They made a drink incorrectly (took the order wrong) and when we asked they began to argue with us about the drink we ordered. I would avoid this Starbucks. I work down on Logue Ave. I come here sometimes when I need a pick me up. First couple times were great had a great staff and fast with my drink. However, the last few times, unfortunately, as the other reviews have stated I encountered the rude staff. *sigh* had to stand and wait in line while an employee (that was on the clock, because she was the one who rang me up) buys her panini. Didn't receiver a "hello we will be right with you" from either of the two woman at the register. There was a friendly guy making the drinks (he could tell I was getting irritated fairly quick) and told me they would be with me shortly. I try to avoid this place not because of employees but because of their slow service in the morning. No matter how early I get there (15 or 20 minutes) they always get my drinks late. The nice guy (with glasses) at the cash register needs to understand that it's okay to be friendly to the customers and chat around but also understand that there are ten other people in line waiting to place their orders. I miss my "work shuttle" every time I stop by here, and it's frustrating. I try to avoid this place but sometimes if I have few extra minutes I try to stop by and always end up missing my bus. It is not just me, I have overheard people in the line that their service is slow. I hope you guys understand that people are busy in the mornings and everyone is trying to get to work on time. My suggestion to store manager: from 6:00-9/10:00 am have two people on the cash register, two people making drinks, and one person handling food. I hope you guys take this feedback seriously because it will help you with the business. Or else people like myself will take their business somewhere else. read more

Our local Starbucks is friendly and the people know us and are sweet to our alternative polyamorous family. They are always quick to remake a drink if it isn't tasting to perfection, even if it was served as advertised. They stayed open through construction of the shopping plaza they are in and helped to anchor it for the neighborhood during lean times. They have outlasted the supermarket and other stores. Three strikes in the matter of a few hours give this place one star. 1. ordered a dark coffee. most Starbucks are out of dark by the middle of the day, but will kindly offer to make you a pour-over. the barista instead offered to make me an Americano. Umm no how about you make the customer what he asked for. 2. same barista mopping the floor later, touched my feet with the mop. I'm not super offended by this, things happen but that's the bad customer service I expect from a common janitor , not from a Starbucks barista. If you're mopping, don't mop the customer's shoes. In fact, just stay clear of that radius around my feet in general. It's annoying and an intrusion of my space. 3. probably the worst of all, they closed the shop down 30 minutes before closing time - told all the customers they had to leave. then the baristas had their friends come in and they had a good time socializing for a bit. very unprofessional and it wasn't some company training session either. this isn't your personal hangout spot. it's a business. what you do reflects poorly on the store and ultimately on Starbucks read more

Don't listen to the other negative reviews maybe they all just went on a busy day after rush our! I was working at this Starbucks again today and saw something I thought was pretty amazing for such a busy store. A guy at the table next to mine was working on his laptop and accidentally spilled his coffee. As he was trying to clean his laptop and backpack, one of the young ladies that works at this location came out from behind the counter with napkins and a wet rag to help him clean. Once she realized just how much had been spilled, she not only brought out a mop and bucket to make sure the floor wouldn't get sticky - she had also remade the man's drink. She took the time to assure him it was no trouble, and went out of her way to ask if she could do anything else for him. He was visibly relieved by her superior customer service. She realized the drink had spilled because the table was wobbly and came back out with some napkins, placing them under the table legs to stabilize it so it wouldn't happen again. I'm always amazed at people who take a little extra time to go above and beyond. I'll definitely be coming back to this Starbucks. read more

That's fine I suppose, but after reading it in other reviews perhaps they're just friends of people that visit. This Starbucks is consistently out of the regular bacon sandwich that I love so much, so I try to come here only in the afternoon when I'm not hungry. The drinks are quite delicious here, as many other Starbucks stores seem to have soapy coffee drinks. This is one of my favored Starbucks in Mountain View (the other being on Castro). I love the staff, and almost all of them know me by name or at least recognize me. I used to enjoy coming here to work remotely for part of the day, but now that the one on Castro is closer, I normally go there instead. There aren't too many outlets to plug in, so keep that in mind if you want to use your computer for a long period of time. Also, if I've ever had a problem here they are more than happy to give me free drink coupons. I'm not sure if that's because the staff and I got along so well or what, but who am I to complain about free coffee? This is my neighborhood Starbucks, meaning that is a mere eight minute walk from my house. This is were I go when "I need to get out of the house" for whatever reason. It's a busy atmosphere, but a good place to bring my laptop when I am writing a paper for grad school. There are electrical outlets scattered around the walls. The coffee and tea are acceptable. There was no extra charge for an extra tea bag both times I went last week. I like to order my beverage "for here" because I get that nice caf feeling when I'm sipping from a ceramic mug. The baristas are generally friendly as well as competent. Yes, you get that world-class Starbucks service. One minor complaint, the table where we were sitting was a tad filthy, crumbs and such. read more

