You order and pay at the cashier near the door, then if eating in the cafe, they give you a number, and bring your order to the table you select. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the service is friendly, and the food is tasty. And... they are right next door to a bookstore! The cafe could not be more perfect. Super cute café attached to the bookstore and definitely worth stopping in. There's plenty of seating, including a cozy little area for kids, which makes it feel really welcoming and relaxed. The menu is surprisingly large with something for everyone, coffee, tea, mimosas, even milkshakes. What can I say about flutter and buzz? Walked in expecting just a coffee shop much to my surprise. They had a phenomenal breakfast and lunch menu, cocktails as well. The owner and the manager both were extremely friendly asking where we're from, how our day was , and if we needed any recommendations for anything. Drinks and food were both top shelf. Lela was super attentive to all of our needs after paying the bill and walking out. We heard a very nice we hope to see you again. Definitely made us feel like we belong there. Sometimes you just need motivation to get up and out and around. Today it was Flutter and Buzz that got us moving, and who knew that the menu was so varied that would have something for both of us We just walked 1.3 miles from Wally's Hot Springs and it was a very sunny day. We were parched and offered a pitcher of water while we waited for our food order. We enjoyed it very much. Curious about the food? We had scrambled eggs with a variety of vegetables and white, sharp cheddar cheese, splendid in. It was delightful. We also shared a blueberry muffin, a Mediterranean avocado toast, and we enjoyed a bowl of fruit as well. The environment was very casual and welcoming. On this visit, we sat on the porch at a table for two and enjoyed the view of downtown Genoa as we ate our breakfast. This establishment let you know that there's more than just a bar in Genoa. This place is the cutest and has really comfortable seating inside and outside. Their menu is a bit confusing they have one menu for food, one menu for coffee, and one menu for alcohol. They then have a few items on a digital menu. We ordered the pollinator sandwich, the Mediterranean avocado toast with a poached egg added($3 extra for the egg) the salty cowgirl coffee, and a hibiscus blueberry iced tea with honey. The Parmesan crusted sourdough on both the sandwich and avocado toast was so delicious. The toppings on the sandwich were fresh but I think it needed a bit more hummus or some type of aioli as it was kind of dry. The avocado on the toast seemed to be some type of premade spread as it didn't have much flavor. This was confusing because all of the other ingredients were extremely fresh. Also on the avocado toast- avocado should be the star of the dish - and unfortunately that wasn't the case. If it was advertised this way I would have gladly paid extra for actual fresh slices of avocado. The egg was poached perfectly which was impressive! The salty cowgirl was the perfect blend of salty and sweet. The tea was refreshing and had a unique and delicious flavor. Overall for the four items it was $50 before tip so it was a bit pricey but also expected for Genoa. They charge 3% for paying with a credit card which I didn't see anywhere (I could have missed it because I wasn't looking for it) but it was on my receipt. Will probably try this place again but won't get the avocado toast unless there is an upgrade! read more

Cute and Friendly Spot [Genoa NV} Located in Nevada's oldest settlement we stopped by this café looking to grab a bite. The establishment looked like a house complete with a porch and stair leading up to the door. When we entered the place it had the comforts similar to like having brunch in a cozy comfortable seating enjoying a cup of joe by a fire, at a table, or on the patio. The vibe was very welcoming and positive. Lots of natural lighting from the many windows. I love the homey and comfort feeling. Couldn't decide if we wanted a savory breakfast or breakfast sweet treats, lunch sandwich or soup & salad. After browsing through the electronic scrolling menu screen we placed our orders at the bar counter. We decided on a Build-Your-Own Scramble with add on options of bacon crumbles, mushroom, spinach, tomatoes and cheese. We picked a table inside the café then shortly after our food was served. The breakfast was delicious, light and tasty... I should've gotten the 3-eggs (I ordered 2 eggs). Absolutely adore everything about this place. Quaint cafe in the small town of Genoa with cute decor and a menu that's to die for. I'd try everyone on there if I could - and the staff is very welcoming. I got the salty cowgirl and croissant boat - both absolutely delicious! I love flutter and buzz for their location, ambiance and coffee but the food is a huge no for me. I've tried breakfast from them twice now and both times it was inedible due to a weird chemical taste on the toasted bread. About 6 months ago I tried their cowboy bagel sandwich and it had this strange butane, lighter fluid flavor on the bagel. I ended up tossing it and assuming it was a one off. Today we went back and I ordered the avocado toast... same weird flavor. It was also very clearly some pre made avocado spread. For the price I would have hoped for some fresh avocado. I ended up taking two bites and tossing it then making my own at home. I came to look at the reviews to see if anyone else was noticing this chemical flavor in hopes the owners would see and change however they toast their bread. Aside from this, I'm sure the food would be pretty good. 10/10 on the coffee so if the food was better we would go a lot more often. read more

