Coffee is pretty good but the prices are high. The drive thru line is insane. Overall it's pretty good store.

With the beginning of the Statehouse Market in downtown Indy for 2023, I'm once again discovering…read moresome of the hidden gems and newbies in the realm of food trucks and farmer's market vendors. One such truck is Milkhouse Brew, a Mooresville, Indiana based mobile coffee truck serving locally roasted coffee, specialty beverages, and locally baked confections. Milkhouse Brew is a partnership between cousins Haliena "Hali" Mynatt and Suni Johnsons. Hali also owns Morgan County event venues 5 East and The Barn at Milkhouse Lane. Suni is a longtime photographer in the area. Both women are locals who graduated from Mooresville High School. Milkhouse Brew has a fairly basic menu, or at least did today, including cappuccino, latte, macchiato, americano, chai latte, and hot chocolate with some variations and flavors available. Prices were pretty darn reasonable and all the drinks could be served either hot or cold. They also all came in either 16-ounce and 20-ounce sizes. Prices primarily were in the $3-6 range and for that you get a tasty drink, awesome service, and the thrill of supporting local. I ordered a 20-ounce iced americano. It was served fairly quickly and they seemed to do a steady business today. A food truck offering coffee has been a serious lacking at Statehouse Market and I'm hoping they will return. Coffee is from Timber City Coffee and Tea - an establishment that recently opened up a storefront in Plainfield. Milkhouse also plans to carry Circle Kombucha, though I did not see it available today. They are also exploring options for root beer on tap. I loved my drink, though I did think the ice melted super quickly and that slightly hindered my enjoyment of the drink. I still enjoyed it, however, that does keep me from forking over a 5th star. Who knows? I hope I get to award that in the future as this new kid on the block, women-owned and operated, really gets going. There's much to love here with an appealing truck, friendly service, quality products that are also local, and an overall winning experience. Here's hoping they'll be back at Statehouse Market in the near future. I could not find an actual address, though they are active on social media and do have a website. They seem to be particularly active in the Morgan/Hendricks county area.

I like the menu is simple and to the point. Expressos that can be iced or hot, cappuccino, lattes, Americanos, chai lattes are what they offer. Milks - almond, oat, or whole. Caramel, vanilla, and mocha are the options for flavorings. Whipped cream and extra espresso shots are also available. It's a cute truck. I will be keeping my eye out for them again. I've been a loyal customer since the days of the physical member card, and even now that everything is digital, I still enjoy coming here. While I was there, the barista Marcus (I believe that was his name) was friendly and pleasant throughout my visit. I noticed some coupons displayed in the window and asked if I could have the coupon sheet to use on my return trip. This is not uncommon because they give these to customers to use. He was about to give them to me when another barista stopped him and said that the ones he was handing me were their last sheet. I was a bit confused, since the coupons were clearly displayed in the drive-thru window, and I wondered if more could simply be printed. When I asked, I was told they hadn't received additional sheets yet, so they couldn't give out the last ones. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any effort to offer an alternative or accommodate the request, which was disappointing. I ended up leaving feeling a bit uncomfortable despite the great service from Marcus. The lady wasn't very kind with her approach but denying me coupons to SUPPORT a local business wasn't on my bingo card for my birthday. Anyway, I enjoyed my coffee, the initial service and supporting a locally owned business.

The owner, Felipe Espay, personally placed all the pizza boxes into the venue's warming oven himself, told me to leave it on for 'no longer than 10 minutes,' and explicitly instructed me to turn it off so they would just stay warm for the event. I set a timer and followed his instructions exactly. Despite this, the gluten-free pizza arrived severely burnt and inedible (see attached photos), leaving the guest of honor without her meal. The rest of the bulk pizza order was also heavily overcooked, featuring virtually no cheese and a rubbery, hard-to-chew crust. Because I was hosting a busy party, I only managed to photograph the burnt gluten-free pizza before realizing toward the end of the event that guests weren't eating what should have been high-quality, authentic Italian pizza. While the owner did eventually refund the gluten-free pizza, his follow-up emails defensively blamed me for overcooking the food in a deactivated oven. Sadly, after years of loyalty, we will not be returning due to this terrible quality control and refusal to take responsibility.

This location is just off Quaker Blvd. near the I-70 interchange and is quite convenient to the gaggle of airport hotels clustered around it. The building and the interior are reminiscent of Midwestern family-style restaurants. The facility is comfortable with ample seating, however, having both booths and tables. The breakfast menu features traditional Midwestern breakfast fare with pancakes, of course, as a cornerstone offering. We visited on a Friday morning and were seated right away. Our server, Amy, took care of us quickly and did a good job throughout our visit. My colleague went with the theme and got the big stack of six pancakes, too much for one sitting. He also got a side of fresh fruit, which was a nice offering. I went a little heavier and got the corned beef hash, a favorite of mine. Here, it comes with hash browns, which is a little unusual. I certainly appreciated this nuance. I also had some hash and potatoes left over to take away. We both thought our choices to be quite good. The coffee was not bad and more than adequate with food (not sure how it would be on its own, which is the ultimate test for coffee). Between the two of us with food, drink, tax and tip, we spent $42. By today's standards, that's not unreasonable. It was not a bad value considering we each had enough to take away for another meal. I would not hesitate to go back if another opportunity arose.
