I am a frequent patron of Starbucks. The Starbucks inside Ralph's in Sherman Oaks has my fav barista, Shayne. He always greets customers with a smile. This is one of the better Starbucks locations I've visited! It has a wonderful outdoor seating area with plenty of shade and nice tables. Even though it's off a busy boulevard, the atmosphere outside feels surprisingly calm with plenty to look at. The staff were very friendly, and the interior was spotless. I enjoyed a Strawberry Açaí Lemonade Refresher and was even able to get a free Green Iced Tea refill afterward! They also kindly filled my personal cup with fresh ice water. Here comes the Keep It Real Guy so lets get after it! When Dilbert the previous Manager I would have went with 5 stars. I prefer the Encino location better next to CVS. with a large patio. This location with some employees lacks warmth, they make the coffee, serve it, but some you need to take their pulse to make sure their is a hear beat! Now some are excellent some of the male employees professional, warm and great customer service! I can see some very poor reviews I cant comment, but this is my review. We were helping our son move and we visited the Starbucks on the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Allot In Sherman Oaks...13535 Ventura Blvd. It's a great location with super nice outdoor seating. We walked their every morning for a week and the Barista Jenni was so kind, friendly and just patient. She smiled and was super outgoing!!!! She took our order 5 days in a row and was the sweetest. Excellent customer service. Shout out to her and the store manager Ben!!! I called to compliment her to the Ben and he remembered me from our conversation about helping our son move. This was my first visit to the Starbucks. They seem to be out of every pastry that I asked for even though they were in the case the manager just kept telling the employee no no no and then finally the employee asked me if I want one in the case, yes please . So I get my coffee. I get a caramel macchiato on ice and I'm driving so I wanted it mixed up. So I asked I think it was a manager if he could mix it up for me and he said OK but just so you know next time this is how the caramel macchiato is prepared.. scolded me a coffee is made. It should be made however I request it to be made. What a jerk I will never visit this one again. It just seems like he did not want me there. There was an actual black hair in my cake pop. Not like on top, it was fully in the cake pop that I had to pull it out. I've been going to this Starbucks for over 10 years and I've never dealt with this. Part of the cake was also coming out, you can see in the pictures. I've never felt so disrespected at a Starbucks before. I stopped by the Sherman Oaks location before my hair appointment next door, as I always do, intending to grab a coffee. When I arrived, I urgently needed to use the restroom after driving in from Redondo Beach. I went in, saw that a code was required, and politely asked the barista (Claudia) for it. Instead of simply giving me the code, she looked me up and down and demanded to know if I was going to buy something. I told her yes, I was. But rather than taking my word for it, she refused to give me the code until I placed an order first. I was shocked. Starbucks is supposed to be a welcoming place, yet I was treated with suspicion and condescension for no reason. I ended up ordering on my phone right in front of her just to prove I was a paying customer before she would let me use the restroom. The whole experience was humiliating and unnecessary. I don't know if she just wanted to power-trip or was having a bad day, but it was unacceptable. Starbucks, do better with your customer service--this was ridiculous. read more

We all know I don't love this coffee chain but I've been spending money and consuming them like I do ;) I've been on a serious kick with their speciality drinks. I love their seasonal cold brews with cream, although I've perfected an at home version - I still love coming over for theirs too. I love the blonde espresso drinks as well. I visit this location several times a week for my afternoon coffee. The staff are really what make this location 5 star! I'd give the coffee drinks 4 stars but the crew here are generally very solid. They are all really nice, helpful, friendly and welcoming. I really love this location and they've come through for me on some really important (marathon) mornings over the course of all the years I've lived around the corner, due to their bright and early hours. If you're going to give this corporate giant business, this location is great! I like to frequent smaller businesses and toss them in, so I feel like I'm supporting both! An absolute clown show. You ask for a number to customer service to deal with a glitch on the app, and the "store manager" literally pulls out his phone and voice prompts google for the instructions. To look someone in the eye while you google a phone number doesn't sent the message to customers you think it does. It tells the world you're useless and can be replaced by google. Luckily I have to walk by no less than 5 other coffee shops to get to this dump so there's no shortage of options. The app and ease of ordering was the only thing keeping folks latched on. Placed an order for coffee travelers with Nadia, she said I didn't need to put down a card and I would be able to pick up without a problem and pay at the time of pick up. Just be sure to get your validation as to not be charged. Street parking IS available, but limited due to the hustle and bustle of Ventura Boulevard. Other than that, great service and selection. There are several things that make this Starbucks better than some other locations, they are as follows: The first thing is that this location has ample seating. There's not A TON of seating inside, but there is more than at your "average" Starbucks. And there's more than enough seating outdoors on the patio. So, bring a sweatshirt in the cooler months and enjoy sitting outside. All of the patio seating is covered with umbrellas so you should have some shade. The next thing that makes this location stand out is that there is a parking lot off of Allot, and Ventura that you can park in. Parking is free for 90 minutes (I think) with validation. Now, it is a shared lot, so you will have to contend with Subway, Blazing Saddles, and The Shipping Store parking, but you should usually be able to find a spot. And if for some reason you can't, you should be able to find a spot on the street within less than a block. There's nothing more frustrating than agreeing to meet someone for coffee, and then having to circle the block twelve times trying to find parking. Shouldn't be a problem here. There's a lot of space inside. This shop just has MORE SPACE than other Starbucks locations. So if you're waiting in line you're not going to be standing right next to someone trying to have a conversation. And there's actually enough space for the line itself. If I go to Starbucks in Sherman Oaks/Studio City, I prefer to go to this location. read more

