When checking in, after realizing that I initially checked in with the one at the kiosk in the middle of the mall, I quickly checked in again at this one. It's a little confusing when searching for the starbucks in Ala Moana to check in because it takes you to whichever one, until I read the reviews, I finally was able to find this one, next to Macy's second floor and across from the Lanai Food Court. When I went, there was no line, so I got my drinks fast. The drinks were mixed well, not too sweet or watery, so it was great to me. It's always busy at this starbucks, and it has tables on the outside, or if I'm eating at the food court, I can carry my drink in since there aren't very good caffienated or sweet drinks offered at the food court. Love the Lavender specials this month. Service was great, and workers were very friendly. It's also clean and lots of tables since it is across the Lanai food court next door, plus next to Macy's and other stores to shop at. read more

This used to be a Starbucks with really friendly, helpful, upbeat staff. Sure miss the former group of staff that unfortunately moved on, left for better and bigger things. They used to be involved with charities (angel tree, donations for school, etc) but not anymore. Now they have slow, quiet, half-asleep staff with no smiles or friendliness. Most of them rarely make eye contact or greet anyone. Former crew knew faces, names and even the usual drinks we order. Not the new crew. Have to repeat the order a few times (not ordering anything difficult) They only have one speed: slow. You have a question about any items that should have been released and available, their response is simply "whatever we have out there...is what we have" (dull tone, no personality, no friendliness). Really? Because the past crew used to at least look inside the cabinets or to see if any of the items have been delivered. Totally clueless and uncaring. I had to ask them which one because there are so many Starbucks that pop up in the Yelp app. Holiday drinks are available along with holiday cups. This is the Starbucks inside of Macy's Ala Moana across from the Lanai Food Court. I come to this location a lot. Actually, I go to many Starbucks a lot. I like to complete my challenges to get stars. Sometimes the line is long here, sometimes it's not depending on the time of day. I've always received great service from the baristas. They're efficient, nice and never messed up an order. The only thing that I don't like about this place is that there are no tables or chairs on the inside to utilize. They have seating on the outside, but it's usually hot. I just grab and go from this location. If I need somewhere to sit I just take it across the way to the food court where it's air conditioned. read more

My sanity stability... One of the earlier Starbuck to enter the mall they do share the space with Macy's and though don't have the usual indoor seating to work, study or chill does have that neighborly convenience with the food court next door. At one point it wasn't my favorite location as they staff there seemed like they needed the extra shot more than we do so unfriendly and just more into talking among themselves than working so I did avoid it until recently. Yes those staff are no longer there and these current ones are a true delight I don't make my drinks super crazy just the usual with milk alternative and usually bring my personal cup. Did you know you not only get ten cents (in return for using their cup) but an additional 25 stars! That's a huge bonus to be eco friendly which is great and does makes me feel like I make a difference and every bit counts. This is probably my least favorite Starbucks location. It is located in Ala Moana shopping center right next to Macy's. The inside of the Starbucks is very small, there's no seating and basically just takeout only. When we came, it was extremely crowded. Wait times are long, only ordered a lemonade and had to wait over 30 minutes. They are severely understaffed. This location also had no straws or napkins. Will not be returning. read more

