I told her I specifically requested water with ice. That's all I drink, I don't drink plastic bottled water, yep, she replied, we won't be doing that for you in the future. Came for the street Tacos- YUM! Kids wanted a different drink- so Village Coffee was a good option. But this will be my last purchase. If I want ICE WATER, and willing to pay, gimme a break. AND DO NOT CALL ME HON! Seriously, rude! It's very warm inside, and they do not make it welcoming that's for sure.

Village Coffee is serving up some seriously divine and completely guilt free coffee. Why guilt free? Their coffees are all 100% free trade, organic, and nonGMO. AND (!!), Tuesdays are discount days in The Village and so the Tuesday I was there they were offering their coffees at buy one, get one half off! They have plenty of seating and even have a lovely fire feature you can sit by if you so choose. Plus, in finer weather, there is outdoor seating as well. Bonus reasons for fandom: They serve BOTH a Salted Caramel Mocha and a Mexican Mocha! How to choose? Both are like Autumn in a cup. They have some particularly tasty looking cinnamon rolls (I was just there for coffee but would definitely like to give the cinnamon rolls a try next time!). And, finally, you can order ahead, my people! Just bop over to their website coffeeatthevillage.com and click "order online" and they'll have your swirling cuppa goodness ready when you get there! Get to it!

As usual, we were instantly greeted. I got the same drink as I did last time. The lychee starfuit was good so why change to something different? I did it very half sweet this time around. I'm trying to watch my sugar intake. My neice got a mango fruit tea and my sister for a creme brulee milk tea. My tea was good even though it was half sweet. I do recommend it at it's fullest potential on how it's made. It's self torture having it half sweet. I did half a taste of my niece's mango tea, so good! She also had popping boba in her drink too, tasty! My sister's drunk was very very very good! Sweet and creamy. I wish I can order milk tea but since I can't have dairy I can only do a couple sips here and there. Today's visit was legit. I'm sure I will be back sooner than later since my sister has been frequenting this joint. Next time I will be definitely trying another flavor of tea!

As soon as I walked up, I saw a photo of a delicious-looking drink on the door and knew I had to try it. I went with the Dirty Cookie Milk Tea and added tapioca--absolutely perfect. It was rich, creamy, and super sweet in the best way. I had been craving something indulgent, and this hit the spot completely. If you've got a sweet tooth and love creative, dessert-style drinks, Dolphin Tea is definitely worth a stop! They also have fruity drink options that would be more than refreshing on a hot day.

The service (thanks to Riggen) was as sparkling as the donut case and interior of the shop is clean and although we planned to share a donut, we found much to our surprise that they make cinnamon rolls too. Have they always and we just didn't notice? Regardless, today one of those was our choice. My 100% Italian heritage husband who grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn never has quite warmed up to cinnamon rolls, a staple of my WASP Portland-Seattle upbringing so it is usual that if we order one to share then I will get the lion's share. But as we sipped our Americano's and enjoyed this one, I nearly had to stab his hand with my plastic fork to keep him from eating some of my half. Another great surprise on this visit was their donut holes, offered in a bag and little clear container, made with their sour cream cake donut batter! Samples were offered on the counter and SO good that I thought about picking up a container before we left but a woman came in while we were eating and sipping, tasted the sample and bought the bag and every one of the six or seven containers of them to take away with her. Yes, they are that good. Other details in my previous review comments from 2023. If you want donuts, cinnamon rolls, expertly made hot Americano and with warm service in a sparkling space playing of-the-day FM music at the just right level to know it is there but no so much as to compete with conversation this is the place. PS - ice cream by the scoop or pint or in milkshakes available too.

Two enterprising young women are owners of this gem of a popular West Bench neighborhood gathering…read morespot that they created in what was an old dump of a 1950's era strip mall space and funded in part with crowd sourcing. Being curious since they opened this in Fall'ish 2024 and finding myself in the neighborhood, this was a destination stop for my husband and me when we went in about 11:30 on a weekday for coffee and a nosh. Pride of ownership shines in the clean and funky feeling interior and it is clearly popular because it was full, almost every seat, of people that seemed from the neighborhood, including a number of parents with young children. They advertise this as coffee and market, but I honestly didn't notice the market part, in that things for sale didn't jump out at me. That may have been because I was just trying to navigate to a seat in and out in the crowded space. THE MO: Coffee and the limited menu for food is ordered at the counter, carry to your seat and bus your own when finished. Although we were the only people at the counter and there were two people in the kitchen, it took quite some time for someone to come to take the order, although once someone finally saw us, they were pleasant, if not welcoming, in taking the coffee order and then again when my hubby went back to order pastries to go with it. MENU: Coffee, other beverages and a very small option of eats is listed behind the counter and on a paper menu there. Options included soup of the day and Gaston's bakery pastries. There were some breakfast sandwiches by local provider Poppyseed Bakery in the fridge section, we weren't told about them but seeing them when passing by the fridge on a trip to the loo, asked if they could be heated and were told they could be. We chose a couple of pastries ($5.50 each) and were reminded why we seldom buy Gaston's products for being too buttery and one note. The cortado ($4) were good. I noticed a woman at the table across from us who was sipping a beverage and eating what looked like a sandwich she had carried in. I don't know if that is part of allowable stuff or not. The pottery used for all of their coffee service, ours and the mugs at other tables, is great. AMBIANCE: They did an admirable job here of making this light and bright and just funky enough with pride of ownership and loving care in maintenance sparkling through. Seating includes a few level in, not step up, booths along one wall, a sofa and chairs near the front and many standard height tables and chairs (maybe too many when all full as getting to seat is tough) and a play area for kids in the corner. It had far less comfortable 'breathing room' space than I anticipated from photos. But I didn't take interior photos to post because I think it is rude to do that when lots of people are going to be in them who maybe don't want to be. ;-) LOO: There are two and both are uni and sparkling clean with great murals on the wall and good plumbing fixtures. My husband even pointed out the "cool" sink. Both are ADA compliant so kudos to them for that. (Yes, it is law and code but you'd be astounded by how many ignore both.) ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot right outside the door. (There are too few spots for the parking lot but that is not the coffee shop owners' failure. That is the lot owner's issue.) Level in the door. All on one floor. The tables would probably work for a wheelchair user to roll under. But it would be near impossible, based on my experience yesterday (I have had multiple sclerosis since age 20 and sometimes use a wheelchair) for a wheelchair user to get between tables and chairs for a clear path of travel to get to seating or the loo.

The main wall was very colorful and bold! I appreciate that everything else about the joint was simple. The simple decor on the merch shelf. The simple tables and chairs. The main thing that caught my eye was the pretty light fixture. I love unique lighting. Everything flowed nicely together! I was instantly greeted by a cute barista behind the counter. She let me check out the drink menu for a bit. I went there for a pumpkin spiced Chai and as fun as it sounded to try something different, I stuck with my original plan. It was later in the afternoon so it was pretty chill. My drink was made pretty quickly. I grabbed a table to sip on it for a bit. Boy was it good! It tasted just like the one I had last week. It was sweet and spicy in spices. I really like the almond milk that they use. It's so creamy and rich. It's the perfect drink for us fall loving folks! My drink made my day today. I also got a cute sticker from the barista. They have them out for you to grab which was cool. The venue is so chill and the staff is great! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there.
