They were short staffed on New Year's eve and the employee was nice to say she will be right with me and to say thank you for waiting. And she explained they were short staffed due to the snow and some people not making it to work. I appreciated that and updated my review to 5 stars. The drink came fast for being short staffed and the food came shortly after warmed up. The snow was cleared away enough to be able to get to the door easily and able to park in the lot. read more

Came in around 4. Three employees working. Put in an order for 5 drinks, not many others there and a couple in the drive through (order went through at 3:59, didn't leave til 4:25). Waited over 20 minutes for our drinks- employees just seemed incompetent and oblivious that we were waiting for our drinks forever. Yesterday was a sad day for me at Starbucks, and it's important for you to know that I don't go to Starbucks every day. Going there is an event, and on this day I've only got $3 in my pocket and I don't want to take the time to transfer money from my account to my Starbucks card. "Can I please have you add these $3 to my Starbucks card?" She says, "No, it must be a minimum of $5." Me, "Huh?" Disbelief takes over as I think it's probably about the same amount of effort to add $3 as it is to add $5. I must have really looked dumbfounded as I stood there extending the three one dollar bills in her direction. She reiterates her point. I buy a cup of coffee, but it was tainted by the way I felt about the transaction. I'm sure she was just following company policy, but it's not a policy that I understand, and thus I'll need to rethink how I spend this discretionary part of my budget. Again, I've been schooled with the notion that businesses in the customer service industry should attempt to make the customer happy. I don't get it, and it will be a while before I can go to a Starbucks again. read more

There's this Starbucks in Minden, NV and another Starbucks located at the other end of town in Gardnerville, NV. Trust me, go to the Gardnerville, NV location. This one in Minden is awful, I kept going back because I thought it would get better and it doesn't. Even with different shifts and employees. They are EXTREMELY slow and rude every single time. I am relatively new to coffee, in general, so after seeing the big promo of their "Pistachio Latte", I figured I'd go to the biggest coffee shop in America so I would get the best cup of coffee. Came to this location after being turned away from Carson's Target that was not properly equipped to scan the Starbucks app for BOGO Happy Hour. Liz was very pleasant and nice upon taking our drive thru order. There was no issue scanning the Starbucks app to apply the BOGO for Happy Hour. Even used a GC and she had no trouble applying that either! Staff is masked and gloved during these CO-VID times. They hand your drinks by setting it inside a mug, so you remove your cup from the mug and there is no contact. GREAT SERVICE!!! Will return! read more

The wife and I have been going to this Starbucks since it opened. We usually go between 7 and 7:30am. I always order my coffee with coconut milk. Sure, there have been little things wrong, it happens and we move on. But these past 4 days our order has been consistently wrong. First day, I ordered hot pumpkin spice with coconut milk. When I arrived at my destination I took a big swig and luckily was outside and able to spit the coffee out. I was sure I got someone else's coffee with cream, no pumpkin or spice or coconut milk. I am allergic to any dairy, so I use coconut or almond milks. Next day we went and the very young woman apologized and gave me a free replacement that was correct. Following day we ordered and I specifically reminded the same young woman that mine was with coconut milk, she assured me it was. Got to where I was going and it was milk. Aarrrrggg Again we go and ordered. I drove up to the window, same young woman. I explained about the milk, she said "you said the same thing a few days ago, how do I know you're not lying?" I swear my jaw hit the steering wheel. Seriously? I said well as a matter of fact you don't know if I'm lying, I'm not by the way. I asked for the manager and she told me "the manager was not there yet and I was holding up the line behind me." Last time we've been to Minden StarBucks. I ordered through the app this morning to pick up some coffee for my wife and I. There were only two women working when I got there at 10:10am! Talk about understaffed! Those two ladies did such a great job handling the wave of customers coming through the door! Absolutely amazing! The lady making the drinks was so professional! Especially when she had two people yelling obnoxiously at her for orders, remaining calm and courteous. The lady taking orders was very patient with customers and was also dealing with complaints to help remedy the situation she was listening and doing everything she could to make sure the person was happy when they left. I am so impressed, I will be calling to speak with a manager later on in the day. Working in management myself for a long time I was truly impressed with their team work this morning...good job!!!! read more

During this Holiday stay in Genoa, I've done the Tour de Starbucks. That includes the one in North Carson City, Gardnerville, and now Minden. Gayle and I have been to the Minden Outpost before, which is traffic-wise hidden behind the DQ next door. We came in today to catch a Wi-Fi signal related to my Son's Homework assignment, to get some decent coffee, and to buy a NY Times and WSJ for later guest reading. This is an "A-OK" Starbucks that is a bit on the small side, both in terms of space and comfortable places to sit. This time around, the Locals sightings and overheard conversations were interesting and worth some extra time to hang around a bit longer. read more

I stop in here once or twice a week on average. Over the past year the service and quality have been steadily declining. Today was one of those "last straw" kind of experiences. We didn't order anything complicated: 3 egg bites, 1 oatmeal, 1 Americano, 1 soy milk -Did not include a fork for the egg bites -Did not include a spoon for oatmeal (we realized and asked before driving away) -Oatmeal turned out to be overfilled with lukewarm water resulting in a cold thin mess -Americano was cold This stuff is the basics with regard to quality control. Martin's review is right on as far as my experience as well. I was sort of surprised myself by the weird behavior of the employees working here. I came here to order my usual drink sweetened iced green tea. When I entered, I immediately saw an older white haired woman working behind the counter cleaning. There was also a young man working the drive-thru with a headset. I approached the register and was ignored for a good 3 minutes. I was looked at but no smile, no "hello", no "hold on a second, I will be right there with you". But what bothered me the most about this experience was the major flirting going on between a young man who is probably 17 and a woman well over 55. This young man proceeded to poke and play with this older woman and give her kissy faces. (OMG please stop...sooooo gross!!) Finally the old lady helped me and the young man made my drink and I was on my way. Strange behavior at this location.....Minden is a quiet boring town but it doesn't excuse this behavior. Creeeeepy! Oh and if you come here, your drink will cost more. My drink was 13 cents more then what I pay at home in the Bay Area. It probably cost more to deliver to this location since its out in the middle of nowhere...so bring extra change with you when you order. read more