I came to this Starbucks, at the entrance of Macy's, with Queen Bee Kyra K. and Queen Fierce Mila E. This location was actually a regular stop for me when I did photography in the area. As we walked in... we were greeted with a line and people standing around for their orders. This is not a sit-down location per se, so expect a location filled with a rave vibe. Ordering is typical, as we ordered at the counter, I presume mobile orders are available as well. Service was cordial and fast considering how busy. I ordered seasonal Peppermint Mocha, Mila the Thai Walls (only in Hawaii), and Kyra ordered her "Kyra special". Thanks again Bee for the needed boost! While waiting there's lot's of retail merchandise to peruse and that's what Mila did - adding Hawaii mug to her collection. In the end, Queen Bee resolved her honey issues at the Apple store and Queen Fierce got her Le Chic at Reformation! I never did find an Eminem cassette tape or heather gray hoodie! Many coffee options at Ala Moana Center to consider. Yet, Starbucks will always be there for that consistent cup of coffee. He knows me too well and asked if I was participating in a Starbucks Rewards Challenge. Indeed! I had recently signed up for a mocha promotional challenge and felt I could complete the challenge with the two mochas. My husband proceeded into The Lānai to place our lunch orders while I entered this Starbucks. This Starbucks is located at the Macy's entrance facing The Lānai. Upon entry, I noticed one person waiting for his order and another twosome placing their order. Yippee, I could see there would be a short wait time because there was hardly a line ahead of me, and several staff members were on duty. When it was my turn to order, the barista greeted me with smiling eyes and a friendly tone. Within a few minutes, my order for two Venti iced mochas was ready for pick-up. They're always so quick and efficient. I placed a mobile order for two peppermint mochas and went in the store immediately after. I stood in line behind just one customer to purchase holiday gift cards. Before that customer even finished her order , the barista was already calling out my name!! They usually have 2-3 employees working and they all seem totally dialed in on their jobs. Additionally, I see the same faces working which tells me there's stability with the staff . Even when there's a long line, they seem to get the orders out within 2-3 minutes with genuine good attitudes. Atmosphere: Oh yeah this one hits the OMG spot. Located in the back of the beautifully renovated lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel, this locale gets as comfortable as you'll find in a coffee house. Plenty of tables and chairs and yes they have outlets so you can charge your device while charging your brain matters with a double expresso with a splash of expresso. 1 star bc, I ordered a venti caramel frappe w caramel walls. The drink looked perfectly fine until I sipped it. It tasted TERRIBLE, but I'm not one to ask the barista to remake it so I mixed it in hopes it'd taste better. It still didn't turn out the way I usually order it. I drank almost all of it bc I was thirsty. The next day, I was feeling very unwell. My stomach started to ache, but I thought nothing of it. As the day progressed, so did my stomachache. My friend, Dear Daniel, asked me if I had one yet... not yet... ah... he knows how to lure me out to Honolulu... LOCATION Inside Macy's at Ala Moana Shopping Center on the Mall level, across from the "new" food court, "The Lanai". This Starbucks is on the smaller side. Luckily, there's outside seating and several table and chair options inside The Lanai. The Crystal Ball Frappuccino is topped with whipped cream and green sugar crystals. I've seen photos of this drink with purple sugar crystals...hmmm...well, green may be better because it's for food luck! The beverage itself was like a peaches and cream smoothie... not too sweet, but is more of a dessert since it's rather filling. Dear Daniel got plain coffee and a free refill because he has a Gold Starbucks card. Good deal! I need a coffee now... Haha! This location is convenient, but crowded. There are many Starbucks in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and this one is adjacent to Macy's. It has no indoor seating; however, there are many table seating just outside of it. Unfortunately, most of the times, they are almost always fully occupied. Therefore, this place is more or less a buy & go type. As for the quality of their coffee, they are pretty similar to the other Starbucks, except they do have condiments area for self-help to custom your drinks to fit your taste. read more

A convenient location that is located next to Macy's. The only Starbucks sign you'll see is from the parking lot side, which is just above the door. But you can't see it from the parking lot because HOPA has their stand blocking the view. Also from the Lanai, there's no signage. Today I think the barista got up on the wrong side of the bed. She wasn't as friendly as most baristas. But I over looked it cause one of the cash registers was down and there was someone there helping to fix it (and was in the way a lot) so I guess you can't blame her. Anyway, I still love my Starbucks. Don't care for this one as much as I do at the others. Guess it's because the seating is outdoors only, so no a/c sitting area, it's one of the smallest Starbucks, and when there's a long line...you feel like a sardine. How convenient! I love that this Starbucks location is just outside of Macy's on the second floor. Or, I should say "attached" because there's actually an entrance into the coffee shop from the Cosmetics department. If you're doing a walk-in appointment at the Benefit Brow Bar, the chances of grabbing a Starbucks drink sooner than getting your name called for brow waxing are good! Because of its convenience, it is often times busy especially on the weekends. It's a small shop, just big enough to house a line of customers, display tumblers, mugs & coffee, and enclosed so you can cool off in the A/C while waiting to place your order. I keep coming back to this particular location because of its location to the parking lot and department store, and their selection of sandwiches and sweet treats, which are always fully stocked. Service is always good. Drinks are always great. And there's plenty of tables and chairs if you'd like to enjoy your cup of Joe outdoors. read more

