There's something about walking into State Farm Stadium that feels bigger than the reason you came. Doesn't matter if it's football, a concert, or a full-blown spectacle with 70,000 people packed in like a living, breathing organism you feel it the second you step inside. The hum. The anticipation. The kind of energy that doesn't ask permission. This place is a machine. Opened in 2006, built like some kind of desert cathedral to noise and chaos, it holds over 63,000 people and stretches past 70,000 when things really get out of hand. And somehow... it works. You've got this retractable roof smooth, deliberate, almost theatrical and beneath it, a field that literally rolls outside like it's clocking out for the day. Not metaphorically. Actually rolls out on steel tracks, soaking up the Arizona sun before sliding back in for showtime. It's not just engineering. It's show business. But what sticks with you isn't the mechanics it's the feeling. I've been there when the roof's open, and that desert air sneaks in. Not the brutal, punishing heat Arizona's known for but that warm, forgiving breeze. The kind that reminds you you're alive without trying to kill you. It's perfect in those in-between months, when the weather finally loosens its grip and lets you breathe. And then there's the crowd. That many people in one place cheering, yelling, singing, half-losing their minds it shouldn't feel comfortable. It should feel dangerous. And maybe it is, just a little. But there's camaraderie in it. Strangers high-fiving like old friends. Everyone chasing the same moment, whether it's a touchdown or a guitar solo. The food? Better than it needs to be. The drinks? Cold enough to keep you grounded. Just barely. Because once you're in it in the noise, the lights, the movement you realize this isn't just a stadium. It's a controlled kind of chaos. A place built to hold human emotion at full volume without letting it spill over the edges. And somehow... it doesn't feel overwhelming. It feels right. You come for the event. You stay for the experience. And somewhere in the middle of it all, you realize you're part of the show now.

I live in Las Vegas but I traveled to Glendale to watch my guys in teal and gold (aka Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars) take on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on 11/23/25. Out of all 30 football stadiums in America, this is the second one I've visited so far, the first being Allegiant Stadium back up in Vegas. I decided to take my friend and former coworker with me to the game; she and her son moved to Glendale last summer and they have State Farm Stadium literally in their backyard. Since this is a review for State Farm Stadium, I'm not going to talk too much about the Jaguars, as I do not want to push the buttons of Cardinals fans. And yes, I did watch the Jaguars play in Vegas three weeks ago. I had a groupie phase that dissolved a long, long time ago, but I followed them to Glendale so I could watch them, specifically Trevor, play one more time this season. We arrived at the stadium about an hour before doors opened, so we spent that time walking around, figuring out our recommended gate entrance, and watching other football games that were on. I found some really good seats just above the visiting team sideline at a reasonable price. Maybe it's just me or I'm used to the seats at Allegiant Stadium being crazy expensive. We sat in section 125, row 31 in seats 21 and 22 with an awesome view of the field. Their retractable roof was closed during this game because of the rain they had over the weekend. State Farm Stadium is a tad smaller than Allegiant Stadium, but still a good size. One mind blowing thing that they did before the game began is that they bought back every former Arizona Cardinals cheerleader dating back to 1984. Just seeing them come out endlessly was wild and I thought that it wasn't going to stop. I stayed at a hotel right across the street from the stadium, which saved me money by not parking onsite or parking at my hotel because I didn't have a car. I can't remember how much it was to park at the stadium, but it was $30 to park at my hotel. We sat next to a Cardinals season ticket holder, who recommended to us a really good food stand that was behind our section, called Pork on a Fork. He said that they have an excellent nacho brisket dish, and he was correct! My friend and I shared this and although the cheese was something (a little on the spicy side), it was delicious. I also had two Sunday Margarita drinks and I wish I had more. I didn't have to worry about driving, but I did had a flight to catch back home the next day. Our seats were behind Hyundai Gate 2, making entering and exiting very easy and simple. We stayed the entire game, which was sent into overtime and it ended up being a very close one. After this game, I went back to my hotel and traveled home the next day happy with a Jaguars win.

