What a cool place? Whenever we are out and about and checking out new things, we always try to find some good local coffee. We took the kids to Genoa and after wanted to warm up a bit. This coffee place has always been one that we've seen whenever we've driven out of town to go to SoCal and always said "we need to check this place out someday". Super glad that we finally did, I got a peppermint latte and the wife got a toffee latte. They even have locally made ice cream and the kids enjoyed chocolate brownie, and cookies and cream. The lattes were both great flavored and really well made with beans brewed from Old World Coffee (Reno) beans. Which is our favorite roaster in the area. Honestly with our travels out of state and internationally, we found that Old World has the best roasted beans around. There's plenty of space in the main part of the coffee shop and a side room with a community table and even an area for kids to play and read books. I wish we had a good coffee place like this in the Sparks area. This will definitely be a staple when we're in town. read more

We've stopped in here a few times over the years as it's a great place to stop with clean restrooms, spacious interior, and exterior seating, nice people and good coffee. We stopped in on this trip in the afternoon, so grabbed a couple of iced tea and tried their chicken pesto quiche. It was a nice snack for us to share between us. We'll keep coming! read more

The employees are so nice and warm. I like the decor they have of the different NV license plates on the wall. We got the iced chai latte and an iced matcha, and they were so delicious. The chai was perfectly sweet, and the iced matcha was smooth with no clumps. The cups they offer when you stay there are also cute, with their brand design. read more

Coffee here is decent. There are lots of comfy places to sit inside and outside here. We were there with our pup, so we sat at one of the square tables outside the front door. I can see that this would be a good place for reading, writing letters, or working on any writing project. I liked that it was an independant and not part of a large chain. DST Coffee is a great little coffee stop with long hours and affordable prices in the heart of Gardnerville. I think for a local coffee shop, DST might have the best prices in the game. Sick of getting ripped off at Starbucks for a crappy cup of $9 coffee? DST is your spot! Three drinks for $16! They also have a small selection of merch and pastries. The barista was super nice and very helpful. She made several recommendations for another guest who asked about their popular drinks and unique choices. She recommended the lavender latte or the matcha! There is a beautiful inside and outdoor space at DST as well, so be sure to put aside some time to sit and enjoy no matter the weather! This place came highly recommended by our server at a local restaurant/bar so I had to try it. From the outside I honestly had my doubts but inside the vibe was cool with various seating options. Barista was welcoming and did a great job on my Toasted Coconut latte which is a summer special. It was a unique drink with the bits of coconut but I loved it and the espresso was spot on. We also enjoyed a warm, gooey chocolate croissant that was delicious. Would definitely visit again if in the area. read more

I ordered a London fog and it was really good, I love earl grey tea. One (of many) bias that I have is to find a local independent coffee shop vs. Starbucks. Gayle and I stopped in this morning after our workout at the Douglas Community Center. CONS - None Really +/- DST could up their game a bit regarding their scones and muffins. The older prepackaged look does not appeal at first. However, my biscotti was pretty good. PROS 1. Local Ice Cream (Hoch and Tahoe Creamery) is offered at at reasonable prices. 2. Nice community vibe, with 3 rooms offering varying amounts of privacy and light. The space accommodated us, folks on their computer, and small group get togethers. 3. Gayle's cappuccino and my plain black coffee were both very good. 4. Easy access (and departure) from US 395 and decent parking. 5. Fast and friendly counter service. read more

3.5/5 Saw this coffee shop while shopping and really needed a caffeine fix. Walking in, it is a big coffee shop perfect for working or meeting up with friends. It's your average order at the counter and pick up when it's ready. Since it was my first time, the barista told me about their seasonal drinks which looked delicious but I went for something else. I liked that their menu had an illustration of the drinks, the layers, and what goes inside of it. I personally do not like coffee so it was nice to see what I would be drinking. I was aware of what drinks had espresso and which did not. I went for a basic hot chai with oat milk. If you are looking for a familiar drink, this would be the perfect one. The drink was super hot, too hot as I burned my tongue after the first sip even after blowing on it. I think that it took about 45 mins for the drink to come down to a good temperature. I would like to try an iced drink next time if I am ever in the area again. read more

