This cute pastry shop is inside a strip mall, parking is easy. Their tea selection for iced teas and bobas is extensive. They also had a large selection of donuts for purchase. I always like to try something a bit different where they have it and here they had a deep fried rolled tortilla. It was not overly sweet but it was still tasty and it had a nice crunchy consistency. If you're not a person who likes over the top sweet this might be the pasty for you. The donut were tasty and so was the tea. The shop was cutely decorated inside and I can't wait to go back to try some more items. read more

Not the best option to stop during our roadtrip but I suppose it could be worse. Nothing tasted fresh, and we also watched them simply microwave the breakfast sandwich- very disappointing. The drinks, although they don't look too horrible in the pictures they have posted in store, were nothing more than straight syrups. So for the price, not worth it. And the service, not much to say. I think they said hi and that was about it. They sort of looked bothered that we took too long to decide on our order. read more

We needed donuts for Thanksgiving morning and this place didn't disappoint. Walked in to fresh donuts with more than plenty of options to pick from. The kiddos loved the fruity pebble donuts and we loved the maple bars. This place reminds me of a traditional donut shop. I went with a classic drip coffee. So I came here for donuts and boba. The boba was a bit chalky for my liking, however the donuts were delicious! The bill was pricey for a half dozen donuts and 3 bobas so not sure I'd come back. The restaurant itself was clean the staff was attentive! read more

Amazing donuts! Not sure why the ratings are so bad ! We stopped by while visiting the in-laws here and they recommended these donuts. They compared them to Randy's donuts and we decided to try it on our way out of town . They are totally worth trying! They were fresh and delicious. read more

Standard donut shop with breakfast sandwiches. I liked how they have a plain cake donut with no glaze. It's a great option if you have a kid that wants a donut but you don't want a sugary mess. I didn't try to boba drinks. They use real eggs for the breakfast sandwich. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place, but it's a solid option if it's along your route. read more

I've been meaning to leave a review. I just want to say the customer service is really poor, not very talkative, all though I had went in there a few months ago and the service was great and she was very friendly. When I went in there it smelt really bad as well lately, I'm pretty sure the other girl working there a few months ago was a red head lol, and I'm not sure if she is still working with you guys but since then I've experienced poor service and have heard from a others as well. When I happen to be in the neighborhood and have a hankering for donuts, you might find me at Kim's. And it's just the place to stop after a work out at the nearby Douglas Community Center gym. :) I have yet to expand my experience to Kim's sandwiches', ice cream and tea. As for the donuts, Kim's has a nice variety of fresh and tasty offerings, although they are a bit more pricey than Carson Donut several miles away. read more

Literally the best doughnuts I've ever had. And I've had a lot of doughnuts since it's a cheap tasty treat! The women working there are always super nice a helpful. The store is always clean but I hardly see people eating in. Try the croissant breakfast if you want a real savory treat! It's a stop I tell all my friends to make and they always thank me for it. These donuts are amazing, particularly the cruellers. They are the only ones I would drive 30 minutes for, cuz I did . You can instantly tell the flavored glazes are made in house. The owner is incredibly sweet. Can't wait to try one of everything! read more

Went here for ice cream, it was either really old or had been thawed and frozen. Both of our flavors had a layer of goop on top. The worker did call her boss and ended up replacing our 2 ice creams with 1 boba. Boba was not fully cooked. We won't be back. They do also offer donuts and sandwiches but we didn't try any. read more

The first time I ever came here was with my crush on our first date, November 19th, 2022. He ordered a soda, and I ordered a kiwi fruit tea. It's been a year now, December 1st will be our first year anniversary, and we plan to celebrate it here. This amazing gem has always had a place in my heart throughout all the times I've came here. Many say the drinks here are too sweet, but to me it's just perfect. I used to order the kiwi boba, however I became a basic person and fell in love with the Thai Boba tea. The lady who takes and makes our orders is the sweetest and we love talking to her. The drinks are VERY quick to come out, I never waited more than 2 minutes to get our drinks and doughnuts. Family wasn't greeted upon coming into the establishment. The donuts were typical, nothing special about them. 16$ for 6 donuts. The tables, chairs, and floor were absolutely filthy, with layers of sticky residue all over them like they haven't been cleaned in days. Very unfortunate due to being the only real donut shop in Gardnerville. read more

I usually stop here on Sundays . I am always greeted by the staff which is pretty good since I am sure they are here early . I am not a morning person so it impresses me. Kim's has the best donuts! I recently tried one of their croissant sandwiches and it was horrible. It was microwaved so the croissant turned to mush and the egg was rubbery. The boba tea is good. The last time I ordered my drink without ice and instead of just charging me more they only filled the cup 2/3 full which was disappointing. I'll definitely be back for the donuts but that's about it at least for now! read more

