Great food, great service, great time for all! Best sports bar, wings ,burgers and staff!!!

***WARNING*** DO NOT DINE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE NICKLED AND DIME On 30 January 2026, I dined-in as a first-time patron at this establishment. I ordered Scarlet Knight, Fried Mushrooms and French Dip, which overall was good. The problem occurred when I reviewed my invoice and I notice a "Convenience Fee Convenience" of $1.30 unbeknownst me. I informed the waitress that I paying with a debit card versus a credit card so the charge should me removed. The waitress informed the manager in the back and he stated, "that's how we've done and we can't remove the fee. I educated the waitress/manager by law, it's illegal to (1) charge a patron the fee that are using a debit card, (2) the service fee was NOT disclosed or brief to me prior to service and (3) the restaurant doesn't have any signs or language indicating that all patrons will be charged a "convenience fee". The manager was very dismissive and "matter of factly" towards my grievance. This grievance is not solely for me but to protect and advocate for ALL patrons that opt to dine at the establishment. SOLUTION: 1. Create a sign regarding a, "Auto Convenience Fee Charge for ALL Credit Cards" 2. Place a label on ALL menus so patron understand the hidden charge prior to service being render. In turn, the patron have the option to proceed, leave the establish or visit the nearest ATM for cash. 3. Brief all employees to provide a disclaimer to all patrons so their options or rights are taken away. After specifically asking the waiter to ask the kitchen to go light on the salt on the fries (previous time they were inedible and I LOVE salt), he told me he was having trouble with the kitchen so best to say "no salt" and salt is on the table. I was fine with that. So the fries came with no salt, I added some. Unfortunately, the Philly Cheesesteak was salted to the max and essentially inedible. On the way out, after paying the bill which the waiter never delivered, when I saw him I mentioned nicely, he should advise the kitchen to go easy on salt. The waiter (wish I remembered his name) got all kinds of nasty. I wish I could revoke his tip which at the time I did not punish him for the salt debacle. I would plan on getting there early if you plan on sitting at the bar. The place gets packed quick! It's a complete Bills Backer Bar. Nice interior and plenty of TV's to catch a game. I was there because I heard their burgers were the best and they were out of burgers. So, I didn't end up eating. The food I saw coming out of the kitchen did look good though. We ALWAYS make it a point to stop here for happy hour when we visit Bluffton. Great happy hour, staff is always friendly and quick, and the food is THE BEST IN BLUFFTON. My personal favorite is the onion dip appetizer. Last visit we went to karaoke night and it did not disappoint. Bathrooms are clean and easy to find. They offer great outdoor seating. This place is an absolute MUST VISIT when in the area. read more

Great bar - good food from upstate NY. Beef on Weck is a rare find in the Lowcountry.

We love this bar! Been here multiple times and really enjoy all the food, beer, atmosphere and service. It's a Buffalo Bills Bar, which is impossible not to notice. Tons of TVs on literally every wall. Now let's talk about the food. Burgers are exceptional with many options and always cooked just exactly the way you ask them to. Wings are great and you can order them crispy or extra crispy with all the typical sauce choices. Hubby just ordered a Cuban and there was an actual breaded, fried pork cutlet on it. Blew our minds. Even their chicken tenders are completely worthy of praise. They also have one of our favorite beers on tap - Terrapin Hopsecutioner. Service is always spot on and you never ever feel ignored. Horrible experience if you are not a regular. Tried to dine with my sister and my niece on a Sunday afternoon around 330 and the place was packed, which is excellent! Sat at a table as there's no instruction on what you're supposed to do with yourself once you enter and we were quickly advised, the table was reserved. No problem the server had another table for us. Hung out for a couple minutes while he cleaned the table and he sat us. Ordered an appetizer. A few minutes later a bunch of obnoxious patrons came in and sat at the table in front of us and started pointing at us. They had mentioned something to the server and were pointing around us, but that was about it. Left the table and went to the restroom. Upon returning my sister and niece had been relocated to another table, and the table in front of us had merged our table together so they could seat a larger party that was not even present! Little disgusted by this because food was on our table and I really don't appreciate multiple hands moving my food items without my permission. It's disgusting! I asked my sister what had happened and she explained to me that the group in front of us just needed to have two tables joined for their party and that the server asked her to move and she was embarrassed and the party was staring her down so she moved. I have been in the hospitality business for many many many years and the last thing you ever should do is ask a table to remove itself that already has food to accommodate others who are not even present. Its rude and it pushes away new business. I did ask the heavily painted server for the bill and told him I was not happy that our table was moved and all he did was yell at me stating she said it was OK. No offer to handle the bill no offer to try to accommodate anything in other words if you're not a part of the pack get out. I hope everybody is aware of this if you're an outsider, it's extremely uncomfortable and you are not welcome especially on a Sunday. read more