Extremely disappointed with JESSI, the store manager. Starbucks has dug their own grave with taking on massive amounts of mobile orders and neglecting in person customers. After they forgot my order for more than 20 minutes and only gave me my bakery item, Jessi ignored me when I asked about the rest of my order. When he finally told me he would finish the order he told me I would have to wait because there are too many orders - even though I had ordered 30 minutes prior at this point. He continued working on mobile orders and only until I told him what he was doing wasn't right did he start making my coffee. JESSI is extremely unprofessional and is extremely incompetent to be working and managing a retail business like Starbucks. Starbucks really needs to overhaul management and organization across all stores but they really need to start with replacing Jessi at the NoHo location! read more

I don't often get coffee from Starbucks, but I decided to indulge myself on Friday. I had last consumed a meal out on Sunday with no problems. I ordered a latte using the Starbucks app and was appalled to find they had added a big "tip" button. I chose not to tip; it was a simple order and s simple pick up. I picked up the latte and walked home to have it with lunch. About 15 minutes after taking my first sip, I started vomiting, for several hours. I ended up in the hospital Sunday night, and exhibited e coli symptoms mid-Monday morning, so I had e coli and septicemia. These are the facts. Draw your own conclusions. There are many Starbucks out there. This is 1 of the good ones. Very chill, relaxed vibe. The outside patio is nice, with around 8-10 tables that have umbrellas. 2 hour street parking in the residential areas, otherwise meters on Ventura. There is a open parking lot behind Starbucks to the north. I've seen the gate open most of the time I've been there. But I honestly don't know who manages that parking lot, or if the gate ever comes down and then you have to pay? It's a risk, but I definitely need to do more research. Hello all, I have passed this Starbucks multiple times and I always see it very calm. I finally stopped in and was very happy. I had done a mobile order for an iced English latte but the barista told me that they ran out. They gladly gave me an alternative and I got a bigger size. The place is overall very clean and quiet. Unlike other Starbucks locations on Ventura this is one is very good to go to if you want a quiet place to work and they have ample space inside and outside. Starbucks discriminates. This location is huge on that. I had a situation there and the manager didn't do anything to fix it. She is an example of poor leadership. The District Manager is no different either. If you go to this Starbucks just be very careful, they discriminate paying customers over their employees when the customer has done nothing wrong. I would suggest that the manager of this store be demoted as she has no management skills. She goes pass her boundaries and "speaks" to paying customers on situations that have nothing to do with her. Most Starbucks are very much the same but this location really is quite the exception. The line moves quickly and the coffee comes out quickly. The real standout, however, is the employees! Jenni and Gian immediately put a smile on your face and even remember my name and my order which makes me feel welcome and also keeps me coming back. I like this Starbucks a lot. They are located right off Ventura blvd and they have outside seating like most Starbucks. They have a good amount of seating inside as well. I go here a lot because they are right next store to my spinning place Blazing Saddles. The parking on the street is not so great but the cool thing is they have a free parking lot out back behind the alley so parking isn't a problem. The staff inside are always pleasant and nice and never once have I had a problem here. They always have my green juices in stock and breakfast spinach wraps. The lines can get long sometimes but I feel like they move fast and I'm never waiting too long. I will happily keep coming back here! read more
