Lots of reasons to like and hate Starbucks. My reason for hate today is for the second time I asked for just water. I drop hundreds of dollars at The Bucks. The first time I was under thirsty duress so I succumbed to this "Karen's" demand that I had to buy something to get a free water. She told me I had to have my receipt from any store for the same day. Then a month later, the same "Karen" demanded to see my receipt to make sure it was from " the same day." "Karen" proceeded to tell me it was their corporate policy that the receipt while it was the same day, "had to be from the same store." Cheap biscuits or sons of fatherless children. I've been coming to this location for 8 years and Starbucks itself since 2004 and I've seen wonderful managers come and go to this once fabulous spot. My experience this week has ended forever my patronage of this location due to the absolutely horrific management. I am autistic and I went in to claim a comped drink order at the register that I was told was still redeemable at any time. I spoke to the manager on the phone a few days earlier who at the time was very nice and I explained what was wrong with my drink and she told me to come in at any time to redeem it. And when I came in to the store and tried to explain the situation politely she was hostile, dismissive, and I believe was targeting me due to my disability. I had also tripped on my way in to the store so she could have already made up her mind to target me intentionally. After telling her that I had spoken to a manager previously she rudely said "alright fine I'll make your drink just this once but don't let it happen again." I left the store and proceeded to cry in the parking lot but not before calling corporate and explaining how I was humiliated in my local store. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with the manager, Tiffany. She was extremely rude and dismissive when I tried to address an issue with my drink. As someone who also works in customer service, I would never speak to a client the way she spoke to me. If this is how customers are treated, she should not be working in a customer-facing position. I have contacted Starbucks corporate to file a complaint. Her only position working at Starbucks should be taking out the trash, even that's a bit much for her. read more

This is a great Starbucks. It's in the same parking lot as Gelson's so there's plenty of easy free parking. Huge plus. It has a modern feel. Nice layout. Super nice staff. Hey, it's a Starbucks, so you already know what they have, but this is a good one. There is plenty of seating indoors and out, clean, nice staff. Love it! It closes at 8:00 PM. What really makes this location great is the amazing staff! They are really nice and do a great job of getting drinks out quickly. Pretty stylish warm earthy tones Starbucks with a friendly crew of Baristas, Shift Leads and Managers. This location stays busy in the Gelsons shopping plaza off Van Nuys Blvd and Milbank St, but has tons of room to spread out including high, long and low tables, a lounge area near the front and some outdoor seating as well. If you order online your drink can get buried among the masses so definitely check the labels. Parking is pretty easy in a huge shared lot... Not a Drive Thru location, but great health and safety practices in place not to mention that classic free Wi-Fi. read more

Pretty big location, modern decor, not the cleanest and with no outdoor seating. There's a big, buys parking lot near by! This location is a tad too busy for me especially during Covid or maybe I'm not used to Starbucks since we didn't visit a location in about a year or so. We needed to kill some time in this shopping here recently and my husband wanted to get us some refreshing Peach/Green Iced Tea he got in a downtown location a couple of weeks ago that we enjoyed. At the register we were asked if we want syrup in it. Too many questions nowadays, too many decisions! It's a chain, how about making it the same way everywhere? We mentioned we had one recently and they said they changed it and they make it with no syrup. We got it without syrup. Paid, got it, tried it and it was bitter and tasted like green tea too much! We went back and asked for the syrup, they have us a tad in a cup, we mixed it, still it didn't taste nearly as good as the SAME tea we got in downtown at Starbuck! Still bitter, too much green tea, not enough peach. It lacked that nice peach flavor, light and refreshing! I didn't love the customer service either, if you have to DYI then why do I go out and pay for things? This experience will keep me away from this chain for a long time now since they can't get it together to make their tea the same way everywhere! read more

What Can you improve? Attitude... I met a friend to have a coffee... we were deciding what to get, he got a call and we stoped talking about it... I needed to go to the restroom and when I asked for the code for the door the African American barista asked me if I already purchase something... so I asked, until place my order I can't use the bathroom... really? I totally understand that they do this because the homeless situation; they come and basically take "showers" in there... I get it... but to act that way with every single person is disgusting... it talks so bad about Starbucks in general... it's like until you don't pay me something you are nothing... really? I find it very harsh, as harsh as their coffee... she could ask if I was planning on order something or if I was meeting with someone... normally if you are meeting someone you wait for that person before you place your order... it's not my fault that she feels abused by Starbucks because she has to clean the bathroom... and as I said I totally understand the homeless abuse of the bathrooms situation but don't treat everyone with the same rule... I usually don't review Starbucks locations. The experience I had here this morning just blew me away. First off, the store is ready for the Holidays. The decorations the associates wearing festive attire. The service was excellent despite them being super busy. They were calling out customer names that were next to get their drinks prepped, which I thought was super interesting. Makes the wait that more acceptable. They were just cranking out orders and everyone was working as a team and looked genuinely happy. This was at 8am, during peak business. I just want to recognize the leadership team here. Did a phone order since I was in the area. I saw my butter croissant and picked it up and keep waiting for my coffee and not realizing that my coffee was sitting there. It was made wrong and I didn't see it cause it was black coffee which I never order. I told the guy that my coffee needed cream and it was made wrong, he read the label and said "oh yeah". He was kinda hesitant to remake it but I guess he saw me starring at him and finally decided to remake it. He made it and I always ask for light ice and he put literally 5 cubes of ice, I took a sip and it tasted so horrible so I had to dump 1/3 of my cup in the trash and ask him to more ice. I haven't made any orders here yet but stopped by a few times with my group from class to study and work on assignments. The sole reason I won't ever support this location is the service, and especially the service within the 1 hour prior to closing. Let me provide a little background on myself - I have worked in numerous fast food restaurants over the years. I know when and how it is appropriate to clean and wrap up the end of the day. I NEVER yell across the restaurant, never become obnoxious, and never act as a rude idiot. Because that's exactly what these hooligans do at this location for the full hour prior to closing. 3-4 employees run around the store throwing trash cans around, loudly sweeping and banging the broom against the walls, dragging heavy objects causing screeching sounds, and yelling a countdown "STARBUCKS CUSTOMERS WE CLOSE IN 45 MINUTES . . . IN 30 MINUTES . . . IN 20 MINUTES . . . " and so on. Plus the lights going dim 20 minutes prior to closing, and bathrooms closing half an hour prior to closing. I don't know who the manager or specifically the night manager is, but if that's how they train these kids to work, Starbucks needs to really look into this. If there is no manager, then there needs to be one. read more