As far as "good ol' local bars" go, this one may be my new favorite. I had no idea they were even there! Hidden somewhere in the back of Plantation Park, you need to know it's there because you won't see it from the road. We met there with several friends. Everyone wears masks and socially distances. You can eat outside or inside as well. Plenty of TV's for sports. It's a Buffalo themed bar with many upstate NY references. Living in upstate NY for a couple of years, I know what a Beef on a Weck is. If you don't know what it is, you just need to try it. Their online menu never shows the drinks which is why I specifically took the pic (just for my own memory). Most of their craft beers come in a bottle. They do have a few beers on draft and their only craft beer at the time was Southbound Brewing's Hop'lin IPA. My wife and I shared the loaded fries which were exceptional. Enough to feed the entire table. I had their spicy garlic wings which weren't too hot, but very flavorful with minced garlic. The wings were fried nicely with a good crispness to them. I suppose if it's a Buffalo style bar, they better have great wings!! Many different wing sauces to choose from. Since we were there on Tuesday, they had great happy hour Taco Tuesday specials. I had the chicken and the pork taco. I strongly recommend the pork taco which was a nice hickory smoke flavor to the pork shred. Their happy hour specials are great. Second time eating here. This time we brought friends with us. Service is fast and friendly. Food is very good and the menu is pretty extensive. First time I had the beef on week. Week is a particular type of roll common in western upstate NY. Shortly after I tried it at r bar we found ourselves in Pulaski NY and I tried a beef on week in its native setting. No need to travel to NY for a beef on week, r bars was better. But don't let that stop you from visiting upstate NY, it's beautiful. But if you're in Bluffton r bar is the joint. Between our 2 visits we had 6 different entrees and all got rave reviews. Did I mention the onion rings we got for an app, best I've had in a very long time. read more

I just had the strangest dining experience I've had in a long time at R Bar. I've been there multiple times with my wife and we had a great time. On Feb 2, 2024, I went by myself to get take-out. When I entered, there was a young lady behind me. We found 2 of the last 2 seats at the bar. She was carded and served right away. I sat waiting while 2-3 bartenders waited on several patrons. I sat there for 5-10 minutes never approached by any bartender. The guy next to me received a pizza to-go, delivered right next to me and I was ignored. It was so strange. I'm black, 6'2" 215lbs...pretty hard to miss. I left, very surprised and disappointed. My wife is white and I very, very rarely use race as reason for bad service. However, in this case I'm dumb founded. I can't say I'll never go back. My wife likes the place. If I do, a side salad will be my meal, I won't spend more. In 2024, I thought we collectively were better. I guess not. BTW, shout out to Cheap Seats Tavern 2 in Bluffton. I got their wings after leaving R-Bar. Their wings are amazing. read more

Originally from Rochester, NY years ago, been in Bluffton 7 years now and just now found out they have a Bills bar from our friends who did their flooring. Instantly impressed with the bar staff. Brandon was enthusiastic, informative, and after learning it was our first time in wanted the food cooked exactly how we like it, down to the crisp on the wings. We mentioned living another establishments wings and he was determined to ensure our experience with theirs was going to be on point. They didn't disappoint. Wife's burger was cooked perfect medium rare. And the beef on weck wasn't bad. It's a great sports bar for games and ample room for everyone. Great "locals" spot. read more

The R Bar is a truly amazing establishment. It has a family run ambiance as the entire staff treats you as such. If your a sports fan no shortage of TVs. Not to mention the food is top notch pub fare. I recommend the chicken salad which is a newly offered menu item. A must stop whenever I am in town. read more

What a fun atmosphere to watch football games! Food is your typical bar food. It gets the job done. Excellent bartenders and wait staff. We got delivery on 10/14/2020. I ordered a blackened fish sandwich with extra tartar, along with the lettuce, tomato and onion it should have come with. First, it took one hour and forty-five minutes for the delivery of my order. Second, when it arrived, it was cold and soggy, and missing the tomato, onion, and any tartar sauce whatsoever. The bartender with curly hair cuts off my mother on Sunday during a football game, so I kindly and politely ask her not to do it again so I don't have to deal with the drama of my mother causing a scene and refusing to tip her. So she decides to tell me at a later date when I'm taking a coworker out for drinks, that "the next time I tell her how to do her job, will be the last time I'm served there", after being a reliable patron who tips 50% to my server for YEARS- as if she has the authority to even deny me service at ANY establishment. Don't come here if you want good drinks, poured by servers who don't think you owe them your hard earned money. Will not be returning. read more

We brought a group of 34 for a MLB game (WhiteSox vs Cubs) Sunday 8/29. Outstanding service by our dedicated servers. All food arrived hot, thanks to their great food runner. Drink orders were filled quickly and accurately. Private area for us, a screened porch, had multiple TV's so all could see the game. All thought the food, Sports Bar - type food, was really good. Would highly recommend for a mid-size group outing. And the food's good for a casual dinner too! read more
