In fact, this Portland-based coffeeshop has expanded to almost 150 locations in the U.S. in almost twenty years. Black Rock Coffee offers a variety of drink options like drip coffee, mocha, espresso drinks and hot tea. I like that even though they are a big chain now, they still do their best to connect to the local community. Black Rock Coffee Bar usually offers a free drink during grand opening of every location that they open. Black Rock Coffee Bar has both walk-up and drive-thru service. I usually get an Iced Latte, but I sometimes I will grab one of their creations from time-to-time. The Irish Coffee, Mexican Mocha and Caramel Truffle are a few favorites of mine. When I went there was no speaker for ordering, all ordering is done right at the cashier window. The menu has all your typical coffee drinks, energy drinks, smoothies and baked goods. I opted for the horchata mocha and since muffins were half off that day I got a blueberry muffin. The total was a little over $8 with tax. The horchata mocha was good overall. The coffee was smooth and the sweetness level was good. I didn't taste too much horchata though. It was more like your typical mocha. The muffin was Noble brand, with a soft crumb, also a good sweetness level. Service was friendly and fast. They have a punch card too where your 11th drink is free.
