This has got to be the worst Starbucks location I've ever been to. There is always a 10+ minute wait, but this specific time, I placed a mobile order & it said it would be ready in 1-4 minutes. I couldn't believe it! I placed it as I was leaving the door & drove to the location. Once I arrived, there was no line, but about 4-5 people waiting for their orders. I waited another 5 minutes for my order & noticed my Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew had absolutely no foam. I asked them if they could add more, the barista said "It's at the bottom" I'm like OK... lol. She re-did it, only for it to be the absolute same drink. I couldn't believe she'd put a drink out like that again. Why would I even waste my time for it to be the absolute same? I would've appreciated it more if she offered to make me a completely different drink if they didn't have the foam for it. I am never returning! So disappointed. read more

I never usually write bad reviews but this Starbucks workers made me feel uncomfortable and they were being rude and I can hear them joking and complaining about my order right in front of me. They were also being rude to other customers and giving off a bad tone to people. I mobile ordered my drink at 7:33 pm and I waited till around 8:00 and other customers were also complaining of waiting more than 20 minutes. Although my drink wasn't bad, my sisters drink and my aunties drink was HORRIBLE! The coffee tastes like water and milk and the ice teas was like drinking watered down Gatorade. There's also no point in mobile ordering because I ordered ahead and was the last to get my order. My family and I visited the 1209 Marina Blvd location of Starbucks last night and it was a HUGE disappointment. There was a line of about 8-9 people when we arrived, two baristas working the bar and a cashier whom seemed to be relatively new although no one was assisting her with taking orders. I'm assuming that she was new because she kept asking people to repeat their orders, repeating incorrect orders back to them while making corrections on the cups. Once we had stood in line for 5 + minutes and the line hadn't moved from where it was when we arrived, I knew that it wasn't going to be a good experience. The baristas were doing a LOT of socializing, having full on conversations with one another and often forgetting what drink they were working on and whose drink was rightfully next. I know this because once one of my drinks was FINALLY made (I had to wait an additional 5 minutes to receive the other one, and got MAJOR attitude from who appeared to be the shift lead when I inquired about it) she made the drink for the woman who was in line behind us as opposed to completing our order. She appeared to have known her because they proceeded to have a lengthy conversation while we were waiting as well. After being in line for about 15 minutes and finally being able to place our order, the cashier didn't honor the Happy Hour, BOGO deal. When I inquired about it, she asked me as if the promotion was news to her. As in, 'Oh, you wanted to use the Happy Hour deal?" So when I explained to her that was the purpose of the visit and she re-rang me up, twice because she had did it incorrectly a few times and she still didn't understand the BOGO deal. During this time, the person who appeared to be the shift lead came out and began working on mobile orders by placing stickers on cups as opposed to assisting the cashier and/or in getting the line that was now out the door down, chimed in and said 'you have to scan the app for the deal'. Obviously, I know that but I have to be charged correctly before paying. Once the order was placed and we were waiting an additional 5 + minutes for our drinks and food, a gentlemen came out of the back whom appeared to be the manager because he was wearing a white shirt and began prepping for the next day. Instead of assisting the cashier with the line and/or supporting the baristas in making drinks. There was a shift change (Note: We were there long enough to witness all of this) and the new barista came in and picked up conservation just as the previous person whom had left for the day had. This location has always had terrible service (Just check Yelp), and it's evident that customer service-good or not so good isn't at all a priority. Additionally, it seems that making drinks and fulfilling orders is equally unimportant. In short, this Starbucks is a disappointment but last night's visit was an absolute train wreck. What should have been a 10-15 minute visit at best turned into a 45 minute fiasco. To which we received awful service, mediocre tasting drinks and lukewarm food. read more

