Here's what I cannot tolerate from the service sector. When you ask/request/ or order a standardize preferences e.g. very light milk. When you receive your product/order and it's not applied. You bring it to the company/service agent or barista attention. When their behavior or reaction somehow makes you feel like it's your fault for their lack of quality assurance. Then due to guilty, you just accept a drink the second time "as is" so you won't be a problem to their workflow -- that's a problem. 2.5 stars Service: 1 stars Kiosk Drink order (personal cup): 1.5 stars App order drink: 3 stars We have passed by this Starbucks location often but had never stopped by until a few weeks ago. This is a drive-thru only location. I placed 1 drink order through the app, and another through the drive-thru speaker. There are 2 drive-thru speakers but the lanes merge so it's quite interesting. I do not know if it's a lack of employees or the other car was just taking a long time to order, but it took a bit of time before I was greeted at the kiosk and was able to order my drink (in a personal cup). Once I arrived at the window, the barista did not even read back my drink order to me. He was confused as to which drinks were mine, which he never asked to begin with. No greeting, just confusion. I provided my name first for my app order drink, and then I asked him about my other drink that I had ordered through the speaker, with the personal cup. He was dumbfounded. The other barista next to him knew that I had a personal cup. Again, not only did he not repeat my drink order back to me (ordered at the speaker), but less ice was basically full ice in my personal cup. The reason why I mention this twice (repeating drink orders) is because my family member has a caffeine sensitivity and we always double check that their drink was made with decaf and NOT regular espresso shots. Mobile Order (with coupon) Flat White Drive-Thru Kiosk Order Iced Triple Espresso, decaf, less ice, with a splash of half & half (Personal cup) Also, our Iced Triple Espresso, decaf, less ice, with a splash of half & half was basically full of ice when we received it. Since it is a drive-thru, I could not just bring it up to the baristas as there were other cars behind me. I had to pull into the parking lot next door and try to scoop out the extra ice from the "less ice" drink. I always go to this location for convenience. I have three kids (5 and under) and if anyone who has three kids or more knows, going anywhere with three kids is always chaotic. I constantly have to keep my eyes on all three at the same time. It ends up being more work than a fun outing outside, so I try to minimize going out and prefer drive-thrus whenever I'm by myself. Lately, my go-to drink is the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and it is consistently good at this location. My kids were behaved and quiet most of the time, so I grabbed them a chocolate chip cookie and frog cake pop. When my drink arrived, it had a message on it. It said, "You Rock". It was unexpected, but made my day. Small acts of kindness can really go a long way. read more

Be very careful as this is drive thru only so if you have any order or payment issues (I did), there is no one to help you until you park elsewhere and risk getting hit by cars walking back to the drive thru pick up counter. So the issue this morning was my bill. I ordered a plain croissant with tall London Fog which totaled to $9.20. At the pick up counter, the staff handed my two items and I had my credit card ready to beep on the credit card terminal for payment. The whole entire time, my fingers did NOT touch the terminal panel (and staff did not ask me to select anything on the panel). As I was beeping my card, I heard she said "Your total is $9.20" and as I am driving away I quickly noticed that the terminal said $14.20 after I beeped it. Curious, I pulled to a nearby parking lot and looked at my pending credit card transactions and sure enough, I was charged $14.20... $5 more than my bill. So I had to walk back to the pick up counter to explain the issue, which the staff looked at me like there's something wrong with me and told me to wait in my car. They brought out two receipts (the $14.20 one and the $5 refund). I looked at the incorrect total of $14.20 receipt, which appeared to have $5 gratuity added without my consent. Like I mentioned, I used a chipped touchiness credit card to beep on the terminal as she handed my order. Never once did my fingers touch the terminal panel nor did she tell me to make a tip selection (no tip or custom tip)...so how did this $5 gratuity show up is beyond my guess. I would not return to this specific Starbucks again. I have never had this type of transactional "error" happen at other locations. read more

Another great local SB location. The service is great as always and the iced coffee was just as I ordered. I wasn't sure how it was going to work trying to come in off Old Irvine to get into the drive through, but luckily there weren't any others in line at the time...I hope that it doesn't get too crazy in line, but so far, so good. The drive through set-up is creative and looks like it will be effective by having 2 lanes entering on the right and then merging at the pickup window. It seems to work really well! read more

The good news is that it a drive thru (3 stars). The bad news is they don't quite get the coffee instructions right. ALL FOAM - NO MILK, means no milk, just foam from the milk on top of the espresso. Best go to the walk-in store at Larwin Square. Where the Baristas are better trained on making coffee with special instructions. read more

I've been to this Starbucks 4 times in the last few months. No joke - they get my order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't order crazy combos either. This last time I ordered one of the winter specials hot. When I got to the window she gave me an iced drink. I said "this isn't my order." She gaslit the he'll out of me "yes it is. This is your order." I took a sip - nope! I had to circle back around and talk to the guy on the ordering mic area to get it right. Stopped by Starbucks on my way to work and grabbed an iced caramel macchiato. It was made just right smooth, not too sweet, and gave me the boost I needed.The line was a little long, but the staff was friendly and kept things moving. I go to this location at least once a week and order the same thing: iced brown sugar shaken espresso. The iced espresso tastes fine and today (09/02/24) was no different except my venti (large) was almost all ice and minimal espresso. It was like I ordered a tall (small) in terms of espresso and oatmilk with the rest of the cup of ice. Service is always quick. read more

the worst experience i've ever had at a starbucks. to the girl taking orders on the drive thru mic on 2/15/25 at 7:35am, you have the nastiest most unwarranted attitude i've ever encountered. instead of prefacing with "hello" or "good morning", she immediately said "what's the name for the order". she continued to rush our order by repeatedly saying "anything else" in the most impatient manner after each item. not only was she rushing our order, but she was incorrectly entering items. for example, we asked for 2 cheese danishes and she only entered 1 & we asked for a tall beverage and she was going to charge us for a venti. she clearly got upset when i corrected her b/c out of the 4 drinks we ordered, my drink was the only one with a message and it sloppily said "morning". it's not our fault you have poor listening comprehension skills. if you really despise interacting with the public, why would you willingly choose to work at a busy establishment like starbucks? there are plenty of jobs where you can work in solitude, but i digress. also, why is she using numbers to spell people's names... read more

The worker seems nice and offered me a free drink the next time when I order. I stopped by this morning and yep!! They make it right.
