At this stage in life I have officially moved into minimalist, simplicity and no frills no thrills vibes in certain day to day regards in life. Such as coffee. I tried BB ages ago when they first opened in Santa Monica bc I wanted to understand the hype. Had a coffee and was like meh, I don't get it. THEN FF to this year and I was searching for instant coffees that are low acid and good health wise and for those with gerd issues. Perplexity for the win as it recommended BB Instant Espresso. In hooked! I'm normally allergic to intense caffeine and my ankles swell with most coffees. Even the OG kind from places like my families home country. But the instant coffee has been a complete WIN! Today I visited the location near my gym. I finished working out and said let me see if they have a BB close by and boom they did! This location was perfect for me! I LOVE Mendocino Farms so if I come at lunch or dinner time I'll be able to get my fav meal. And next time I need groceries I can workout, get my coffee and grocery shop all in one yay! Service was great! Parking was easy on a Weds at 10am. About four tables outside for groups of 2-4 to relax. Individual seating for 2-3 inside. Small venue so get what you need and carry on! Also love that they sell the Pressed Chocolate Protein Smoothie as I love to get two shots of espresso on ice and use this as a mixer. Win win win for me! Blue Bottle has more locations spread out and the hype is huge! I tried the Studio City location because I was in the area for errands. Otherwise, parking is terrible and I wouldn't come just for it. The pastry selection wasn't great when I got there past lunch, so I chose to skip it. I got a latte, which was fine, nothing special comparing to other coffee shops! I'm a blue bottle fan. Been to this one and the one on Fairfax (I believe). This one has a less "come hang out at a third space" vibe and a more grab it on the go vibe. Which has a lot to do with the location. Food 4.5/5 I'm a big fan of their coffee. Full disclosure, I am a coffee purist and drink black hot and iced coffee. Sometimes with a little milk. Seldom anything sweet. So I can't vouch for their sweet drinks, but an iced decaf americano or iced latte tastes really good here. They are very precise with their measurements, have their own beans and blends etc. I'd say they sit at the upper end of chain coffee stores for quality. With that comes the prices. Not as expensive as a bespoke shop these days, but not as cheap as Starbucks. In general the cost of coffee has gone up astronomically. So expect to pay 5-7 bucks for a coffee here. Service 5/5 Staff is nice and efficient. Knowledgeable about coffee orders. Pretty quick given the location and amount of foot traffic they get. The lady who I see there often who takes my order and makes my coffee is super friendly. Almost like the old days when people were nice and service was what matters. Ambiance 3/5 Here's where there's a bit of a struggle. The store itself is fine. Minimal. A few stools. Clean. It's NOT designed for hanging out. There's a front porch area but this is in the Trader Joe's/nexus of studio city parking lot across from CBS Radcliffe. I can't blame blue bottle for the world's most insane parking lot. But it is what it is. This location is designed for people shopping in other areas, going to the gym next door, or working at CBS. It's not really for just going to to hang out. They know that, which is why the focus is on coffee service not ambiance and hanging out. If I have once piece of advise it's to slip out the back of the parking lot towards laurel canyon. And/or the parking garage next door has subterranean parking (laurel canyon and Ventura, with the planet fitness). Technically you're supposed to go to that mall to park there, but people don't check. Or even park across the street behind cvs. Get some steps in and avoid getting trapped at a Trader Joe's parking lot for 15 min. read more

Ordered an iced latte and it compared pretty on par with most other coffee shops around. Perhaps a bit more bitter than I normally like. I'd try their New Orleans cold brew next time instead. But price is again same as other shops around averaging about $8 for a medium latte. read more

This location in Studio City has been my staple coffee shop every morning for my commute from South Bay to Studio City before going in to work at the Radford Studio. When my contracted ended for work, one thing I missed the most is this coffee shop. Sweet Latte, and Latte is my usual order. The entrance to the plaza is not the most accessible when there is a truck; moreover, the parking spots in front of Blue Bottle... highly recommend against it, as it will take a while before you're able to back out. The store itself isn't too big. Service was rather quick. The prices are likely standard but definitely a premium versus the other cafes. (e.g. think $7 for small cup). I've visited this store many times. Coffee: variety of selections. Loved their NOLA coffee line. Tastes great. Food: tried the croissants, plain and chocolate, and other pastries. Always fresh and crunchy. Love their small chocolate bar (the white one next to cashier). Ordered a lot through the app and get it ready as it says on the app. Sometimes it gets busy, but staff is friendly and helpful, trying to make the order fast. Stopped in for a cappuccino and a matcha latte on one of the recent rainy days here in LA. Limited seating inside and obviously no one wanted to sit outdoors, so it was a cozy hang while a bunch of us ordered our drinks and stayed inside. The person at the register seemed a bit impatient/annoyed while we were deciding on our drinks, but I understand how rainy weather affects the people in the city - it's not our favorite thing. Matcha latte was great and my husband enjoyed his cappuccino. There's merch for you to purchase if you like the taste of your coffee, or if you wanna rep BBC at home! I used to go to this Blue Bottle location pretty often as it is also right by a Trader Joe's. It is pretty minimalistic and a solid choice if you are looking to grab coffee to-go. This location is small and does not have any indoor seating. So, if you are looking for a place to sit down and get some work done, this Blue Bottle may not be the ideal location for you. Like other Blue Bottle coffee shops, this location has pretty good iced lattes and they offer milk substitutes upon request. If you have not had milk substitutes before and you are interested in trying, I would recommend going with oat milk (which replicates the creaminess of regular milk) or almond milk (which has a bit of a nutty taste). This is not an issue with this Blue Bottle in itself but I am not a huge fan of their savory pastries. Their savory pastries are a little too "heavy" for my liking and I can rarely have more than a couple bites. If you are looking for a bite to eat, I would recommend their liege waffles, which are syrupy treats - fluffy in the inside and crispy on the outside. read more

The quality of the coffee and food is much higher than other large chains and prices are in line with that. They have a bit of a transient issue but I think everyone in this area does now. This franchise just seems to ignore real people and again just reinforced its bubble of entitlement. Having won back my good faith after a fairly disastrous experience with a gift certificate, spent 20 minutes driving over, 10 minutes looking for parking... only to stand outside the door with about four other customers looking at a tiny sign that said that they were "closed from 6 AM until 2 PM" ??!!!- in the middle of the workday! Workers were completely ignoring customers outside, just sort of wandering around and doing some sort of "inventory". SO: I'll just state the obvious: if you're a coffee joint whose primary target customers are in the morning and early afternoon, why on earth would you schedule your "inventory" during those hours over three days in the middle of the work week... Rather than just pay your workers a little bit extra to stay after hours or at least towards the end of the day, so you're not inconveniencing several dozen customers who have no idea you've decided to do this until they've spent 20 minutes driving over, 10 minutes circling for parking, burnt all that gasoline, only to face a little tiny sign ... letting you know you just basically wasted 45 minutes and 5-10$ in gasoline ??!! I've never (in 35 years!!) seen Starbucks do this, never seen Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf do this, because they actually value customers time, money, and patronage. And if we're talking about "inventory" - let's be honest - the blue bottle stores are tiny in comparison to Starbucks and Coffee Bean... They offer far less have a much smaller menu, and hardly any merchandise. So why the heck do you need to take three whole days off in the middle of the work week? Again the overall vibe is just at this company takes itself way too seriously and spoils the heck out of there employees by not asking them to do this at a time that doesn't inconvenience customers who actually SUPPORT the business!!?! But apparently Blue Bottle is doing so well they need not bother themselves with mundane details like inconveniencing their customers during the work week. They just lost a regular customer.
