I could see how some people love this place, but the ice cream was not for us. If I had to go back I would get mango sorbet and stay away from the ice cream. We thought perhaps they went for quantity (big scoops) over quality (I only liked 2 of the 7 flavors I tried - not all of these were samples, my husband ordered two scoops and our girls had ice cream too). "Marine colors, chocolate interior, platoon number, etc." We drove almost an hour to pick this up. If it weren't for the editable paper insignia, one would guess it was for a baby shower with the colors used. To make matters worse, the lid smashed into the top layer while we were driving back. I should have NOT bought it but felt weird since we went to the guy's house to pick it up. His store front had closed. We ended up leaving it at the Airbnb and not presenting it to our marine because it looked so bad. I'm sure it tasted good, but lacked in presentation. I was really disappointed. Russ did offer to come by and fix the top but by the time we connected we were no longer at the house and the cake was in the trash.

There's a good bit of gelato flavor options. I got the regular scoops in a cup, but they offer cones, shakes and sandwiches too! I chose the crème brulée and peanut crunchies. I LOVE peanut crunchies - they're common where I grew up in Pittsburgh, but I never found them in Savannah until now. Yay!!! I sampled the cake batter, which was also super delish. Honestly, there are so many flavors I want to try. 5 stars for Honeysuckle!!
