Are they actually getting coffee beans out of Yemen right now? The menu didn't really feature Turkish Style Coffee as the forward offering. The employees were not rude or anything, but they, they were slow at making coffee. They also didn't know how to make coffee either. Pulling and espresso shot is easy, pouring a latte is not. and Moka & Co brewed a Cortado that was clearly just an espresso shot with some steamed milk glopped on top...which I've had that happen before at places that only have paper cups. BUT if you care about brewing coffee, you will pour a microfoam head in paper just as you would in ceramic. What's worse is that the coffee just tasted like dirt, if this is Yemeni coffee, it's bad. Seemed like there was potential here, but it was a waste of a morning when there are so many great coffee places in the core, we just need more of them in the East Valley. Unfortunately Moka & Co is just marketing and not a quality coffee shop.

I had reward points so I was able to get it for free today. The place was sunny, fairly quiet, so I could hear my friend. The coffee was delicious as usual. I am never disappointed when I frequent this coffee shop. I was looking at the menu and they now serve small meals for breakfast. I have celiac disease so I can't eat anything that was on the menu, but I do like that they offer something for those who might want something to eat with their drink. This establishment is very clean, sunny and inviting. I will definitely be back. I don't see my friend that often but when we do get together, we always have coffee at Pura Vida Grinds. A couple of days ago, I was told by an employee that my drink was being made, only to stand there for another five minutes while no one actually made it. Another employee eventually asked if I had been helped and said, "I'll make it now." At that point, I was pretty confused about what had been happening. There is also frequently no one at the register. I've seen a line form with multiple customers waiting while no one is taking orders, and this has happened on more than one occasion. Honestly, it doesn't seem like there is much direction or organization among the staff. It feels like everyone is just being told to "make drinks," but sometimes they appear to be making more drinks than there are customers in the drive-thru or inside the shop. We have officially decided to stop going to this location, which is honestly sad because we live nearby and would much rather come here for the convenience, especially when we're heading out of the house. (ironically, the Starbucks in this same strip mall consistently has the BEST customer service of any Starbucks in AZ imho.)