I've only been here a couple times, but I really want to commend this Starbucks for what I observed today. So after a morning run at the Marina I decided I wanted some coffee, but knew that I would hit a long line at any Starbucks I went to. This Starbucks was the closes one to the Marina so I drove here. The line was sooooo long when I got in, but they had two cashiers taking orders, so it made the line move a little quicker. For some reason even though there were so many people in line and ordering drinks, my drink came out so quick. Not once did I think to myself this drink is taking forever, what gives. I frequent this location in the morning as Starbucks have closed down my other regular spots. I'm giving them 3 stars for their service as a whole and NOT the one time I came in, as most Yelp reviews seem to be now-a-days...and yes me included. There have been three times that I was late for work because my order didn't make it to the barista. The cashiers must have been new or something, but it was a couple of times that I've asked for my drink. I don't order double whipped frapawahapcino with extra sprinkles, but coffee and soy milk. At most places, I receive my drink pretty quickly. However, at this location, it seems that I'm ordering from the secret menu. I've encountered 2 baristas that knew how to make it. I also order my breakfast and lunch here when I know I wouldn't be able to get to a grocery store that day. I waited 15 minutes thinking that they were running behind. However, it turns out, the cashier, once again, forgot to tell someone I ordered something. There are 2-3 people I recognize that make the mornings run really efficiently. I turn right around when I see this one worker person who scowls at everyone in the mornings. I'm sure she's a lovely hardworking person, but honey, at 6:45 in the morning, I want my coffee and gone. I don't want a lecture explaining why I need to forgive the cashier (who btw isn't new anymore...). Love this place so much, it's even got it's own nickname in our circle of friends: SB This is the main SB that I go to, as well as my boyfriends and his friends. It's close by, inside Marina Square = free parking = cheap shopping = $$. The staff are friendly, courteous and quick. They recognize faces and remember names and drinks, as well as have a great sense of humor. The interior is always clean and there are comfortable couches next to outlets for your conveniences. Tables for those who have work to do and free wifi :) There is outdoor seating for a nice day to enjoy the sunshine, or people watching as is what I do just for fun. They're good with giving refills and aren't stingy. So remember to tip for excellent service! read more

Horrible service and uncaring rude staff! I came here on Sunday afternoon around 5PM on 11/4 to pick up gift cards as thank you to the hospital staff caring for my dad who is ill and might not make it through the holidays. While waiting in line, I picked up individual cards on the stand. When I got to the register the guy with graying hair immediately gave me an annoyed look and said, "You know you can order these online and have them shipped to you..." I replied, "Thanks but I need these today." The girl at the next register then suggest there are prepackaged multiple cards that could be loaded for the same amount faster. I took the hint and said I would do that and handed him a few packs. The guy makes it clear he does not want to help me. He makes dramatize punches to the register then announces the final price which sounds wrong so I ask him why. Turns out I handed him too many cards so I asked him to cancel a packet to which he groans loudly, "I'm sure no one behind you minds waiting." WTF?! I apologize for the mistake then realize I shouldn't be apologizing to this asshole and have had enough of his BS. Not as friendly as I am used to with the Starbucks in Hawaii...but they are just as fast with getting my drink order. I asked one of the cashiers to reload my card and she seems put off because she kind of gave an attitude when giving me my change. I was going to get a sandwich but decided not too and only ordered a tall iced Americano in a grande cup. The barista ended up not even putting water in my drink so it looked like it was a shot of espresso in a talk cup. When I asked her for a grande cup, she seemed put off with my request. I recently started coming to this location over other local locations a couple months ago since I work right down the street and I love it! The staff is extremely nice and welcoming especially Kaitlyn. I come here before 7 am and sometimes I can't even think straight about what I want to order- and since I go here so often she knows my order already- What more can I ask for when I'm half asleep in the morning?! Now that I'm no longer working early mornings, I still stop by here on my way to school in the mornings because I like this location so much! I have never experienced waiting in line a long time because I go fairly early, but I know there can be a huge line sometimes (i've seen it while i drive past it) but the staff works as fast as they can to make sure you get your drink in a timely manner. read more