First off I'm a patron of Starbucks almost every single day. This was by far one of the worst experiences I ever had at ANY Starbucks location. I usually like coming here because of the staff, and they're normally pretty quick. It's been a min since I came here and the crew is different. The line wasn't to long, but being that you need to stand "6ft" apart makes it look long. My family and I waited for about 5mins before we decided to just order it through the app. Mobile orders moved quick. We ordered a total of 3 drink: - Venti Pink Drink - Venti Chai Tea Latte - Grande Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso What I am used to seeing at this location is that they put mobile orders on the ledge next to the espresso machine. So when my iced chai latte was done another mobile order came out at the same time with hers. They put my drink where you would normally get your drinks instead of their "mobile order" are and hers was placed on the "mobile order" ledge. I guess that was done so we could tell the difference, and it was my fault I didn't read the name. So I took a sip and I realized it wasn't mine and mine was still on the counter. I tired around to the girl that was waiting and said "omg are you Taylor?" She responds confused like how did I know her "Yes." And I quickly apologized for ACCIDENTALLY taking her drink and she kept saying "its okay" I felt horrible of course so I quickly told the barista with the pink hair and glasses, that I was so sorry I took her drink by ACCIDENT, and she said you can just take it. Jade comes up to the drink pick up area and waves her hand in a move along motion and with an annoyed tone and says "can you throw it away" and Taylor says no girl just drink it. I felt bad throwing it away. But Jade insisted on me throwing it away! She points to the trash can and says "throw it away" like okay fine. My daughter took a sip of her drink as we waited for our last drink and Jade says out loud "put your mask on" or "don't take your mask off in here" some where along those lines and with an attitude. I didn't realize it was a big deal to take a sip of your drink as you wait for the rest of your order. There is no sign that says to not consume drinks while waiting. My daughter did not completely take her mask off her face it literally pulled down right below her bottom lip to take a sip. Once she said that I watched Jade glancing over at us, rolling her eyes and that was it! The last drink was completed and when I went up to grab it I said to her "you need to change your attitude" and almost walked out, I turned back to look at her and she immediately turned to the girl with pink hair laughing and about to talk smack! Hey you signed up for this job, you agreed to the hours you work, BUT if you're going to give attitude to me or my family maybe even others, you need to quit and find another job. In the past I've found that Starbucks that are not stand-alone locations can tend to be underwhelming. The Starbucks located in most airports and Targets make me wonder where they do their hiring, so I initially had low expectations for this Starbucks which is located in Macy's on the second floor in Ala Moana. I've recently become a regular in this location, and I'm super impressed with the baristas at this location in their ability to multi-task, efficiently get orders out in a timely manner and courteously serve a multi-lingual clientele with little to no chaos. The store is well stocked and orderly, and regardless of what time of day you go in, you most often can find whatever treat you're looking for. Baristas and other Starbucks staff from other locations that have made me filled with sadness could take a lesson from the greatness going on here. read more

I went in today a little past lunch after putting my mobile order. They made one of my drinks wrong as it needed cinnamon on top. I could not take the lid off as the drink would most definitely spill since it was over poured (Frappucino). The guy remade it and handed it out with the cinnamon this time but without the Cookie crumble topping and didn't even decide to tell me they ran out before remaking it. I got the frappucino because as the name implied, Mocha cookie crumble frappucino. I asked for the crumble topping and he just says, "Sorry, we're out.". I don't think they even put the proper amount of Frapp base syrup because the frappucinos were not smooth like other times. It had ice chunks in it. It was made by a new barista I have never seen before, who I believe was named "Adam". These drinks were SUPER dilute, all they tasted was of water and of milk. I told "Adam" to make them again because I sincerely did not appreciate coffee drinks without the taste of even an ounce of coffee. He made them again and the drinks did NOT improve at all. He gave me an attitude... Today, I ordered an iced peach green tea lemonade with light ice (along with refilling my camelbak with iced water). A few moments later, I asked if I could refill my camelbak with iced water. I attempted to ask OTHER Starbucks stores in the Ala Moana Center, before returning to this store due to knowing the consequence of so many baristas' attitudes... however, these other Starbucks stores ran out of water :(. Presently there is only one Starbucks at Ala Moana. This one that is an appendage to the Macy's at the east end of the mall. This location is very busy since it is the only one at the complex. There are plenty of coffee options to choose from, they are just not named Starbucks. The store square footage is small. This is definitely a to-go location as there is very little seating inside the store. There are a few tables that are located right outside as well as a few areas to sit nearby (though not in an enclosed space). Despite the store being crowded, the staff does a good job of moving the line along. I came here to take advantage of a Starbucks Rewards BOGO promo for their sandwiches and salads. I was concerned that they would not have these items available since the store is so popular, but fortunately I found them in the refrigerated case. I did also notice that they sell bags of Kona coffee (not sure if 100% or a blend) here for visitors looking for souvenirs to bring home from Hawaii. If you are looking for a place to work from or unwind, this location is not your place. You would be better off going to the Barnes & Noble Café downstairs since they serve Starbucks also. If you really need a Starbucks pick-me-up, this is your only option at the moment at Ala Moana. Though I believe a new location at Center Court is opening soon. I would only suggest coming here if you must absolutely have coffee from Starbucks. Otherwise, there are plenty of other (better) coffee places to go to nearby. read more

