So this isn't my first time trying Big Chicken however it's my first time having it at an actual restaurant in past it has only been on a cruise which didn't disappoint but man! Having it in store is wayyyyyyyyyy better! I did the ultimate combo which comes with onion rings and Mac and cheese on the chicken sandwich and man! This combo is undefeated! The combo just goes! This meal is very filling and super fresh while big chicken is fast food it doesn't feel like it while eating it. The flavor and the freshness leaves you wanting nothing! Along with the meal I had a very refreshing watermelon refresher and it balanced being a juice with being a refresher perfectly! I typically can't do to much juice as it's sweet but this refresher was just that refreshing! Typically at fast food restaurants you get young inexperienced workers and it sometimes shows with their lack of customer service skills not this location had the privilege of connecting with two young ladies that helped us decipher the menu and offered recommendations they were very personable and friendly. The restaurant is new and you can tell but it's very nice I can't remember if they had background music going but if not that's the only thing I would add as it is one of those come and go places but some people sit and talk and some nice tunes or a game on could help. I enjoyed this cheat meal at Shaq's Big Chicken. Mac and cheese, fried chicken and onion rings in a sandwich? Sign me up. I ordered two Ultimate meals with fries and a kid's tenders meal. The service was great and friendly at the counter, the girl that took my order offered suggestions and feedback. The dining room could have been wiped down as well as fountain drink station; it was sticky. The dining room was warmer than just being outside and it's been hot! Those were my only take aways from this experience. The sandwich itself was good. My kids enjoyed their food, so that's a win for me. I would be open to trying other items on their menu in the future. It's pricier compared to other fast food chicken dining options in the area, but we'll give it another try next time we're in Minden. read more

Driving by the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The place is still new and looks that way. They have different chicken options on the menu. I ordered the combo -#1 which is a chicken sandwich with their signature sauce. The food came out a few minutes later -- which I don't mind because I know it's fresher. The sandwich was good and the sauce as well--but wouldn't say it's mind blowing that I have to go again right away. Chicken Quality is inconsistent. Sometimes it is really good, other times it is over-cooked and dry. Service is also terrible. I think we have been 5 times and 4 of those times they have gotten our order wrong, the usual fail is they don't give us the cheese for the cheese fries and they forgot to include at least 1 order (we typcially order for 4 people). read more

Very poor service. The place was not busy, we walked right in and order. Two men behind us ordered 4 milkshakes. We saw our order be placed in the window. The server walked by it several times. Then started making the milkshakes. We waited patiently for over ten minutes, before my wife walked to politely ask. The server was within arms length of our food and away from the shakes, looked at the food then turned back to say I'll be with you in a minute. After giving us our now cold food, the cook came frame the back and they all looked over giggling and seemed to be enjoying and laughing at how they handled it. Very tacky. read more

It appears the place is run by children. I places several orders the past week every order was wrong. The food was good however expensive and always had something wrong. It could be a wrong food count, a missing drink or part of a meal or a completely different thing than what I asked and paid for. Certain staff are very impatient as well. Newly opened "fast food" restaurant in Minden. Although it's not really fast food. After a bad experience with its Next-Door Neighbor Firehouse subs I was hesitant to try Big Chicken. A few months back I ordered a chicken sandwich at Firehouse subs. What I received for over $13 was a 7 inch long roll with a few pieces of chicken along with some type of sauce. Nothing else. Well a friend told me that big chicken was very good but pricey. So last night my wife and I went through the Big chicken drive-through. My wife ordered a simple chicken sandwich with no sides and I ordered a full chicken dinner. My wife's chicken sandwich was $6 dollars and my full chicken dinner was $14. I must say the flavor was outstanding and the quantities were huge. The young lady that helped us was also very personable and professional. We were the only car there and I noticed we had to wait what seemed like 15 minutes to receive our order. I mentioned to the young lady that I had never been to a Big chicken before and it seemed like it took a while for our meal. She indicated that everything is made from scratch when you order. I can attest to the fact that based upon the freshness and flavors 15 minutes is well worth the wait as sure enough everything is cooked to order when you order it. Well the $6 sandwich that my wife received from big chicken had more chicken and other ingredients in it and was the same size as the one that I paid $13 for at the Firehouse Subs next door. My $14 dinner meal was so huge I could not eat it in one sitting. We will definitely be back to Big Chicken, unlike firehouse subs which was way overpriced and less flavorful for what we received compared to Big Chicken. My friend was incorrect regarding Big chicken being pricey. Big chicken serves up a large very tasty meal that is a tremendous value compared to other dining establishments in the area. read more

We Accidentally came while they were training/doing a soft opening but the staff was nice enough to let us order and they didn't disappoint. The girl at the register was very helpful with helping me build a more plain sandwich for my wife and choosing different sides to try more options. All the sandwiches we ordered were big, juicy and full of flavor. I would definitely go back. All the staff was friendly and the whole restaurant felt clean and nice. We gave it 2 chances because sometimes every restaurant has a bad day. Waited a month after the first try. This time we both ordered the basic chicken sandwich, i came to the table in a few seconds! Mmmm that's strange. No doubt this was a reheated slab of the worst chicken i've had. Obviously cooked previously. Hint, Chicken sucks this way! Batter was way too thick and almost burnt. Chicken was rubber like, gross. On the good side the shake was very tasty, ( should have ordered with no whip) Never really understood the need is the shake is great. Fries tasted good. Had a few nice fries on top and 1/2 way down was tiny fry pieces, they definitely know they are hiding the mini fries with good pieces on top to fool us. The place is really clean and the employees at the counter are friendly and attentive. Wish it was better but it's not even close to the quality we expected with Shaq's name on it. I'll be surprised it survives unless they produce a product like or better than CFA and others. I'l give it another try in 6 months as i like to support our local businesses. Had to try Shaq's new restaurant, and I'm so glad I did. My chicken sandwich, the Ultimate, was very good. Besides the delicious, moist chicken, you get a great tasting mac&chz on the Ultimate. What a combo! Along with the sandwich, I ordered jalapeño slaw and chicken fingers . The slaw was good, but a bit too much onion. The chicken fingers were the best I've ever had. I've heard people are balking at the price, but I didn't think it was any more than a big burger down the street. The people were nice and service was great. Try it and see for yourself. read more

I ordered through the drive-thru and ate in the parking lot. The fries were cold and the chicken was overcooked; one end was close to charred rather than evenly fried. The only reason I tried this was because I'm from L.A. and knew Shaq owned the chain. Maybe they were having an off day? I'll go back eventually, but probably not for at least 6+ months. Have had it 4 times since they opened first time was excellent fresh great taste for everything ordered. However the last 3 times it's been not good fries not fresh hard and not edible. Ordered missing food one of the times double check your order. And the chicken was great 2 of the times the other 2 it was over breaded and not seasoned the same. Ordered from drive thru. I had a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. The building was nice and maintained I believe just about brand new. The drive through lane was big enough for my large truck so that was a good design. Now for the food. The sandwich as literally dripping with grease. It was difficult to eat on that same note the sandwich was cold. The fries were cold and stale didn't really want another bit after the first two attempts. The service was ok I tried getting another sandwich and fries but they said it would take 15 min and I didn't have time to wait so I was stuck with what I had. I'll give them credit they did try to replace the meal. I'm a bit disappointed that for the amount of money they want for fast food the quality is not there it's worse and the competitor across the street and they have the similar meal for half the price. I think I'll wait and see if they improve before trying again since the cost is so high. read more
