$5 gratuity that I did NOT select
    Yau-Ru C.

Be very careful as this is drive thru only so if you have any order or payment issues (I did), there is no one to help you until you park elsewhere and risk getting hit by cars walking back to the drive thru pick up counter. So the issue this morning was my bill. I ordered a plain croissant with tall London Fog which totaled to $9.20. At the pick up counter, the staff handed my two items and I had my credit card ready to beep on the credit card terminal for payment. The whole entire time, my fingers did NOT touch the terminal panel (and staff did not ask me to select anything on the panel). As I was beeping my card, I heard she said "Your total is $9.20" and as I am driving away I quickly noticed that the terminal said $14.20 after I beeped it. Curious, I pulled to a nearby parking lot and looked at my pending credit card transactions and sure enough, I was charged $14.20... $5 more than my bill. So I had to walk back to the pick up counter to explain the issue, which the staff looked at me like there's something wrong with me and told me to wait in my car. They brought out two receipts (the $14.20 one and the $5 refund). I looked at the incorrect total of $14.20 receipt, which appeared to have $5 gratuity added without my consent. Like I mentioned, I used a chipped touchiness credit card to beep on the terminal as she handed my order. Never once did my fingers touch the terminal panel nor did she tell me to make a tip selection (no tip or custom tip)...so how did this $5 gratuity show up is beyond my guess. I would not return to this specific Starbucks again. I have never had this type of transactional "error" happen at other locations.

Another great local SB location. The service is great as always and the iced coffee was just as I ordered. I wasn't sure how it was going to work trying to come in off Old Irvine to get into the drive through, but luckily there weren't any others in line at the time...I hope that it doesn't get too crazy in line, but so far, so good. The drive through set-up is creative and looks like it will be effective by having 2 lanes entering on the right and then merging at the pickup window. It seems to work really well!

They were so great! Patient with my indecisiveness. This location is so cute! It used to be our old Milk Barn and now it's even cuter as a Starbucks.

I go to this location at least once a week and order the same thing: iced brown sugar shaken espresso. The iced espresso tastes fine and today (09/02/24) was no different except my venti (large) was almost all ice and minimal espresso. It was like I ordered a tall (small) in terms of espresso and oatmilk with the rest of the cup of ice. Service is always quick.

This is the AFTERMATH of great cups at starbucks. You would think that for $4 a cup...it would be better.

Seriously, you would think that for how much they charge for a cup of coffee - REGULAR coffee that they could afford to have quality HOT COFFEE cups. I have attached just 2 pics showing the 'quality' of their product. I don't plan to return to this Starbucks. I just can't afford to have my truck screwed up by their coffee. REPEATEDLY. These pictures are from TWO different days. They continue to use BAD coffee cups that spill. I had one 'explode' in my hand because the cap didn't seal correctly so when I reach for it, the top of the cup just collapsed. Just ridiculous. You'd think that they specialized in the drive thru and would be better at this. I guess they are dicken with me. Because it seem like other folks have good things to say. Or they just don't get 'regular' coffee.

This is a place where new drinks are always updated, the staff are friendly and always listen to customers' opinions and do exactly what is ordered. Feel comfortable coming here every weekend morning to enjoy one of their most delicious drinks

There seems to always be a line here so be aware! We got there after lunch around 1pm and the line was about 10-15minutes reaching two doors down. They explicitly have a caution line on the sidewalk telling people NOT to block next door businesses doorways! The menu is straightforward and seems to update since we came before. The HOT item that always sells out daily is the sea salt bread. They will sell out within a few hours of opening so its only a morning item! Also note this place is cashless so card only! Our favorite items here are the: Banana Matcha: This is there matcha latte with oat milk and banana cream on top with fresh sliced bananas and toffee bits. Yes definitely get it less sweet for the perfect ratio! Its like a banana toffee flavor with that rich matcha on the bottom so good in this summer heat! Black Sesame match: this is my usual go to since its a more light drink with there signature matcha latte topped with black sesame cream. Its very light for someone just looking for a easy to drink light matcha but don't want a plain drink. Matcha Two: Matcha latte with salted matcha cream and vanilla syrup. This i would say is there signature matcha drink if you are a first timer and want to try there matcha without all the other flavors. Its got a good balanced matcha blended with the hint on vanilla sweetness. The servers are super friendly and helpful here since they make every cup of matcha by hand so there's a long table of workers hand mixing matcha but the line moves fairly quickly. You order directly at the bar so you can ask questions or customize if you wish. I usually get less sweet, less ice or even no ice. They personally hand you every order by name which is a great touch. Overall, a great local matcha shop they we will definitely be back again to try other items especially that salted bread that always sells out!