I saw Morgan Wallen here last year for the Friday show and I just have to say that 1, the show was AMAZING... but 2, I cannot believe how much of a shit show it was to park here! I came in through one of the streets and through a little strip mall area, just to then be forced right over a bridge for me to make an illegal U-turn to be able to get back into the parking lot! It made absolutely ZERO sense and that alone was probably almost an hour... Inside, getting to our seats was fine... the inside walls and stadium seem basic AF, but was able to grab a little turkey wrap for a decent price. The show was incredible, no issues! Leaving the stadium was pretty quick since the freeway access is basically right there. Long story short, be prepared for a weird parking situation... honestly, might just be better to park elsewhere and walk here

State Farm Stadium Fact: This stadium is considered an architectural icon for the region and was named by Business Week as one of the ten "most impressive" sports facilities on the globe due to the combination of its retractable roof and roll-in natural grass field. Did you know that the oldest known stadium is the Stadium at Olympia in Greece, built around 776 BC? Now you know. I love this stadium. This stadium is nineteen years-old and hosts a multitude of events from concerts, the Cardinal games, three Super Bowls, Wrestlemania, and even hard seltzer festivals. They boast 14,000 on-site parking spaces, 88 executive suites, has the capacity for 63,400 (expandable to 72,200; standing room to 78,600) people. It's a marvel whenever I catch a concert or watch a Cardinals game here. I love it! I simply adore Glendale's State Farm Stadium.

My family attended the Fiesta Bowl this past Thursday 01/08/2025 . We really liked how exclusive the club section was regarding bathrooms and food lines . No matter if it was halftime or middle of a quarter getting drinks or going to the restroom had no lines. Large cans of Dos Equis was $17.50 and the club nachos with pork were $22 which fed all three of us . It's in a pizza box so you can easily it eat at your seats or the many tables available in the club dining areas . Bar area is quick and they make a nice stiff double crown and coke . We had a blast and the seats we had offered great views !

Extremely poorly managed. As a small framed woman, I found the seating to be extremely packed and I am not large... think airplane seating tightness. Packed in like sardines. Parking and off/on-ramps do not move. Avoid. Way too big of a venue to be so poorly operated. Came here last night for Kendrick Lamar / Sza.

AZ Cardinals giving LA Rams their home - thank you!!!

I have been to SFS enough times to remember the traffic, but not enough to remember... how bad the traffic is. I married to a St Louis Rams family who then became the LA Rams, and maaaan, the games are way more fun now. And the wins almost feel like they're guaranteed! We booked tickets that due to the current fires in California, the Cardinals allowed the Rams to take home tonight. We were assigned parking, but getting in was confusing since the city closed MANY streets down which of in return caused a lot of traffic. Once we were in though, it was pretty easy to get into parking and get checked in. The facility was clean, the restrooms were very well maintained, and the event staff was awesome!!

Came here for a Cardinals game against Titans. This was my first time in a suite here. It was nicer than the Mortgage place, (they keep changing the name) but anywho very nice and staff was very kind. 5 stars

Came for a preseason game. There were definitely more chiefs fans than cardinals. Parking was a bit chaotic and took quite a bit of time to get in (get there early!). Compared to diamondbacks stadium, there seem to be less food options and people tend to not eat much during the game compared to baseball. Staff were nice and helpful to answer questions. Hope the bird gang have a good upcoming year!

Had a fun time at the Bears vs Cardinals game here at the stadium. Great food venue's to choose from. The women's restrooms are really nice. I appreciated the fact that the exterior of the stalls are red in color, but the interior of the stall is yellow. Helped me to know which stall was open. Seats are what you would expect at a stadium. It was nice to see the dome open and watch the rain pour down onto the field. Shortly after the dome was closed. Either way, we won lol.

State Farm Stadium is home to the Arizona Cardinals and the annual Fiesta Bowl. I was a Cardinals season ticket holder for many years when the Cardinals played at Sun Devil Stadium. Those were dreadful hot half empty games in a stadium not meant for NFL. This stadium eventually opened in 2006 and I kept my tickets for the first couple seasons. I gave them up because the Cardinals kept jacking up the ticket prices. The sucky thing is that the Cardinals with Larry Fitzgerald and Kurt Warner had a great season in 2008 the year after I gave up my season tickets and went to the Super Bowl. State Farm Stadium is located in Glendale and has around 63,000 seats. They can increase capacity to over 70,000 with standing room only seats. It has a retractable roof and a natural grass field that rolls in and out. The outside of the stadium was designed to represent a barrel cactus. This stadium used to be called University of Phoenix Stadium (dumb name) before State Farm got the naming rights. Even though the parking lot holds a lot of cars, it sucks trying to getting in out of here on games days. Westgate Entertainment District is next door if you want to enjoy food and entertainment before and after a game. The arena next door used to be home to the Coyotes hockey team before they left. Now they mostly host concerts. Outside of the stadium is a statue of legendary Cardinals player Pat Tillman. Tailgating is fun here with much of the activity taking place on the great lawn. It is fun to walk around and see what people are cooking up and creativity of their tailgating tents. I have Fiesta Bowl season tickets and have been to almost every Fiesta Bowl that has taken place here. I have also seen two NCAA Basketball Final Four Finals and a Mexico-U.S. International Friendly soccer game. State Farm Stadium has hosted three Super Bowls. Going to a Super Bowl is still on my bucket list, but I can't get myself to shell out the almost $2,000 price tag. State Farm Stadium has hosted many of the larger concert acts like Taylor Swift, Rolling Stones and Beyoncé. I have seen U2 on a couple of occasions in this stadium. State Farm Stadium is nearing 20 years old. Time really does fly. Even though it is a long drive from the East Valley, I have had many good times over the years tailgating in the parking lot and going to events at this stadium.

