I want to say how much I appreciate Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Vee Quiva for allowing semi…read moretruck parking. As a retired public servant now out on the road, I can tell you it gets tough out here. Safe, legal places to park are getting harder to find, and that adds a lot of stress to the job. I'm in Phoenix about once a week and spend around-- well a lot--- in the casino. Having a place like this makes a big difference. It gives drivers a safe place to shut down, get a good meal, relax a little, maybe have a drink, and just reset after a long haul. Trucking keeps this country moving, and it's a shame more casinos don't recognize that. Places like Wild Horse Pass use to but no longer allow truck parking anymore, and that's disappointing. There are ways to manage it, like controlled access for players card members. Bottom line, Vee Quiva gets it. They support the people who keep things moving, and that matters. I'll keep coming back because of it, and I hope more places start paying attention.

We paid extra for a suite. The room stunk. It smelled like old dirty socks. Did not even smell clean. Our shoes stuck to the floor as we walked across it. Apparently, this hotel must be hurting because they could not even afford to put trash bag liners in the trash cans, Yeah, of course the hotel was full. Not enough employees. (One person coffee shop on Sunday am doesn't work.) It was just nasty. We won't be back.

Staid at Gila River Resorts while in town for a conference being held at their resort. We had a…read moreroom on the top floor. The rooms were nice and clean and well maintained. The bathroom lights above the shower did not work, they would flicker then go off. The tissue box was empty at check in besides the tissue rose made on top. There were issues with the "mini bar" sensor at check in and someone had to come check on it later in the week. We didn't get service on some days of stay even with the "Service Please" Sign on the room door. The pool is open until 10pm, however the pool bar closes at 6pm and they had people exit their cabana rentals at 7pm. The drinks at the bar were severely over priced and mediocre at best. We paid $43 for 2 margaritas at the pool bar that tasted like blended water with a splash of margarita mix. The umbrellas at the pool had to be closed most of the time due to the winds, which also blew all types of debris and trash into the pools causing a bad look. One of our party was double charged at the pool bar, and they expressed that they could not reverse the charge and if they did it would take 7-10 days to return to the card, but refused to give us the extra drink because they couldn't serve more than 2 drinks within 30 minutes to the same person...even though there was 6 of us in the party and she was charged for 3 drinks, twice. Which could have been one per person in our party. The mobile bars within our evening reception drinks were higher priced in there than on the casino floor, so we all left our reception, to get drinks and come back. Drinks were on average $4-8 more than at the bar at the casino. One of the girls in our group personal cards was charged not only for the deposit amount for the stay but then the remainder of the balance for the first night and then again for the rest of her stay, causing her bank account to be nearly cleared out. In which the front desk staff told her there was nothing they could do, and that it would go back to her card Friday at the earliest (this was Tuesday). As we were there on business the rooms were prepaid with CC authorizations on file for the cost of the room rate + resort fees, so she was left with no money to pay for food or anything else for the rest of the week, and they could not provide any help and did not have any managers on property. We were able to track down a manager in a different department who was at least able to get her a food comp to pay for her meal thankfully. We were really excited to stay at Gila River, we had heard many great things about this property and were were unimpressed with the level of guest service.

Another place pushing drivers out with no thought to where trucks are supposed to go. Truckers brought business--food, gaming, everything. Now that's gone too. Bad decision all around.

Took awhile to get thru once we passed the security check-in and were filtering down a few levels to get to the floor. Of course there were a ton of people and we were packed like sardines but the flow was smooth and people were patient. Once we got to our seats, we got situated and Leon Thomas was already midway as the opening act. There was a slight mixup as one chair, the "30th" seat was missing on our row and we ended up moving down one seat to our left as the group with the seating issue kept trying to figure it out. Some numbers were missing on our seats but mine was visible and we could verify where we were seated. Luckily, our seat neighbors were nice people and accommodating since there seemed to be an extra seat that was empty. When we first arrived, there were some people who sat near our seats that weren't supposed to be there but you know there's always one of those so they moved. It was fun and festive. The woman in front of us with her daughter was recording the whole time as well as the lone guy next to my cousin who was doing the same and singing to EVERY SONG, LOL!! Thankfully we never had to use the bathroom as we went during dinner right before the concert. There were Porta-Pottys on the floor level inside as your bathroom. Also, you couldn't take an actual canned drink inside. Attendants had you put them in a cup unless they weren't paying attention and you had your drink in your see-thru backpack like the guy in front of me walking in. Speaking of, you need to look at bag dimensions and restrictions prior to going to the events. I looked ahead of time and brought a clear, plastic purse within the allowed guidelines/dimensions. Acoustics were great, there was never a glitch, 2 large screens on the left and right of the stage were great for folks seated far away and were a great visual for close ups even for us. Security was effective and checkpoints at the entrances went smoothly. It was a bit crazy getting out of the stadium but we got out. Getting out of the parking lot was another story. It was a long, log-jam and some vehicles were impatient and nearly hitting other vehicles just to get in the line to get out! I think the parking guides and traffic monitors could've done better in an orderly and streamlined fashion. In any case, we had fun and luckily people inside were nice and courteous. This was my 2nd concert at this stadium and am well-pleased with the ambiance. It was just the parking lot situation that needs to be more efficient. Hopefully they worked it out the next evening since Bruno played 2 nights here.