Pulled in on the way to the Eastside to get a quick breakfast, because I didn't want to have to pull out across traffic if I went to the predictable Starbucks on the other side of the highway. Glad I did! It's great when you aren't expecting much and find something good instead. Kim's has *fantastic* donuts. I had a maple glazed cake that was just excellent, with a fine, crispy shell encasing rich, moist cake and not a hint of the funky fryer oil taint that is so common. I also had a breakfast sandwich that was much more than serviceable, with very tasty dry-cured bacon and an egg served on a rich, warm, buttery croissant. Another thing I loved is that Kim's serves fresh brewed hot tea (that's a little weak, though), instead of tossing a dusty ancient teabag at you, as is standard. My companion and I were split on the ambiance. I thought it was great: a clean, working bakery, stacks of pink boxes and display cases of baked goods, with kind of an ethnic spin provided by the signage styling and emphasis on boba teas. I just went in for a donut and the place stunk like rancid meat. It didn't smell nice like a donut shop should or like one of the hot breakfast sandwiches they make. Rancid. Then I asked the big dumb person behind the counter if they had any vegan donuts. She just stared at me. I said, you know with no dairy. And she said oh I dunno my boss makes them I don't. I said so you don't have an ingredient list or anything? Sometimes there is a label of the ones that are vegan. Nope. My next question is usually which recipe has the least dairy then, but I was getting nowhere. Train your people! They cannot work at a food shop these days without knowing what is IN the food! Allergies, sensitivities, special diets. You can't just play dumb. The I went to wash my hands in the bathroom and came out and she SWEPT DIRT onto my shoe! I was trying to get out the door and said excuse me and she was bent over staring at her broom and didn't see that she was blocking the door and sweeping dirt ON A CUSTOMER. I was so excited that there was a boba place near me! Walking in the place is set up nicely, very welcoming. We came in close to closing and ordered a Thai Tea with boba. The tea was good and the boba was delicious! While waiting there was donut holes left... we decided to give them a try! I am so glad we did as they were delicious . If I could give no stars I would. I walked in the girl working did not even say hello. Then I got my thai tea boba and it tasted rancid. The boba was obviously old because it tasted it like it had been sitting out for hours. I had high hopes for this place. Dont waste your money. read more

Hi could you please put less sugar in your specialty tea drinks and less half and half in your smoothies. The specialty tea drink was very sweet I was expecting a lightly sweeten tea but it was very sweet. The smoothie I got had too much half and half tasted like I ordered straight half and half as a drink other than that this is a great addition to Gardnerville. read more

I checked out this new place a few weeks ago. I am not a bobo tea person but it looked to cute I wanted to go in. I ended up getting a lavender lemonade. It was a bit sweet for me but the owner, (I am assuming) asked how it was before I left. I told her it was delicious but a bit sweet, so she added more tea to it before I left. It has actual lavender in it too! I thought that was most thoughtful of her as she heard me talking about how I didn't want something too sweet when I ordered with the other girl. Portions were generous and the bread is amazing and baked in-house daily. The bakery case is one of many reasons to come back....! Coffee cakes, croissants, cookies, fruit tarts, and packaged loaves were all out and labeled. We bought croissants and cookies to take back to camp and they traveled (and ate) well....! The one real drawback is the building. The bakery and restaurant share a door with C.O.D. Casino next door. When that door opens, cigarette smoke comes into the dining and bakery area. The restroom is also on the casino side. Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. She understood and she gave him a free drink chip. This time we came for lunch he ordered the fish and chips and again the oil is too dark. I ended up giving him half of my pulled pork sandwich, which was really good. But I have to admit my fries weren't that good because the oil needs to be changed!

I was helped by a woman who, from the moment I approached the counter, never looked at me or acknowledged me. She continued talking to a coworker, with her head turned away from me the entire time. At one point, the coworker even came over to show her something on her personal phone, and the conversation continued. She eventually bagged my coffee cake without saying a word, still never making eye contact, and handed it to me. I actually had to lean toward her until she finally looked at me. I said, "Thank you," and walked away. I completely understand that working with the public can be challenging, and everyone has bad days. But this was more than just being having a bad day--it was zero effort to acknowledge or interact with a customer. Schat's is a place I really like, which is why this experience was so disappointing. If you're going to work in a customer-facing position, please make an effort to be courteous, acknowledge your customers, and provide at least the basic level of customer service they deserve.
