I have been working in the Empire Center for almost 4 years now. I visit this Starbucks almost every single day and every time I come in and CJ is working, I get excited. It's hard not to ! He has the best energy, ALL THE TIME . He is always enthusiastic, smiling, helpful, and he's funny ! And, if you go here consistent enough, he remembers you and your order. (Something that I think a lot of people appreciate about their barista.) This location is fairly clean and the rest of the staff is very nice, as well. Starbucks is...well it's Starbucks. Service 5/5: Everytime I come here, I'm greeted with a smile and I never feel like I'm a bothersome to them. Everyone is friendly and helpful, so can't complain about service here. Drinks 5/5: At this specific location, I've never had a problem with my drinks. I sometimes have a complicated order and it's always made super tasty. My recent go-to drink is a triple shot with 5 pumps white mocha and a splash of cream. When I am not in the mood for coffee I get the green tea iced latte with soy milk and they are super generous with the match (which is always a good thing, the drink doesn't lack flavor) unlike many other Starbucks I go to. read more

I usually come to this particular location because I like the seating but I've had about enough of the poor service. I'll have to look for a different location to frequent. Every once in a while there will be a nice barista but the lot of the them aren't friendly, and consistently handing out drinks where the contents have spilled all over the cup - making the cup sticky. They also don't pay attention to the customized orders - when a latte is ordered warm, it should be at a drinkable temp, not piping hot but time and time again they make them too hot when they're being ordered at "warm". Out of all the Starbucks I have ever visited I hate this one it's unfortunate because it's less than 300 feet from where I work the girls at that location have the worst attitude. There is one gentleman that works there that has the best attitude ever and if it wasn't for him I probably would stop going there. Employee named "Astra" apparently left behind a receipt from previous customer. When I picked it up and was about to give it to her/him/them, the employee very aggressively reached out to me and ripped the receipt from my hand before I could say anything. 1) I was going to give the receipt, because I understand how important privacy is, not to mention it's their fault for leaving behind a receipt. 2) the most appropriate action would've been to apologize for leaving the receipt unattended and ASK FOR IT. I considered making a comment on the spot, but I heard some horror stories about vengeful baristas, so decided not to make a fuss about it. But as someone who works in customer service - I would've at least been put on a write up for a stunt like that. Toby, on the other hand, made one of the best drinks I've had at starbucks, so that's something worthy of recognition. Astra makes me want to avoid being served by him/her/them etc. read more

Starbucks was packed, but there was no line. Friendly customer service. The Pink Drink at a sip was completely amazing. It's just coconut milk, strawberry juice and like a fresh sliced strawberry.... But so exotic and natural. I like it. I love it. It's much prettier than the photograph too. What else? They don't have the ingredients for The Mermaid yet. It's a specialty drink like The Unicorn. They placed my butter croissants in a bag with one of my drinks, a few min to by I asked if those are mine and they say "Yea" but I let them know I have a few drinks missing and the girl said "Uhm I'm working with two hands here" like excuse me ! Once you see Payless Shoes, turn into the parking lot and keep going straight to the other section of the plaza. This Starbucks is so convenient when I am shopping at the Empire Center Shopping complex. It is tucked way in the back. Parking at times can be challenging, but there are a lot of spots in the lot. They have a lot of tables out front and even umbrellas so you don't bake in the Valley sun. Meh. I can't stay away from this place when I get pedicures over at Polished in the Empire Center. I had a bad experience here when they gave me a pastry and it fell right out the bottom of the bag. One of the employees made a rude comment that "oh, there must be holes in all the bags!" as if I was a liar. A friend that I had run into here at the same time was appalled at her comment. I was given another one and the other bag she gave me DID have a hole in that one too. I guess being right all the time ranks up there for these Starbucks employees I went in there today to get an iced coffee. I'm not a Starbucks person and since the only coffee shop at the Empire Center was Starbucks i had no other choice .. so a friend and i walked in...... The place was full but the two workers already had helped everyone else out .. This review is solely to showcase the man himself , CJ ! I just left this location and immediately jumped on yelp to rave about this earth angel, and saw at once that he is in many other reviews already. That shows a lot. When I walked in I had a serious case of the "ummms" where I had no idea what I wanted. CJ was the gentleman working the front and immediately started giving me suggestions. He was funny, witty and immediately I thought "my goodness, I want to fold his man up and put him in my pocket to bring everywhere with me" haha. My birthday reward wouldn't show up on my card for some reason, and he pulled whatever strings he needed to and had me walk out with my free drink anyway. He has left me in a happy and giggly mood upon leaving , which is amazing because I was actually having a rough day up until this point. He is absolutely the model employee and I am hoping that if he hasn't been already, he is seriously thanked from the higher ups in Starbucks. Julia has a serious attitude problem that is in desperate need of attention. I was joking with her about how the "Bundle and Go" wasn't really a deal and how it would be cool if it was an even $10. She's very cold and maintains a posture that's not customer friendly. Either she's suffering from delusions of grandeur or she really hates her job. Either way, management at this store should really take a look into how this individual interacts with customers and train accordingly. read more

Great employees, like CJ, make or break a customers experience and because of him I had a wonderful one. I stopped in here with my husband and 8 month old son. My husband got our drinks while I tried to change my son. I asked CJ if they had changing tables in their bathrooms but unfortunately they don't. He personally walked me over to an establishment that did and apologized profusely for not having one. Shame on Starbucks for not being family friendly. One of the nicer Starbucks locations. Parking can be a pain depending on when you come. The service is friendly here but the first time I came my cold brew was too watered down and the other day there was not enough coconut milk in it - which they happily topped off for me. My favorite aspect of their customer service is how extremely nice EVERY single employee has been. I was absolutely shocked to have been given such attitude by "Jessica" while ordering my drink. I wasn't going to write a review based on the fact that when I've come to this Starbucks they've often gotten my order correct. However, today is the third time in two months that they've gotten the size of my drink wrong, even after I've repeated it two or three times because they repeated back incorrectly. I'm not sure how the word "venti" sounds anything like "grande" but apparently some employees are confused by this. Then after I left and got down the road to finally taste my drink it did not taste anything like a strawberry green tea lemonade. The barista obviously poured the grande into a venti cup and added more tea but didn't balance it with the lemonade, so it tastes bitter and not sweet enough. Looks like I'll go out of my way and head to a different Starbucks next time. I have been coming to this Starbucks for a while and it has always been a great experience. But today I need to really acknowledge their awesome customer service. I had to order drinks for the office...13 drinks in all. I called the Starbucks closest to me and they did not answer their phone. I called this one...Armen promptly answered the phone, told me "no problem," took all the orders and had them boxed up and ready to go when I got there. He even carried it out to my car. LAST time I used them, I was trying to order those coffee-to-go packs. FIVE other Starbucks told me "no, we don't have those" or "oh, we brew them super early so they probably won't be very hot" --- but this one in the Empire Center, said "no problem!"
