See dozens of players on the various fields throwing pitches, fielding balls, and taking batting practice. On game day, the guys wrapped up practice around 11:50, so I recommend getting there at least by 11. Don't miss doing this--it's just as entertaining, if not more entertaining than the game. Where else can you see players this up close? Then, walk on over to In-N-Out or Raising Cane's for lunch before the game. They're about a 15 minute walk away. I feel odd recommending fast food, but you gotta try what you can't get back in Seattle! There is food at the stadium, but it's not discount prices. Expect to pay just as much (or more) for a drink than you would at T-Mobile Park. After lunch, head to the park for the 1:10 game. The stadium is very intimate, and there really isn't a bad seat. It does get hot tho--the seats themselves are very toasty. Fortunately, we brought some towels from the hotel to sit on. The couple in front of us had to go buy some towels in order to sit comfortably. Also, pack a small portable fan. As someone who doesn't like hot weather, the fan made a huge difference and made sitting in the seats tolerable. Lastly, bring a water bottle and some sunscreen. There are cooling stations throughout the stadium, and some shaded spots. Parking is right in front of the stadium, free, and plentiful. You do not need to worry about not getting a spot--especiailly if you come early to watch practice.

One nice feature is the little Kid's Cove splash pad area for the kids to stay cool in. Parents were taking advantage of the misters by the playground there, too. Some really cool vendors - lots of food choices, pet supplies and treats, jewelry, 3-D printed offerings, and some booths offering services for alarms or window replacements. Bathrooms were open for guests and vendors alike. We made a purchase from the mobile bookmobile vendor right by the entrance. Weather permitting, we'll be back. The A/C in our car was on the fritz, but if the vendors can handle the heat, so could we. A fun weekend adventure.

It was quite a drive from Scottsdale and the area in Goodyear didn't seem that exciting haha. There was plenty of parking and it was on a grassy dirt area in front of the stadium. Surprisingly there were a lot of Reds fans too. The stadium did feel like a new, clean and cementy stadium. Plenty of vendors lined up for food, drinks and snacks around the park. The actual concessions were not the best at all though. It was cool seeing a little baseball field that little kids can enjoy and hangout. We sat super close to the field which made it a fun experience to enjoy. Overall the stadium didn't have any character and felt like a college stadium or something. I guess I'm bias with Giants having their own stadium.

Flavors of the West delivers some of the best local restaurants in the area each year, in an effort to educate our neighbors about all the great options we have out West- so maybe more will hang out here to eat, drink, and play instead of driving into Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, or Chandler to have their fun. There's plenty of amazing places to enjoy out here.. But, Flavors is unique. The detail around the festival is appreciated. The music is always good. The local chefs are usually the ones behind the booth, so you can get up and close to how they prepare their food, what they use, etc.. The lines can get long, so get there early so you have a chance to try as many places as you can. The restaurants all participate free of charge, but they have some steep costs to bring out their staff, equipment, and food to provide samples to Flavors patrons. For some, this might be their very first time participating in an event like this, so it's hard to judge year to year how consistent the options will be. But, it's nice to try new places and see what's new in the West Valley. The event gives back to charity. Matter of fact, 100% of the event proceeds benefit local charities in need. The organizers are all volunteers, and choose to host this event each year to bring the community together for a celebration of food, music, and friendship. The host, The Honey Foundation, is a home-grown charity that promotes Kindness across the World. They provide Kindness Education for K-12 students here in Arizona and across the United States and have already made a significant impact in decreasing disciplinary action in schools. We paid $100 for our family of four and chose not to purchase the fast pass which, in hindsight, I'm actually grateful for. We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and stayed until past close 10:45. (Due to our wait for the zip line) During our entire visit, we were only able to experience one slide (which allowed three people to go at a time), walk through a short maze, and wait two and a half hours for the zip line. The only reason we stayed that long was because my son was so excited to try it, otherwise we would have left much sooner. It's really unfortunate because we had high hopes for a fun, family-friendly evening. Sadly, it was not worth the cost or the time spent waiting in lines. We won't be returning, and we'll be skipping the Christmas festival as well
