To be fair, the service was friendly, the drink was made quickly, and the shop itself seemed like a nice place to sit down and get some work done. The atmosphere was pleasant and I could see why people enjoy spending time there. Unfortunately, none of that could make up for the coffee. Sigh...this was a nice place for quiet evening options in the L.S. area, particularly for places that open until 9; however, they began hosting karaoke, open mic nights, and the like. Nice option, if this is your cup of tea, and understandable because they needed the business for the evenings. Kudos to them for getting more business this way. It appeals to the folks around here. Maybe, I'd find it appealing if a coffee shop had an open mic night for poetry and prose, sort of how the Beatniks did it in the late 50s to 60s, but that's just me.

The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Although milk tea is not on the menu per se, it is available. So milk tea with boba. Cool beans! The server brings out this big cup of milk tea with the perfect ratio of tea to boba. Boba was a little soft for me, but it was still good. Spring roll time! I decided to get shrimp as the meat choice for the vermicelli rolls, and boy, they don't skimp on the shrimp! Hearty shrimps in the vermicelli spring rolls. A word of caution, pour the peanut sauce onto the spring roll. Do not try to dip because the shrimps are big and heavy and have a tendency to want to fall out. The rice paper is freshly made, the veggies are fresh, no old edges to the lettuce, noodles taste good. Hubby says the shrimps are high quality too. Peanut sauce has fresh crushed peanuts on top. Yum!! Also their menu item named spring roll is a tofu version of their vermicelli rolls. Combo Pho time! Just as an FYI, where I am from, combination pho means a combination of different beef meats to include tendon, tripe, beef balls, and steak. This combo pho has chicken, shrimp, beef balls, and steak. I am not complaining though. For me the essence of pho is in its broth, so gimme some good broth and all is forgiven! A lot of pho shops mess up so they have either too much MSG that I am dying of thirst by the end of my meal, or too watery, or too rich of a broth where they boiled off too much of the water and you end up thirsty. These guys got it right! Good amount of saltiness, good beef flavor, and I'm happy to say that one would not need to add anything to the soup because the broth is tasty by itself. Service was good. I love that they have tap to pay. The open until 9 pm is awesome, especially since I am from a different time zone and I haven't acclimated yet. Room for improvement? There's a small little clearance section but nothing too impressive. Staff here was very warm and friendly I absolutely love the shirts and little souvenir keepsakes that you could get here. You're not going to find this at a typical touristy place. They even have a section where you can make your own ornament too which I thought was pretty cool. Overall, solid recommend for a place to check out.
