One star is being generous.This was my first time visiting South Carolina. I'm here from New York City to see my son graduate from the Marines. Since Sonic was within walking distance, I decided to give it a try.Unfortunately, my first experience was terrible. The drive-thru window was filthy and covered in fingerprints. Looking inside, I saw someone sitting on the counter, boxes scattered all over the place, and flies throughout the restaurant. Usually not the worst. But tonight there were three kids working who seemed to have other priorities. Not only did we have to wait 19 minutes before anyone came to the window, but there was styrofoam in my sonic blast and in my husbands peanut butter shake. For some reason they drilled a hole in the bottom of the cup (assume that's why they gave us two cups stacked for each) and that styrofoam made it into our ice cream. read more

Every time I go through the Sonic drive-thru, John is the highlight of my visit! He's always cheerful, personable, and genuinely makes the experience better. Today he went above and beyond and made me a special cherry drink, and it was amazing. It's rare to find someone who takes the time to brighten your day, but John does it every time. I cant remember the last time I gave any business a one star ... but Sonic could nearly provide service that was good enough to earn a one star. I made an easy order ... A #1 burger with fries and a diet coke and a side order of chilli tots. Attempt #1 got me a #1 combo with cold fries. Told the car hop fries cold and no tots. She took the cold fries and left. She never spoke to me. Attempt #2 got me burned chilli tots and no fries. I decided to keep the burned tots. When I told the car hop that the fries were missing, she rolled her eyes and asked "you really wanted fries to?" I said yes. Attempt #3 yielded more cold fries ... Possibly the same ones. When I askes the car hope about that she turned and walked off. Not Sonics best attempt at customer service. read more

I ordered 6 drinks that's it and the lady at the drive though when we pulled up gave us 5 drinks. We said you forgot to give us our drink and she made me pay for another drink when she "forgot". So after holding my card for a little while and laughing we got those drinks ask for both receipts and only got handed one receipt with the second order with the two drinks she rang up. The second order was suppose to be one drink but we let it go because of everything else that was going on. read more

Service is slow. The wait at the drive through is longer than it should be. I get the impression that they are constantly understaffed. The food is just ok. I understand that they are low staffed, as most restaurants are now. But, me and some friends just had THE WORST experience here. Attempt 1- we had ordered our meals, asked to make the combos a large because we had read that we could do that. after asking, there was just no response. and then we had went on with the order and the lady was quite rude by just not responding to us. the lady had just assumed that we were finished with ordering (we were not), and our total appeared on the screen. so we waited about a minute or so and then pressed the button again. the lady then let us order, asking if it was a continuation of our order. we said no, and continued to order. we had received the food pretty quickly, i'd say. So we get the food, and then we check to make sure all of our food was there and exactly what we wanted. unfortunately, there was mayonnaise on the sandwich even though we did specify not wanting it. so we hit the button again. Attempt 2- we had told them about the sandwich. we were nice and calm. the lady still had an attitude with us, though. so we tell them about the sandwich, and they say that they'll bring it out to us. we waited. and waited. and waited. almost 20 or so minutes passed, and we had not received the burger. so we head to the drive through. we get there and the guy says "sorry we are no longer taking orders." so we told him about what happened and how we've been waiting for our sandwich, so he said "oh okay, give us a minute. we are busy right now." so we waited, again. and then the guy told us to pull forward. we pull up to the window, and tell the guy what type of sandwich we needed. a double bacon cheeseburger with no cheese or mayo. he yells back and says "HEY I NEED A DOUBLE BACON CHEESEBURGER, NO CHEESE NO MAYO." and then he checked back with us to make sure that was what we ordered, and then yells it back again, and we heard him yell it both times. so then we pulled forward like we were then asked to, and waited. within a minute or so, he comes out with the sandwich. we thank him, of course. we check the burger, and there's no bacon . we were not rude, and don't think we deserved the attitude and negative energy. all three of us ordering work in the food industry, and understand that being low staffed sucks. but we stay calm, and help our customers sufficiently and quickly. don't recommend this place. read more

Honestly my family and I love going to Sonic, but this Sonic is the worst. First the service was terrible. Secondly the foot long hotdogs I bought for myself and my two kids were all burnt.....black all over. Really the hotdogs were not even the worst part of this experience. The # 1 cheeseburger had a clump of hair in the burger itself....not a single strand of hair, but honest to god clump of hair! I came down with my family to South Carolina to watch my brother graduate the Marines. Since we didn't know the area we went to many places to eat. Out of all the places this is the only one we returned to. The food was tasty and service was great. One employee named Michael I believe was exceptional. I highly recommend trying it out if you're in town. read more

This place is awful, especially in the morning with a long wait while it seems like the same person who takes the order has to cook it too. Many times in the past few years our orders have been wrong, but last Friday night was the worst. We took our children for a fun family night out and while placing our order someone inside thought it would be funny to squeak some ear piercing toy into the speaker over and over. We complained and the employee apologized. It was no surprise then when our order came out completely wrong with several items missing. Funny that is was missing from the receipt too even though we confirmed it during our order. Guess they didn't like us complaining. To make matters worse, while we were trying to get the order straight so our children could eat, we noticed several car hops horsing around and a cook was actually smoking.
