Wow! So Sad!! My wife is traveling to Nevada on a stormy night on hwy 88 from California through the snow and she stopped at what she thought would be a safe friendly Starbucks to use the restroom and get a coffee. Luckily she was able to use the restroom but when she went to order the employee said, "sorry! We are officially closed!!!" I know this employee didn't know that my wife is headed through horrible weather to help with a new baby that is expected to be born anytime....but this is sad and we will never give our business to this location ever again and neither should You!!! read more

I completely disagree with the three-star rating for this starbucks. I could not have been more pleased. To start with the service was very fast. I really appreciated that the worker offered to hand me the lime coconut bar in its original plastic container versus wasting a paper bag to put a plastic bag in a paper bag. The coffee tasted great and was exactly the right temperature. This is obviously more of a neighborhood/community starbucks. Everyone seemed to know everyone. The bathroom was immaculately clean. Convenient parking right outside the door. By comparison, yesterday I visited another Starbucks in this city. It was the polar opposite on all accounts. read more

Wow, this is a really nice Starbucks location! The inside is nice and large and has lots of table space and seating to set up the laptop and get a little work done. Where I live in Red Bluff CA is waaay too hot now and is gonna be over the 4th of July weekend like 108F - 109F! so it up to Tahoe for me! Stopping here in Gardnerville Starbucks to get a little coffee and use the WiFi, It works fine so there;s that too. Glad the AC works here too! read more

This is the worst Starbucks!!! I went in to grab my mobile order and yes, I had waited 8 minutes before walking in. The overweight barista wearing the yellow sweater was busy chit chatting with a few customers. She and the other staff never even acknowledged me nor the other 3 mobile order customers as well. Fifteen minutes went buy with no order being completed for me. One barista set cups of coffee ordered on the mobile pick up table but not on any "letters" showing which customer ordered which drink. Nobody called out any orders but they kept placing them on the bar. There were about 7 baristas working and nobody acknowledged any mobile ordering customers. I asked if my coffee was ready and let her know I was waiting 15 minutes and she asked me for my name. After she located my drink, she said in a snotty tone, "Your coffee is right here". No sticker name was on the cup, no employee called out any names of customers who placed mobile orders and the main barista in the yellow sweater was extremely short and rude. Never again will I go to this Starbucks even though I live five minutes away. read more

C'mon Starbucks, you're a freakin chain. I'm convinced they put items on the menu that they never plan to supply to get customers in the door when they would choose to go elsewhere. This location is always out of everything. No oat milk, no cold cream foam, nothing. Today I asked if I could substitute something for the pumpkin cold brew and they said they were out. Then I asked for the Honey Almond Cream cold brew and they said they're basically out but can sub honey for me. She didn't specify they were out of the cream as well. I ended up being charged $4.25 for just regular coffee with a splash of almond milk and honey. That is hardly the same order and should not be charged so much. It was nasty. Finding a Starbucks at the edge of Gardnerville was a refreshing sight that embraces both old and new establishments co-existing in town. Yes it's just another branch but service here is more friendly and attentive than most places located in urban areas. Got our drink and food orders right. We were passing through town after spending a few nights in Lake Tahoe but the great service we'll always remember and consider when we come back. read more

Everyone at this Starbucks is always nice, but 9 out of 10 times I go, my drinks are 3/4 filled. These drinks are not drank out of this is how they came. Not only that, my boyfriends drink which was a white mocha was so bitter it was hard to drink, and the sauce wasn't stirred in to the point that the bottom of the cup was ice cold from the syrup sitting at the bottom. I usually don't complain but when I pay $15 for drinks it's really disappointing to get this. read more

OK so I've been going to the Starbucks for the past couple of weeks and every single time I go in there they mess up my order somehow. I get the same thing every time I go in but every time I go to go get my drink it's messed up somehow whether they put whip cream on it even though I ask for none or don't put coffee in it when I want coffee. I asked him to remake it because I want coffee or I can't have the whip cream from there. The servers are always so abruptly rude to me I do not recommend going to the Starbucks location at all. I asked for an iced chai and it came out hot. i then nicely asked for it to be iced. they proceeded to top my drink off with ice. i was left with a luke warm drink that tasted of paper and water. not even chai tasting. on top of all this i left them a nice tip! read more

l don't go too often but staff is great whenever I have been in here! Kind and friendly! fast too! I love the egg bites and the pink drink i get! Nice place to stip and rest in the store if you are traveling and need to stop.. only down side is they close kind of early.. little cakes are to die for.. the lemon slice and the cake pops! I came into this Starbucks yesterday for a Cup of Joe (Black) and a Newspaper. They were out of the NY Times, but the Reno Gazette and WSJ were available. My Tall/Small coffee was served with a smile by Janice and both staff and customers were in good cheer coming up to the New Year. The only downside to this place is it's strip mall location and a few challenging turns (mostly to avoid darting cars) to get here. The interior space is also interesting, particularly the long "computer table" in a semi-separate room to the left. read more

