Train wreck with collard greens and fried okra
    Alan B.

We drove past on our way through town and are very happy we stopped in. We ordered the train wreck meal with fried okra and collard greens. The bbq sause that I think was homemade was delicious. My favorite was the Carolina Gold sause. Joanne took our order after she made some good recommendations. We sat outside on the picnic tables and watched the cars drive by. We will be back for sure

My first time in South Carolina and I was eager to try some authentic South Carolina BBQ. Choo choo did not disappoint. The brisket and the pulled pork were incredible - perfectly tender with a classic smokey flavor. The sides were equally delicious - crispy coleslaw and a decadent potato salad. Service was wonderful. Friendly staff and we were served quickly. 100% recommend and I will be back at least once more on this trip.

    Seriously great food!

Seriously great food! The smoked pork is beyond tasty! The ribs are divine! Collard greens and potato salad is awesome! But don't skip the desserts! The thick rich banana pudding is nirvana as is the best I've ever had Red Velvet cake! Simply Incredible food!

This might be my new favorite bbq spot in South Carolina. Out of all the other barbecue joints I've been to in the area, this place stands alone. Nothing fancy, just quality. The ribs were the star of the show. Service was great and prices were fair.

The food was fresh and delicious, the service was excellent. Everything tasted absolutely homemade. Would totally be a regular if I lived in the area. Thank me later and get some food here.

It was quite chilly inside and they had the fans going which they said can't be turned off. They started us off with the cheesy biscuits/muffins which were so good, I had 2. For lunch I ordered the Classic Pulled Pork which came with 2 sides. I didn't notice that one of the side cost an additional $.99 which was the brisket chili. I still would have ordered it. The pulled pork was very tender and had a good smoke and BBQ flavor. I also recommend the BBQ corn on the cob. Had a nice seasoning blend along with a butter type blend soaked into the foil wrap. The one end of the corn has a large wooden skewer/toothpick for holding. It was very fresh and not overcooked. The pulled pork was $14.99. Our waitress Tracey did a great job serving the 7 of us. No problem with separate checks either.

2/21/26 visit…read more Ambiance: SBB has a standard bar feel. It has many tv's and a very lively atmosphere. 3/5. Side note: We sat next to a table of two young children who were watching videos on two different tablets with the volume blasting while their parents sat at an adjacent table with another couple. Parents of these children, have a little self awareness and tell your kids to put their tablets on mute or buy them some headphones or earbuds. WTF? Service: Our waitress did a good job of getting our drink orders correct and our food came out pretty quickly 4/5 Food: I had the patty melt and my wife had a burger. The food was above average. 3.5/5 The beer: This is where things went sideways . I've had SBB's core beers before and they are pretty solid, especially the Damn Yankee IPA. We decided to get two flights of beer. The flights had all 8 of their small batch releases. They were terrible. I would only order 1 out the 8 again. The two Belgian beers and the sour had a strong vinegar taste. The others were unremarkable. 1/5 I'd go back for the core beers and food, but would be very leery ordering any small batch beers Overall rating 2/5. It would have been a. 3/5 rating if I didn't order any small batch beers.

I love their…read morepulled pork and their fried chicken is probably the best I've ever had from a restaurant! They poke holes in the top of your to go container so that when you get home the crust on your chicken isn't soft bc it was steamed from the heat inside the box. They cook it to order which I love. Their brisket is delicious! You can taste the smoke and it's juicy and tender. But my very, very favorite is their ribs! They only have them on certain days. And bc I can only get Pistol Joe's when I'm home and have the time I don't always remember what days that is. I say this bc if my memory serves me correctly, they used to have a little tiny bifold board that sat on the counter in front of the cashier who takes your order that stated whether or not they had ribs that day. So Fri I went in and I didn't see that they had ribs (and I should have just asked, so that's my fault) so I ordered some chicken and then there was an an actual menu laying there (as opposed to the chalkboard hanging from the wall) and it said ribs Wed-Fri. So I quickly asked if they had ribs and the cashier said yes. So I changed my order immediately so I could get some of those ribs. When I went to get my sweet tea the owner (I'm assuming) called my name to let me know my order was ready. When I take my bag I look down and I see the little bifold sign sitting by where the cups are (to the left of the cashier and behind her) and it says ribs Wed-Fri. That's the sign that is usually in front of the cashier. The other side listed desserts or something, I actually can't remember. So I said to him I didn't realize you had ribs today until I saw the actual printed menu bc I'm used to the little bifold board saying whether or not you have ribs. He pointed to a spot underneath the big chalkboard and said "always look here to see if we have ribs that day". Which is fine, from now on I will look below the bottom right corner of the chalkboard to see if they have ribs but they still have that little bifold sign so why not use it? I mean I get if you're not using it anymore but when it's sitting there off to the side maybe get rid of the sign or put it back in front of the cashier. That's just my suggestion. Bc I'm so glad I glanced down at the printed menu bc they have some of THE best ribs (maybe the best) in town. You don't need any sauce. The flavor, the smoke, the tenderness of the ribs stand alone and don't need sauce. They are cooked to perfection! They pull away from the bone just by biting into them (fall of the bone ribs are not how you cook perfectly smoked ribs, they have to stay on the bone until you bite into them). And with the seasoning and the smoke it makes for a heavenly experience. I tried their mac & cheese a long time ago and didn't care for it so I never get it but I did this time around to see if anything had changed. Nope, nothing changed. Their mac & cheese tastes like boxed mac & cheese and if it's not I would be totally shocked. The only difference is that they have a lot of pepper in theirs, which I'm ok with bc I love pepper. But it definitely looks and tastes like boxed mac & cheese. I love their other sides. I would just avoid the mac. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out quickly unless you get fried chicken, you have to wait 15 minutes but it's worth the wait. When I changed my mind about the chicken when I realized they had ribs the young lady behind the register called out to the cook (owner? I'm not sure) and said change that chicken to ribs and he jokingly said "nope, no changing your order". We all laughed, that's another reason why I love this place is bc they treat you like friends. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. I got my order on Fri and it's Sun evening and I'm getting ready to eat my last rib. I've had them for the last 2 nights and I only go a half a rack. They know what they're doing with smoking meats.
