Every time I stumble in here rather than the Peets down the street, I feel as though, simply by exposure to the customer service, I have lost 4 IQ points. I think middle schoolers assigned to work behind the counter in their cafeteria could give more attentive and efficient customer service than the swarm of loud, self-amused buffoons behind the counter here. I'm going to start this review off by saying Starbucks is my life. I went to this one after I did some grocery shopping at Trader Joes. I ordered my Venti Light Peppermint Mocha Frap with Soy Milk. They made a mistake and gave me an iced one with regular milk. That's okay. I let them know that it was supposed to be blended. The lady said okay and left my drink j chillin and proceeded to work on other people's drinks. I kept waiting and she finally grabbed it and put it on the back counter and then asked another employee to make one. They talked a bit and she made the drink really slow. At this point I was like ok I've been standing here for 10 min now waiting. I finally got the drink still with reg milk but I didn't feel like asking for soy and waiting another 10 min. She gave me the drink way to filled and overflowing and walked away without saying a word. Ruuuuude. read more

I came here a couple of months ago and was quite disappointed. I ordered one drink (a very simple iced coffee) and waited and waited and waited... Three people in line behind me got their drinks before me. The employees were talking a lot to each other and joking around.. One of the girls finally noticed an empty cup (for my iced coffee) on her counter "what is those for, it's been sitting here a while." Very disappointed. Will be taking my business to Peet's down the street from now on. I work across the street so this Starbucks will losing a lot of business since I also refer my clients to coffee/food places on the street. read more

I always get the marble loaf bread without the frosting everyday and any Starbucks that I go to, they always warm it up for me after taking the frosting out. Maybe it was a bad idea to get a drink near closing time but I think regardless of the time of day the Barista and fellow staff should do their job right. Well I came in on a Thursday night 15 minutes before closing time; I ordered a Chai Tea Latte, no foam no water. And yes it is somewhat being a prick asking for no foam and no water but why not get the bang for the buck, right? Well the young guy calls my name out that my drink was done and I swear it only took like 2 minutes to make. I was somewhat suspicious in the first place, but I thought what the heck this guy must be good at what he does. Right when I started to drink it, I slurped up a crap load of foam. This was the first time I ever experienced this; for the most part I've never had a bad drink from Starbucks. So I told him about the foam and emphasized that I specifically said "no foam, no water". So he let his manager know. What was stupid was that the manager (don't know her name but she looked like a middle aged witch with warts on her face) asked me "do you want me just to add more steamed milk?" Come on now, it's not rocket science! If you add more milk, doesn't that dilute the Chai content? Duh! If I wanted to have warm milk I wouldn't have asked for a darn Chai Tea Latte? I just gave her a blank stare and then she said she'll just make a whole new drink. To top off the worst experience ever, my drink didn't taste like a Chai Latte! I'm here so often that I felt compelled to leave a review even though it is just one of the millions of Starbucks out there. Since I work from home, sometimes this cafe doubles as my second office. It's small enough that the wifi/internet connection is quite fast since you're not sharing with thirty other people. However, don't plan on finding a seat if you come after school hours since the place fills up with students. In the mornings, this tends to be a hangout for the retiree crowd. read more

However, it tends to be packed with a disproportionate number of rude customers, and every time I have been here there have been multiple people smoking at the outdoor tables and along the side of the store. If you need to grab standard Starbucks drinks and go, you'll have no problem, this is your place. I normally go here in the evenings. I must say that the service here in the evening (around 7pm) is terrible. I am writing this review after numerous times of being treated poorly by the rude barista. I went in with a $2 treat receipt. The lady told me that I cannot use the receipt. I ask her how come and she said (with an attitude) "because the drink on the receipt must be purchased before 2pm." I looked at the receipt and it said 13:25. If I am not mistaken, I am pretty sure that means 1:25pm, which is before 2pm. I showed her the receipt, and she went "Ughhh!" and rudely re-did my transaction. She did not even bother apologizing. When she made my drink, the cup was only 3/4 full. Another incident occurred at around the same time. I used my re-usable Starbucks Cold Cup tumbler for my drink. Normally, Starbucks gives me $.10 back for bringing in a reusable cup. I asked the lady if she took $.10 off of my drink and she said "No, because we do not offer that anymore." This customer in line next to me said he just received $.10 off today for bringing in a reusable cup at another Starbucks. I asked the lady barista again, and she shouted at me "It's only ten cents! geez!" From that point, I just took my drink and walked out. 1) I understand that it is only ten cents, but I paid for that tumbler that cost me $14.95. 2) It was very rude of her to yell at customers like that. Sorry for my first review to be a negative one but this starbucks represents what's wrong with society today. Don't get me wrong but the baristas here are very nice. It's the management I have a problem with. I've been here where the baristas were instructed not to give any ice water to their customers even with purchases. I've never seen that in a Starbucks before. They've put a fake bathroom out of order sign during every Millbrae Art festival. I asked for a refill of my coffee and they asked me if I've been here with the last 30 mins. I told them within 1 hr and they refused me a refill. Never seen that at any other Starbucks. Which leads me to the conclusion that the manager/owner is extremely cheap and is bottom line driven. Try the starbucks in San Bruno (Cherry Ave.) or Burlingame (El camino). read more

