Came here after backpacking up at Highland Lakes. Had the turmeric latte and it had a lot of spice in it and tasted best hot. Had a delicious sandwich. We also did a vanilla latte and that was delicious. I did get the kava can drink and was not really impressed. But I can at least say I tried it. It didn't make me feel any special way as advertised. But the food was good and I'd stop here for a quick lunch!

    Breakfast sandwich on everything bagel

Wow!!! Best breakfast sandwich I've had - maybe ever?! And it was huge. Every bite was delicious. I shared some of the bacon with the pups and they were happy, too. I also got the Green Cloud to drink and it was pure yum. We're lucky to have this gem of a cafe in Markleeville

This is a cute spot in a beautiful village. The staff are hard-working and friendly, and the coffee is tasty. Most of the food is bagels and sandwiches, and if you can't eat wheat like me, the one drawback is that the only food-like option is to select from a range of admittedly delicious smoothies.

    Bagel sandwich

The best Reuben my mom and I have had. Their bagel sandwiches are also wonderful and very fresh. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Will def be back!

The food is really expensive and very sub par. The banana nut biscuit was so heavy my stomach ached for 3 days.

Amazing breakfast bagel!! The best bacon ever. And the jalapeno and cheese bagel was perfect.

Cute little cafe. Limited menu. Split a Grovers Hot Pastrami Ruben with hubby. Plenty of lean pastrami, cheese and kraut.

The spinach salad was to die for. Best ever. Nice tables outside and room to sit inside as well. Great chiefs.

What a cool place?…read more Whenever we are out and about and checking out new things, we always try to find some good local coffee. We took the kids to Genoa and after wanted to warm up a bit. This coffee place has always been one that we've seen whenever we've driven out of town to go to SoCal and always said "we need to check this place out someday". Super glad that we finally did, I got a peppermint latte and the wife got a toffee latte. They even have locally made ice cream and the kids enjoyed chocolate brownie, and cookies and cream. The lattes were both great flavored and really well made with beans brewed from Old World Coffee (Reno) beans. Which is our favorite roaster in the area. Honestly with our travels out of state and internationally, we found that Old World has the best roasted beans around. There's plenty of space in the main part of the coffee shop and a side room with a community table and even an area for kids to play and read books. I wish we had a good coffee place like this in the Sparks area. This will definitely be a staple when we're in town.

I can see that this would be a good place for reading, writing letters, or working on any writing project. I liked that it was an independant and not part of a large chain. I'll continue to give them my business when in the area.

The front entrance is like walking into a ski chalet and it opend up into the 'Living Room'. There are a few tables, window benches, and soft chairs to enjoy sitting by the fireplace. My ususal order is a vanilla latte, it never misses here. They also have breakfast pastries and some ready-to-drink canned coffee drinks.

Not a ton of area to park, but I imagine people make it work when it gets super busy. I ordered the Purple Haze iced latte which is a lavender latte. I got it with a little more lavender syrup than normal as I do like lavender lattes. It was really good, but I wish I didn't have them add the lavender topping. That was my mistake. That topping is not edible and is not good. I should have known better. My husband order the brown sugar and spice iced latte. He liked it. It was packed with spices, and not like anything we have ever had before. I also got a bag of beans to go. The baristas asked if I wanted the beans ground, which I appreciated, but declined. The 2 baristas were super friendly and gave a lot of good recommendations. We will be back next time we are in Tahoe.