This Starbucks line is always sooooo long. It's not that the baristas aren't busting their butts, because they are. I guess since the seats Starbucks closed, it congests this Starbucks even more. The cashiers are pretty nice for the most part. One time, I had a less than fantastic experience because one of the baristas was being pretty rude about getting me an iced water. Long story short, I was willing to take a water that no one had picked up from the counter, but he made kind if a fuss about giving me my own. Except the one he have me had someone else's name on it. But he insisted.... It was weird. Anyways.... I like that there is a variety of seating options, however, you can hardly ever find a seat since there are just so many people. You come here to much" Thats exactly how it was for me. The morning baristas are amazing, they've confirm with me while I'm in a long line or start making my usual. So once I pay Its ready! I've been a gold card member forever.. so I'm happy before the app created the preorder feature. I would have my drink ready because of the amazing baristas. About my coffee, I usually get a grande Iced Soy white mocha with no whip. When I get my free one, I would get a Venti and one of my favorite barista who no longer works there will tell me to add 2 extra shots of espresso. I was so awake those days lol. For teas, I usually get a Strawberry or Raspberry black tea with Thai walls.. (it's strawberry or raspberry syrup with condensed milk on the border of cup) when you mix it up the raspberry one comes out in a pretty pink! The strawberry one is a little darker pink but not as vibrant color as the other. It's sweet! So if you have a major sweet tooth like me you'll love it. FOOD: I use my rewards to get the protein bistro box, that ones my favorite. For breakfast, (thanks to one of the other barista who I went to school with.. sorry I won't give names, he introduced me to this) the slow roasted ham and swiss croissant Omg it's so good!!! The turkey pesto is my go to also and if you want a "healthy" choice the spinach feta wrap is good! (egg whites and spinach, feta in a wheat wrap) When my sb email sends me special promotions, I'm always there for my extra stars. hahah I know so bad. This location is usually very very busy! They have everyone on that side of the mall and people from my old job at the Ala Moana pacific building going there. Beware they will have a long wait. Sb is life... This is why I never go to any Starbucks at Ala Moana. Ever. I remember my first time here was December 2010. My mom and I were Christmas shopping and decided to get some coffee to re-energize ourselves. I ordered a Grande Caramel Macchiato. The coffee tasted so nasty. It tasted like watered down coffee and wasted $4-5 dollars. I could of went upstairs and bought myself better coffee at the honolulu coffee company. I think it was because of so many people that day. So, I've gave them another chance and went about 4 months after and ordered my same drink. Yet, again, My drink still tasted the same as I remembered it. I don't know if it's the workers or their recipe down there. I was so turned off. Never again. I read the other reviews on this location and I can feel on this. There are two Starbucks in Alamoana. One is located in Macys and one is Sears. Two completely different sides of the mall. The one thing I noticed that these two Starbucks have in common is that they are ALWAYS BUSY! Now don't get me wrong, this does not necessarily mean that the workers are slow, its just there are a lot of people at the mall who want coffee. GRR. This is honestly very frustrating for me when I'm on a time crunch for work. Sometimes I try to grab coffee before work or on my breaks. Honestly with these two locations being so busy, I just don't even bother. It sometimes is just not worth the time for me when I'm in a rush. read more

This is for the location inside Macy's across from the lanai food court. Been coming here almost everyday for about a month since I started working in the mall. I come in the morning around 7. In work uniform. Driest good morning greeting you'll ever get. And they still ask me for my name and what I'm having. I haven't deviated from my name or what I have. Every single time. It's the opposite of "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. I work in customer service and to me this is offensive. We should've by now developed a friendlier relationship. Am I that forgettable? Lol. It's the most convenient location, and has the most seating available. So it's kinda convenient. But I think I'm gonna go somewhere else from now on. read more