I've walked by hundreds of times when night or day, they're slammed, folks streaming outside, table and chairs front and back, inside crammed and noise deafening, impossible to carry on a conversation . . . we entered late on a Friday night, looking specifically for a hazelnut light roast preferably decaf whole bean. We walk in stand at the register, nobody steps up, and so we stand some more looking around, nobody to help. No joke: we're there for a couple of minutes, before someone notices us and almost as an afterthought, saunters over. We explain what we wanted, she shakes her head and says, "We don't have that." Flat and resolute her tone, no nonsense. Hmm, I'm not easily deterred and ask, "Do you have anything close to that?" She's certain, "Nope." Not one to give up, I ask again, "What about some other flavored coffee?" She shakes her head and points across the street to the Safeway, says "Go there and they have a whole row of it." What?? I'm coming to a barista at a dedicated coffee shop, the temple of franchise chains, and she points me to Safeway? I must admit I was a bit amused at the absurdity of the situation, especially because she did not seem to m=want to help us at all, and seemed intent on getting us out of there, which was sort of sad and comical because there were no other customers in the shop! She likely wanted to get back to her sweeping the floor, which I don't blame her for . . . who doesn't want to go home on a Friday night? I'm giving it more than a one star because she was not overtly hostile, but just sort of checked out . . . despite my not getting what I wanted and the indifferent customer service, I appreciate this shop offering folks a place to meet, gather, teens and the elderly gathering, always a good thing. read more

This was my first time here and Andrew was our cashier. He acted as if he had a goldfish and it died. He was rude and impersonal. Usually Starbucks workers are nice and friendly but this guy was NOT. I asked about their ADVERTISED $3 deal for grande fraps after 2pm. It is literally advertised on the board. Keep in mind that it was 6pm when I was ordering. He said I wouldn't be able to use the deal because "it's only from 3-5 or something like that." That's exactly how he said it. So, I just ordered my normal tall frapp which was $4.65. Now, to make the whole story short.. He was wrong. The deal was anytime after 2pm and when I tried to tell the barista if he could make my drink a grande, he had to confirm with Andrew that we paid for a grande. I explained to the barista ( I didn't get his name but he was very nice) about how I tried to get the deal but Andrew said I wasn't able to. Andrew was basically really rude about it, disregarding what I was trying to explain to him. He didn't care to listen to the customer and never even made any eye contact. The barista ended up making me my grande frapp but after I had to make such a big deal out of it, which I hated doing. And I didn't even get the $3 deal, which caused me to lose money. Now, I would hate for Andrew to lose his job over this, but he definitely needs to come to work more prepared and with a better attitude. Very unfortunate to have one stinking fish....Cidney (I believe her name is). What an unprofessional barrista! I have been the customer for so many years and have seen many faces come and go but have never encounter such unprofessional barrista before. She has no manners and no customer service skills. I thought it was just me but then I noticed she was taking orders without writing names on the cups which makes difficult for people who were making drinks. While talking to other customers I felt the feeling of her unprofessionalism is unanimous. I just cannot understand how and company like Starbucks can hire and continue to support employees like her. This particular Starbucks has always been so welcoming, clean, professional and full of life. I love to come here but I am afraid that employees like Cidney will chase the customers away. I wish the upper Management would read this and take this seriously. The barista called Alla is extremely rude. When I tried to use the holiday beverage reward, the guy on the register tried to help n get me a tea. But she just cu in and tried every way to make me not getting s tea. come on. It's just a tea, is it that hard to get it to a customer. and then she started giving me attitude-- ignore my drink, did it at the last and made faces. Also, she made my drink wrong---when I asked for a short in a tall clover coffee. She made me a grande one and I told her I cannot finished it. She gave me a shitty look and refuse to remake my drink and just pulled in a short cup. You suppose to made me a new one because the bean portion of a short is different then a short, and she told me that's the same. So nasty. I never know clover coffee can be made so disgusting. I just experienced the worst Starbucks customer service ever. The employees in this place has total lack of respect, service, and awareness of their rudeness. So incompetent and can't believe this is a part of Starbucks chain. Not taking my order in the first time, I had to ask twice to get my frapp, and the cup was all dirtied because it was just sitting on the shelf top-less for some time and whipcream was drooping all over my cup, so I asked to be cleaned up, and the employee just tosses it like it's all cool without any word on apology. Service sucks! I ordered for Mango Dragon Fruit large size. The lady gave me the small one and when I told her I paid for the bigger size, she got upset and just grabbed the cup from me didnt even bother to apologize for the mistake. When she gave me the right size, she just extra juice and the taste was aweful. So I asked her to do it again. Then she made another one but still very pale and add too much ice in it. Then the other guy came and said I should ask to put more juice in it. I always order this item and I know the taste and the content. It was pale juice all sweetener and too much ice even I ordered for light ice. Nobody bothered to say I am sorry we will correct it. All three staff get upset with me when I politely ask to just refund me my money because it was not how I expected it to made. These people should learn more customer service skills and learn to appreciate customers feedback. I am not happy. I will buy somewhere else. read more

Excellent service, excellent workers. They always go out of their way to ensure a customer leaves and returns happy. I would like to expecially point out the hardest workers as follows--Ryan( electric, hilarious, hard working ), Tyler (funny, caring, handsome ), A girl who is I believe Tongan names OhLa who is really considerate when my drink was not made correct was able to remake it to my preference. I woul like to also say the newest hires are hard working and will slowly but surely get the hang of regular customers and their demands. This starbucks I would recommend over any in the district. All others show no professionalism, blast profane music and could care less of their customers.