Cute little coffee shop/lunch cafe in Genoa, was the perfect stop for my wife and I to grab some coffee as we were exploring the area. Very homey and cute decor and had a fun kids area with toys to play with. We only ordered coffee so can't speak to the food, but the menu looked good and they have a lot of fun options. Flutter & Buzz is a new Breakfast and Lunch Cafe that is located where the Genoa Station Bar & Grille once stood. Gayle and I met for coffee and a nosh this morning with a couple family friends. The new Cafe space has lots of light, room, and light colors. On the other side of the building (and sharing a common door) is the Genoa Wellness Spa. I had previously read with interest in the Record-Courier regarding their Genoa Historic District-related improvements (via the Little Brown Book). Upon entering, the menu was easy to find as it is up up on the screen in front. After ordering at the counter, we took a seat and had our order delivered to our table. The person at the counter informed us that they've only been open a couple weeks and are still working through some of the menu details. One early suggestion that they implemented was having tomato soup available if someone ordered one of their grilled cheese sandwiches. Bakery item sourcing is also in progress, although I found my heated up danish to be quite tasty. Coming soon will be the liquor license, including wine and beer. Gayle and I will definitely be back as we enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to digging through the menu a bit more. And right now, it's one of the few places to get coffee as early as 8 AM in the morning, unless you live here. read more

After all the positive reviews we've been reading about the Flutter & Buzz Cafe, we decided to make the drive across the valley to see what all the flutter & buzz was about...! Located right across from the Genoa Bar on the main street of downtown Genoa, Nevada the restaurant had a nice piece of real estate with some great views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the quaint & historic downtown. The inside has a digital menu advertising the drinks and a chalk board boasting specials and some printed menus to peruse their eats. My wife and I were both in the mood for breakfast and both chose the pictured Breakfast Boat Croissant which was a flaky buttery croissant (the boat) filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, fresh bacon bits, white onion and melted cheddar cheese. Fantastic! The other menu item which almost swayed me to order lunch instead was their assortment of grilled cheese sandwiches paired with some tomato bisque. A friendly lady took our order and we were given a number to bring back to our selected table. The server quickly brought out our drinks and food, checking up on us twice before we left. Two breakfast sandwiches one coffee one tea $50 . I ordered a breakfast sandwich. Definitely not $17 quality. They left the Scrambled eggs in a ball and didn't even try to spread it out evenly. With the round Canadian bacon you can get at any grocer. It was supposed to come with cheese? Nothing special about it. Dry and plain The server came from the back area with headphones on her head placed both our breakfast order side by side on the opposite side of the table where we were sitting and walked away without saying a word. Service was good and food was out quickly- I know everything is expensive in Genoa but you'd think the food would be better quality for how expensive it is. We paid 60$ for two people. The biggest disappointment was unfortunately the Dolgana coffee. I think they must've heated the caramel with the whip because the whipped foam on top tasted so burnt and acidic I couldn't get past it. It's a shame because I used a straw to drink the coffee underneath and the coffee itself tasted great but somehow they burnt the foam so bad it was pretty much inedible. read more

I popped in for the first time with my niece when she came for a visit. She enjoyed the Queen Bee and I, the Salted Cowboy iced espresso drinks. Both were amazing, so much so that I went back for another 2 days later. The tomato bisque was delicious, just the right consistency for this picky girl and so flavorful. The inside is so welcoming and the staff is delightful. I enjoyed learning some of the history of Flutter & Buzz, especially the origins of some of the coffee drinks. This is a very sweet cafe with a good selection of items. The ambiance is welcoming and warm as is the service. The food is hit and miss. Hence the 3 stars. I ordered the avocado toast with two poached eggs. The eggs came firmly overcooked. My cappuccino was fine. My husband had two eggs scrambled with tomatoes and spinach. The portion fit on a saucer plate but it was tasty. He also had a pastry and OJ which was bottled. I think we would have been fine but the total was $60+ with tip, $70. We live in San Francisco area so we're used to pricey meals but this was over priced. Genoa is s upscale, but even in Mill Valley we wouldn't have paid this much for what we got. read more

My sister Fannie and I stopped by Flutter & Buzz, a few days ago, super cool place. We ordered the "Big Dill", grilled cheese and split it.... They put some kind of herb spread on the outside of the bread, pickles, bacon and cheese on the inside and then they grill it, WOW !!!!! Unusual and absolutely delicious.... We also ordered the "Honeybee Harvest salad, to share too, very fresh and good.....They also have the most unusual drink menu, as well...Sis, had a "Genoa Soda", which is made with whole milk, lemon and lavender soda, stellar, must try this.... and I had a "Salted Caramel Espresso" martini, YUMMY. And the service was excellent, being that it was our first time there, but it won't be our last, they explained the menu to us and our waitress, "Christina" was fantastic....."Genoa" is a very small historical town in Nevada, but if you're ever there, you MUST go and have breakfast or lunch at Flutter & Buzz's Cafe. ‍ read more