Let me start off by letting you know this review is to help and not to harm. I'm the kind of person hardly ever writes reviews. I'm the kind that normally just lets it go and hopes for a better next time. But today's experience at Starbucks store # 5545 on Marina Blvd. San Leandro managed by Matt Houser was one that really ticked me off and felt violated, harrased, and bullied by this stores employees. It started off with me going to the store and asking the the employee which didn't have a name tag to reload $15.00 on my card. The employee asked me why I just don't pay cash. I told him I wanted to earn points since it's double points right now. Gave him the $15.00 and my phone and he went inside the store to reload. That brought my balance to about $19.00. He than took my order which was a venti Quad shot White Mocha extra hot, venti Caramel Frap, and a venti Green tea with 8 shots of Macha. He charged me $25.00 and change. I gave him my phone with the app. open so he can scan $19.00 I had on there and gave him $20.00 to complete payment. He went back inside and came out and handed me my phone back and no change and he went back inside. I waited for him to come back outside and he noticed I was looking for his attention and came back out and asked me if I needed anything else. I said yes, I'm just waiting for my change from the $20.00 bill I gave him. He said he used the $20.00 bill to pay for my order and used my phone to complete the order. I than told him the purpose of me giving him the $15.00 to reload my phone was to take advantage of double points and I gave him the $20.00 bill to complete payment after he billed me through my app. He than said sorry and next time I go to just give his name and they'll give me a free drink but didn't give me his name, lol. That was that, I waited and my drinks came out and I drove back and when I handed the drinks to my co workers they said the green tea was not a green tea and it tasted horrible. My co worked threw the whole drink away. I called Starbucks and told him I had an issue even though my co worker said to leave it alone but I just felt they VIOLATED me as a true customer. I explained to the lady that answered the phone the issue with the green tea with 8 shots of Macha. She said that it was my fault the order was wrong because any time a customer says 8 shots they assume is shots of expresso. I told her ok that's understandable but I specifically told the guy 8 shots of MACHA on the green tea. She said to just go ahead and bring the drink back and they'll make me a new one in a rude way. When I got to the store another lady came out to help me and I told her I was here for the drink exchange. I also asked her for the Store # and the manager and name. She couldn't find the store # and asked another employee inside and told me the managers name was Matt Houser and said she would write it in a piece of paper and give it to me once my drink was ready. She went back inside and shortly came back out with the drink and a sticky note. The note had the name written Matt H. and store # 5545. I asked her if she could spell the last name for me and she asked some one inside and they said they couldn't give out last names but she had already given it to me, she just didn't spell it on the sticky note. I also noticed they didn't put the label on the drink as they should have and they also didn't explain to me if the Macha shots are the same price as the expresso shots so I feel they probably ripped me off and overcharged me. To put an end of this and finish with on a good note, when I got the new drink to my co worker he tasted it and said it was done RIGHT. Hope this helps some one so they don't go through what I went through today. read more

Due to the high foot traffic in this area, this particular Starbucks can get very busy. Opting to utilize the Starbucks app to order to help save time, does not really save customers time at this particular store. During my past three visits, my order was completed much later than walk-in customers. Drinks (iced drinks) are partially filled with an excess amount of ice. Lastly, I have gotten sick with diarrhea during my past three visits. If you observe how the team members are making beverages you might notice why. Milk products are left out on the counter and not placed back into the refrigerator immediately. Frequent touching of hair, nose, and clothes. read more

I love going to Starbucks specially ordering on the app and arriving and getting right away. This was my first time ordering here since i always order at Oakland location out of Hegenberger road. When i got there there was a girl and one of the employee which was making my order, where actually criticizing my order. I love my frappe with extra caramel . So are you here yo work or criticize ?? I work at a customer service place and you don't give that type of service at all!!! This really made me mad and upset! Frappes are usually icy but mine was watery!! I usually give only 2 stars to chain restaurants and coffee shops, but this Starbucks consistently delivers great service and enthusiasm for their coffees. The servers are a cordial, helpful, and generally lively bunch. I've went in many times for a mocha or a coffee and find myself wanting stay and read the paper there. It's just a comfortable and inviting vibe. They just did a makeover to the counters, so everything is cleaner than ever. Pretty cool place: staff's friendly, drinks made quickly and well, rarely a wait time, good location (right in the shopping plaza), and outdoor seating available! If you're a sunny like me, outdoor seating is a must, especially living in sunshine state, California. All for that skin cancer UV rays, give it to me!