My seat was also good even though it was far back with all of the projections you could see everything. I got a last minute ticket to see Florence & the Machine. My friend and I wanted to grab a bite and a drink prior to the show so we showed up super early but despite a million restaurants around almost every spot had a super long wait. When we finally got in to the arena they had very limited food selections -- quite disappointing actually -- and WAAAAAY over priced!! For a titos and soda (double so I didn't have to keep going back) it was almost $40!!! I spent more $$ on food and drink then I did on the tickets -- that really seems wrong. We ended up with seats on a special club level which was super nice because the seats were very comfy and the bathrooms were so nice and clean and close by -- so that was a major plus. The place was a madhouse (the whole Westgate area) we ended up leaving before encore because we took a Lyft and wanted to make sure we didn't have to wait a million years to get one out of there. Plus that part was really confusing where to drop and pick one up for Lyft/Uber -- but we finally made it out. Next time I will drive as parking seems a plenty (for a price but still less than I paid for a lyft there and back)

There's quite a few tenants in the Westgate center that have disappeared. The arena itself is getting quite antiquated. It's a typical oval/hexagonal shape so there's a lot of walking if you don't enter near your seating section. The worst part is there's not many options to get to the 2nd level (which is really about the 4th level). I took the stairs (no escalator or elevator in sight) just after injuring my knee and it was a painful climb of about 75 stairs. The upper seating section is also quite small and cramped. For seats near the ceiling the sound and was still good...but it's probably hard to watch other types of events in here.

The Fiesta Bowl has been in existence since 1971 and was hosted by Sun Devil Stadium until they moved to State Farm Stadium in 2007. There have been a handful of college national champions decided at this bowl. In 1998, the Fiesta Bowl hosted the first BCS National Championship Game. Out of all the teams in college football, Ohio State has made more appearances than any other team. I attended my first Fiesta Bowl in 1997 when I received free tickets to the game. Since 2000, I have been a Fiesta Bowl season ticket holder and have attended almost every game since then with my good friend from college. I also at times volunteer to be a balloon handler in the Fiesta Bowl parade. I love the Fiesta Bowl organization and all the charity work that they do in this community. They are currently sponsored by Playstation. They used to be sponsored by Tostitos and we would get a free chips and salsa when we attended the game. One of my favorite things to do is to tailgate in the parking lot and party with fans that travel here from other schools. There have been so many memorable games over the years. One of the most memorable games I attended was the 2003 BCS title game in which Ohio St beat Miami in double overtime. It is also nice to look back and see how many future NFL stars I have seen play in the Fiesta Bowl over the years like Andrew Luck, Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Trevor Lawrence & Joe Borrow. I'm a huge college football fan and have enjoyed this holiday tradition of going to the Fiesta Bowl for the past 20 years. I look forward to many more games in the future.

Coming in, Penn…read moreState was the favorite and playing with Marcus Allen, Jason Cabinda, DaeSean Hamilton, Mike Gesicki and possibly Saquon Barkley for the last time. To give them an amazing farewell, our fans traveled well! The Nittany Lions started off strong, with a beautiful Trace McSorley pass to DaeSean Hamilton for a 48 yard touchdown! Later, Penn State's success continued as they drove straight down the field for a Saquon Barkley touchdown to make it a 14-0 Penn State lead. When the game looked like it was all Penn State, Washington responded with a trick play that took them down to the 10 yard line. Eventually, Jake Browning snuck in for a touchdown, to get Washington on the board. However, when momentum looked like it was shifting Washington's way, Penn State responded with a Mike Gesicki third-down conversion and a DeAndre Thompkins catch on the 1 yard line, which lead to a Miles Sanders touchdown. Eventually, Penn State got the ball back on their own 8 yard line and it was time for Saquon Barkley to make his mark. He found a hole and was off and running 92 yards to the house to make it a 28-7 Penn State lead! Penn State was able to get the ball again and have a chance to put the game way, but a costly fumble lead to a Myles Gaskin score. Eventually, half-time came and went and Washington got the ball. They then went on to drive down the field for a touchdown to make it a one-score game. However, Trace McSorley lead Penn State right down the field for a DaeSean Hamilton back shoulder touchdown catch to put Penn State up 35-21! Penn State had another chance to put the game away with the ball in the red-zone, but McSorley had another unlucky interception, which lead to a long Myles Gaskin score. Washington was within one touchdown again. Penn State once again drove down the field up by one touchdown and had a chance to put the game away with a Tyler Davis field goal, but from 45 yards away, he pulled it. Luckily, Washington had no time outs and only 30 seconds to score. With 15 seconds left, Jake Browning converted a fourth-down, but a hook and later lead to a fumble recovered by Brandon Smith!!! The best part was when #9 (and moving up) Penn State got the W. 35-28 #WeAre