I could hold off no longer and had to visit this charming boutique with cascading blush and ivory. A breathtaking floral wall welcomes you inside and invites you to take a seat. As you enter, greetings from staff echo from the counter. Do you check out the shop or grab a drink and browse? Whatever you do, do not skip the banana cold foam on your drink if you love banana! The hospitality here is evident the moment you walk in. Staff were ready to take our order, answer questions and even checked to see if our drinks were to our liking. Think fashionable design meets European charm for the interior atmosphere, right down to the plates. Morning Lavender offers table seating as well as booths and can accommodate large parties for events. Now for the good stuff- let's talk an Iced Mocha with extra chocolate and an Iced Chai Tea Latte with Banana Cream Foam. The Mocha with extra chocolate was indulgent and velvety with the espresso seamlessly intertwined. A decadent treat to enjoy as the morning started to warm up into the afternoon. Just a suggestion for those who enjoy the richer side of coffee and espresso. A dash of a bit more cream would've added that refined richness. The star of the morning was definitely the Iced Chia Tea Latte with Banana Cream Foam. The description of cold cream hardly captures and embodies what this Banana Cold Foam really is. Think lusciously thick banana smoothie topping off your drink. Impossibly creamy and bursting with ripe banana. Crowning the drink sat a slice of banana bathed on one side in a caramelized sauce similar to crème brûlée. Crunchy peanuts generously scattered on top, making an irresistible contrast in texture. This drink was truly an exceptional culinary experience. I will be back again and again for the Banana Cold Foam.

Overall, we had an enjoyable afternoon, as the overall aesthetic is delightful and having the boutique connected adds such a fun element to the visit. We really enjoyed browsing the selection of clothes, candles, jewelry, and painting books. As for the tea and food, the warm scones and tea were lovely highlights, the smoked salmon sandwich was exceptionally yummy, and the rose macaron stood out with its fragrant flavor. However, there were a few areas where the experience fell short of expectations. While the smoked salmon was great, the chicken sandwich was difficult to chew due to too many nerves and the mini donuts felt a bit stale. We also noticed a few maintenance issues, including a visibly dirty/stained booth seat and a teacup given to one of our guests that was broken on the bottom. Service was another area that could use some improvement. For a party of six, the staff felt somewhat inattentive, leaving several people at our table waiting for long periods to get hot water refills. This unfortunately hindered the amount of tea we were able to enjoy during our visit. Morning Lavender has wonderful potential with its beautiful environment and delicious flavors, but with a bit more proactive service and attention to detail, the experience could be truly exceptional.

The quiche was okay but pricey for a snack. The iced caffe Borgia comes served in a glass if you dine in. I didn't really like the coffee though. When I got home I realized that my La Paz was basically just a plain latte. The barista had forgotten to add the caramelized sugar. Kind of hard to fathom since that's the entire basis of the La Paz. Then I bit into the burrito. What a disappointment! It was the blandest thing I've ever tasted. Not a single bit of flavor. I don't even think there was salt or pepper in there. The roasted red potatoes that made Lost Bean burritos stand out had been replaced with soggy, flavorless shredded potatoes. I can't even call them hash browns because there was no crispy brown to be found, just squishy white shreds. Pretty sure I won't be craving the breakfast burrito or La Paz again. :(