Customer service is unpredictable at best. Some days they are nice, attentive, competent. Other days they can be exceptionally rude, dismissive, condescending to customers [at worst]. Good internet [free]. Good drinks and foods, except they RUN OUT OF the protein boxes and some sandwiches before my lunch break daily. So if I want something I have to buy it at 8:00am. I hope my little review can provide a different perspective for anyone considering this particular Starbucks. I've never encountered any weird behavior here, in fact the employees have always been extremely nice to me and my children: there are a couple employees who address me by name when I walk in, I have been offered complimentary items from the pastry case from time to time, and transactions have never been less than pleasant. The employees seem to like each other and their customers and always seem to be enjoying their job. The interior is roomy and pleasant, and there is a great outdoor seating area that is shaded and cool during the hot Carson Valley summers. There's at least one table inside that is situated next to an electrical outlet if your laptop is dying. (The only problem I've ever had here is several times in the past they have run out of soy milk, but that hasn't happened in a long time.) Love this place and my family and I will continue to stop here for our Starbucks fix. read more

Having been a Starbucks barista before, I realize that my review is a bit biased. That being said, I was appalled. Luckily the woman who took my order was sweet and helpful. But after that, it was down hill. I am a writer and coffee shops are the best way for me to get away from home distractions and just write. But even with my headphones on this was ridiculous. I recognize that the time I went was right after the high school got out. That by itself would have been fine. Kids don't stay forever after all and I can handle a little noise. That being said, while the kids were loud and obnoxious, the baristas ignored every timer that went off for at least five minutes. The constant beeping was not only distracting, but also very annoying. I know those timers are to change the coffee grounds, clean the store front and whatnot, so when five minutes pass and no one even acknowledges the beeping, I question the structure of the store. Especially the coffee beeper. If the coffee timer goes off and you're still serving from that roaster, you are giving people old, stale coffee. It's a health and quality concern that peeved me to no end. I'm thankful the Starbucks I worked in ran better than this one. It was clean, consistent and enjoyable to sit in for extended periods of time. Which says a lot considering my Starbucks was in a casino. read more

It's a Starbucks shop so the coffee is pretty standard. The inside of the place is very small. It has the usual Starbucks decoration and only a few seating areas inside. Definitely not a good meeting spot because you can't count on having seating or even standing room. There are some seats available outside of the weather is nice. The service is pretty slow inside. Each time I've stopped in with about 4 people we have to wait awhile to get all of our orders. But at least we knew to expect it. Knowing that service was slow, my coworker and I decided to try the drive through. There were only 4 cars in the line. BUT we waited about 30 minutes to get our drinks. Sadly, I'm not exaggerating. We watched the cars in front of us get their orders and nobody had a large order so it seemed that they were just VERY slow. Once we finally ended up at the pickup window, they didn't have the drink ready. Then they gave us the incorrect drink. Then they remade the drink, only to find out a few hours later that they did not make it with soy and somebody had a very negative reaction to it. We made it very clear to make it soy to avoid a bad reaction. So after 30 minutes of waiting, they made our order wrong twice. I would suggest getting coffee at a different location if you're in any sort of a hurry. read more

I don't come to this location very often but today is the last time I come here. I called ahead for a traveler box of coffee to be ready at 9:30. I sat in the drive thru for 15 minutes while the barista talked and showed off her tattoo to what seemed like a friend. The car ahead of me had already received her drink but was waiting on her food, it was one item. I am not sure what they were doing but since when does it take 15 minutes to heat up a single order?! I'm livid because here was no consideration for time, nor did they say "thank you for waiting" or apologize at any time. This review is very late and far overdue. About a month ago I went in and ordered a sugar free pumpkin spice latte. I did not know that starbucks doesn't carry the pumpkin spice syrup in sugar free. The lady at the register looked at me like I was an idiot and asked me what sugar free pumpkin syrup was. I told her I thought I had gotten it at another starbucks. The cashier made it very clear to me that she was the manager and sugar free didn't exist. Then she asked me what starbucks I had got the sugar free from and what the cashiers name was ( of course I didn't recall). Then the manager got really loud and almost acted excited that she was proving me wrong. I felt so uncomfortable and even a little belittled by her response. She got a chai which I tried and I regretted, tasted as I remembered, grossly over sugared. Don't even mention the burnt motor oil they call coffee. Forget about it. Customer service was good when my rewards cards rang up as having no free drink. But after leaving I noticed my drink tasted wrong. The sticker on my drink had the right drink name (white mocha soy). I'm just hoping it still soy because of my son's milk allergy. (I breastfeed). We have a hard enough time as is without other people screwing up our orders. read more

This is probably the worst starbucks I have ever been to or encountered. The employees are rude, they never get orders right and they take forever. Complaining to the manager has never helped. One time I went there with an order, the older red haired lady didnt get ANY of my order right and when I called her on it, all she did was stare at me.