Great location, layout, and staff. The hours used to be great as well for me to stop by and hang after work. Then they started closing at 7:30 PM. Now they've change the hours again and they close at 7 PM. This is my main grievance and reason for the 2 stars. The only thing that keeps me from going lower are the people. Very different from the typical Starbucks: WEAK: - Lots of construction going on right outside (December 2008) so I got all dusty just walking in. Really dirty inside the store too, especially for Starbucks which is usually sterilely clean. - Two paid wifi access points (AT&T and T-Mobile) but the free Mountain View Google Wifi tempts you, just out of range. - The guy wrote my name as "Wain" on my cup. C'mon... - My chair was wobbly. It sounds stupid but it was super annoying. GOOD: - The barista cared about the long line and quickly took people's orders before they hit the beginning of the line so the wait for a drink was super short. - They have the breakfast sandwiches, which I like. - Plenty of power outlets if you want to bring a laptop. No hassles for sitting there a while if you need to get some work done. - Interesting mix of customers for the South Bay. It's no SF but the conversations I was eavesdropping on were fascinating. - Free samples. Yeah, they gave me a sample of what I had already ordered, but it's the thought that counts. - The barista completely forgot who I was like 5 minutes after I left the counter. You don't expect personal neighborhood coffee shop service from a Starbucks, but like with McDonald's, you expect consistency across stores and the clean, corporate experience. The staff generally seems friendlier than other ones in the area. With that said, it's Starbucks. I drove by this starbucks while looking for a coffee shop to do work. THis is a very spacious starbucks with the regular starbucks' mood lighting. Leather couches, sofa cafe table seating, and tables along the wall. There is even a TV in the middle that tells you what song is playing! The staff is friendly and the trashcan isn't overfilled. They didn't make my iced Machta correctly as it was made of too much milk. I asked them to remake it and they did. The more experienced employee re-made it and it tasted better. It still didn't taste right, but I had to leave. They may have left the milk out to long. It tasted warm on the first one. They seemed a little off compared to all other Starbucks. read more

Absolutely LOVE this location! I know "Starbucks is Starbucks" but this one is really standout. There's usually plenty of seating for everyone which is definitely a plus. I go there fairly regularly and the staff is always upbeat and always seem happy to be there (if you've ever had a run in with a rude barista, you know how enjoyable it is to meet a nice one). I am only giving this location 3 stars because they were really good about offering a refill. Today around 2:30pm I purchased an iced soy macchiato and to my surprise it had curdled at the bottom of my cup, after letting it sit while I was driving to work. I am disgusted to the thought that they might not be checking their expiration dates. Also regarding time, I am not sure if this location is a training store or what but almost every single time I go in there, they take 15+ min. on a basic drink such as black iced tea! either they need to get more staff or they need to retrain. A Starbucks is your typical 3 star establishment. Not customer hostile or anything like that, but not spectacular. They seem to be leading the charge of the overpriced coffee movement (which I find bizarre, so I try to order the cheapest thing on the menu). Starbucks is middle of the road. Plus, they have free wifi and don't typically glare at you if you just chill on one of their tables for a bit. I was standing in line and the guy in front of me spits out an order consisting of over 10 words, most of them modifiers. I don't remember exactly what it was - something like "venti decaf iced no room frappacino" or something. I was totally intimidated when I stepped up and timidly asked for a tall dark roast. I figured the guy would call me out for my lack of adjectives, which clearly indicated me as a non-Starbucks regular. Fortunately, nothing disastrous took place. When I got my coffee the guy waved away my credit card. "It's July 4th - free tall drink." Awesome!! It was fairly suspicious that there were no indications of a free coffee anywhere around the Starbucks. It's like they only wanted to reward loyal customers, which is funny since this was my first time over there in 2 weeks. Still, I can't get angry over a free drink. read more

I go to the counter to order my drink and the girl just leaves and heads through the back door. I'm thinking, she couldn't take my order first?! Another employee (making drinks) finally acknowledges me and takes my order. I proceed to wait for my drink and noticed 3 customers that were behind me received their drink first?! I didn't order anything difficult to make, just an iced coffee like the other customers. This location has the most unfriendly and professional employees I've ever encountered at a Starbucks location and I frequent plenty of others. Will definitely avoid this specific location. read more