It's a great venue. The employees are all nice, concessions around every turn. The sections for the seating, specially at the top are a little hard to understand. Also the parking lot can become, and most times is, a disaster. Trying to get out at the end of the even is a nightmare. There is no organization whatsoever, it's just a frenzy.

    Bridget H.

I've been to State Farm several times for various concerts. We went and saw Post Malone this weekend. We bought nose bleed seats, but honestly still had a good view. The staff at the stadium were nice. The bathrooms were clean. I would say the biggest problem and thing to plan for is the parking is a mess in terms of trying to leave the stadium. Very little organization when it comes to leaving and it took us an hour to leave the parking lot. I've had this issue at every concert I've gone to. It is mostly a free for all when leaving the parking lot. We sat there and watched multiple cars and trucks fight to get out of there spots. So my point is, just plan on sitting for awhile in the parking lot.

For sure.... you probably just have to walk a little bit to west towards Cabellas.

Going to Taylor Swift concert tonight - anyone know how strict the purse size guideline is?

From what I've seen at prior events, very. I wouldn't risk it.

My sister is going to Taylor Swift concert in May. If she adds small, battery powered string lights to her shirt, will she be able to get through security? I've called and they don't have an answer. Has anyone had experience with this?

That will not be a problem it's not a security thing there my daughter did it before they didn't give her a problem

What is temp inside stadium? Need warm jacket? Sweater?

It is chilly. It's just as cold inside the stadium as it is outside. I'd suggest bringing something to keep you warm.

Getting into the stadium was a breeze. There wasn't a line and you walk through metal detectors where you don't have to take anything out of your pockets. Always a plus. Once I got in, I was excited to check out another baseball stadium. Even though Chase Field was built a while back, the stadium is well maintained and looks newer than it is. We sat in the Banner Health area which is center field. Fantastic seats with great views of the game. The weather was perfect so they had the retractable roof open. When it's too hot (those Phoenix summers hit), they close the roof. Like most venues, you're going to be paying for overpriced food and drinks. That's no different here. I walked around the entire stadium to check out all of the food options. It's mostly your standard fare, and an assortment of mediocre chain restaurants. I wish the food options were a bit better (Minute Maid Stadium in Houston has better food options hands down). I ended up going with some honey chicken fries (loaded fries with hot honey chicken, bacon, and chives) from Four Point Brewing. While the fries had been pre-made and were lukewarm, they were quite good for stadium food. Good portion size too. Probably one of the star food options at Chase Field. Swing batter batter, swing!

I went to this complex to attend the AZ Reggae fest. For a music festival venue, this complex is actually not a bad spot! There is enough grass to help cool things off during the day, yet the ground/dirt is compact enough that women like myself can comfortably walk in wedges without sinking into the ground. This is also goof for sports, as you dont want players tripping over holes in the ground. I imagine that many many different athletic events can be held on these fields. With the musical festival I attended here, a soccer tourny was taking place on the other end of the complex. It is large. Parking is good, but with no one directing and no real clear delineation, I can see it getting chaotic quickly. I would come back to events here. They should fix the road (northside of complex) around to parking. I would not want to drive my nice car on that road!

It would be nice if they used the admission fee to add some recycling bins and garbage cans. Worst fields to play in the entire state. If it wasn't that our league makes us come here for games occasionally I would never set foot in this cesspool. Truly disgusted to be here. What an embarrassment to whatever league calls this home!!