I went to DST this AM 2/14, ordered a hot latte, and the girl at the counter refused to add whipped cream to my drink. She had a whipped cream used for ice cream and other drinks within arms reach but wouldn't add it. It's so silly. Why? The previous two days I ordered the same thing and had to basically beg to have whipped cream added. This time no dice. So I went to Starbucks which has inferior coffee but does what the customer asks. read more

Here they played Fleetwood Mac, REO Speedwagon, Led Zeppelin etc. A much more enjoyable sound than those other places. I would return just for the real music! I had black coffee and bagel brekfast sandwich - ham/cheese with egg toasted. The breakfast sandwich was good. Perfectly toasted! The drip coffee comes in one size only. Aproximately 10 oz cup is my guess. BUT, if you dine in, you can have free refills. Im not sure if they have different roasts/darkness of drip coffee to choose from because the employee just pumped my coffee from a container. My guess is the coffee is a medium roast. I thought the coffee was okay. I had two cups of it. It seemed like the flavor had a slight bitter taste. Not over whelming, thats why I said it was okay. I would return to try the drip coffee again and check its consistency. This place is a definite try if you havnt been here. Especially cause I have not tried any of their coffee cocktails. Coffee. Good quality snob level coffee all the way down in Minden/Gardnerville metro. The coffee is Old World which is a local roaster in Reno. They have some of the best coffee in Nevada. It's basically the coffee I learned to be a snob on. Lots of flavor and character with not all of the over roasted death that you get with the chains or the other local places that get bad beans. They are far from snobby though. The people have always been friendly and swift when I order. They have it dialed in to a great science. In notes other than coffee I have enjoyed an ice cream or two when I have driven through town on the way to Los Angeles and have even partaken in a quiche or two in the mornings work takes me to the area. Parking with a large vehicle sucks. So plan ahead and park in the street behind the building and walk over if you have a larger vehicle. If you have a normal sized vehicle...they have lots of parking. They also have lots of space inside and outside to enjoy your coffee. This isn't some closet to get you your caffeine fix. It's a great place to hang with a small group and chat. They do have social distancing measures in place during the pandemic so take that into consideration when heading there. read more

DST Coffee is a great little place in the Minden/Gardnerville area that every coffee addict ought to check out. If you like lattes, they have the classic flavors like caramel and vanilla, but I particularly like their seasonal flavors...can't remember all of them, I think they have had pumpkin spice, toasted coconut and an orange flavor around Christmas. Prices are a little higher than average, but so worth it! They also offer some pastries, bagels, and a few hot foods like burritos. The inside space is a very comfy hang out spot, and they have a few books and games if you're looking for something to do while drinking your coffee. If you live in Reno, it's a bit of a drive, but that's not an issue with me, as I travel down that area often on weekends. The staff are always friendly, never a frown on anyone's face! All of which makes for a good place for regulars. read more

I love looking at how restaurants, cafes, and breweries are designed. Some places spend no time on design and focus on the food. For others, the reverse is true; all the focus is on design and no energy on the food. The truly unique places mesh the best of both worlds. While I can't confirm the quality of food at DST coffee, the London Fog was pretty good. However, I can attest that it is one of the best designed coffee shops or restaurants in Gardnerville. I liked the heavy use of license plates in the design. They confer the idea of movement and the pride of home, Nevada, at the same time. My wife and I got a couple London Fogs because we wanted less caffeine in the middle of the day. I had never seen it before, but I loved the idea. Except for high quality black teas, most black tea is overly bitter. Milk cuts the bitterness and you're left with a smooth creamy tea. read more

Great atmosphere but I'm not a coffee person like my fiancé so I was looking forward to a nice Chai tea which I was happy to see they had but they use Oregon chai mix so wasn't going to even get one but asked the barista if they could make it spicier and he said yes they had a spicy spice mix I said use a lot of it, but I couldn't even taste anything just milk and sugar with some cinnamon so needless to say I was kinda disappointed but fiancé said his coffee was ok. I really like the building and the patio section. I wish they had some better non coffee choices and a nice spicy chai that's unique and not a basic mix. read more
