless mimosas that are 4$ with an entree. Great deal. Food was yummy. Had an omelette. Kind of small in portion size but it was good. Came to KOD on Saturday 10/29 with out of town family. We've been here numerous times before and have always loved the food and staff. We sat at a high top table and we were served by the rudest and most unfriendly waitress I've ever had to deal with. Not only was she nasty but she was completely bothered every time we spoke to her. I wish I knew her name but if her owners of KOD don't address her attitude she will certainly drive away many more customers than me. Pity because the place is great to hang out at.... read more

This is my second visit to Katie O' Donalds. The food has always been good., prices are on the high side. Today I visited during lunch, and found the service to be a real turn off from ever going back. I don't think it was the waitresses fault entirely as she must have been stressed by being the only server? She wasn't warm or very attentive. It set the mood and made me feel very unwelcomed. Out of towner staying at Hotel nearby. Went on first Wed of Month and had a great time. Live music and packed with great local crowd. Happy Hour 4-7 every night with drink and appetizer specials. I had the fried artichokes which were good but not spectacular, but the Bangers and Mash that I had for my entree were AWESOME. It was on their daily specials menu. The bartender Laura? was very nice, and made me feel very welcome. It had a very "Cheers" vibe and she seemed to know most everyone by name. I will definitely go back during the rest of my stay here. As far as this visit, and the Bangers and Mash especially, I would highly recommend. Next time I want to try the Cottage Pie which is on their regular menu.