I am back at it again and I haven't checked in here as many times as I should. I've been here multiple times and feel the exact same way EVERY TIME I get helped by this one particular person. I truly believe that this person is condescending and incredibly rude. I can't be the only person that feels this way or maybe I'm the one single person that she dislikes. Her personality is sucks! It seems as though she fakes being nice. I've come in here today and ordered a drink. Unfortunately she was the one making the drinks. *insert sad face here* There was drink being made for the person in the drive thru and I was curious as to what it is so that I could order it next time. I asked her what drink that was and her response, "I have no idea". Not in a nice way of course. She was rude! Didn't even bother to look up to see. Absolutely nothing! I even stood there for a few seconds to see if she'd look. Still nothing. Wow. Just wow! How does she even work here still. Don't work in customer service if you don't like people. Or maybe it's because I don't have the same skin color as her because she seems nice to everyone else. Trust me, I'm a very observant person and I notice how others are treated. I wish that Starbucks would read their reviews. For anyone passing through, there is a Starbucks less than five miles north. Go there, they are much nicer. read more

I came here to get some work done. I was here for about 5 hours. Within this time period, the baristas never once cleaned off any of the tables or the main station the the creamer and sugar. The place looks dirty and unkept. I have never seen a Starbucks that looks so filthy. As far as my drink order, they got this right since I order four shots of expresso on ice. Staff was friendly for the most part, but I really think they need to have someone cleaning off the tables an sweeping the floors ( a lot of trash and crumbs). I'd also like to note that it wasn't very busy. They had a steady flow of customers and I never saw a line form. read more

Unless you plan to move in or enjoy waiting 30 mins for a drink, go to another starbucks. I placed a mobile order at 950am and at 1017 they handed me the wrong drink. At 1025 they handed me a second wrong drink. I went inside to make it right and they told me that was what I ordered, no ma'am. So I ask to just get the money put back on my starbucks account and the manager said no but here is a coupon for $4 off, even though the drink was over $5. The manager explained that it was busy and my drink was probably given to the wrong person. Not one employee apologized for the wait or mistakes. This review is based on visiting this location regularly over the past 2-3 years. Also, my 4-star rating is relative to all Starbuck's locations, not restaurants in general. This is one of the friendliest groups of folks you'll ever find working at at a Starbucks, and they really, really know their drinks. The barristas quickly learn your name and your favorite drink, so this place really has the feel of a neighborhood, locals' coffee shop. (This is part of the overall culture in Gardnerville, by the way.) Amazingly in such a tiny shop, there are often 4-5 employees on any given shift. This is necessary to attend to the line of happy customers who go out of their way to patronize this specific Starbucks. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5-STARbucks rating, is that the store is TOO SMALL. If you get there mid-morning on a winter weekend, you may not be able to find a seat. (This is a very small store with only about 4 small tables inside and another 4-5 small tables outside.) read more

I agree with prior reviews that this Starbucks has some of the most incredibly rude baristas. To be specific-- I ordered a drink that tasted like the milk had gone bad and I asked politely for an older woman to remake it. She had the rudest attitude since the moment I ordered and then almost yelled at me when I asked for a new drink. This woman had the nerve to pretend she remade my drink by taking my drink setting in on the counter and fiddling with the espresso machine. This Starbucks had the most incredibly rude baristas I've encountered. And I worked at Starbucks for 7 years, so I'm for the most part very understand when it comes to customer experience. I now wish we got the name of the female working the drive through telecom. My husband, who doesn't go to Starbucks often, ordered a cold brew. On the sign, it says, new drink, cold brew, and in small letters, with our house made vanilla cream. So he orders a cold brew. She (with attitude already) asks for anything in it. He's confused because he thought it came with the vanilla cream. So he says, um, the cold brew? She says, AN-Y-THING WI-TH THAT. Dragging it out with pauses as if my husband was too dumb to understand her question. The rest of his order is responded with irritated one word responses.
