I'm a long time fan and customer, having many free things with my stars. The staff at the locations I frequent know me and are very friendly; even friendly with other customers who mightnot be regulars. They lose stars because of how politics and the cancel culture have found their way in and have influenced things. They also used to be more supportive of Veterans, even hiring Vets a lot, but not now. When politics get involved in a business, the business becomes biased and caters to those whose politics match whatever is the mood of the Starbucks day. On the food side, however, my favorite Matcha frap is always excellent and carefully made to my specifications. read more

Brightly light , clean and decorated too! On our way to the Pride Parade on Saturday morning and had time to kill so my hubs and I stopped by. It's been awhile since we've been In so I ordered my drink incorrectly but it was still refreshing. This location was kinda of island in the neighborhood. What struck me the most was the associates. Friendly and welcoming. Now, there was a gentleman that might have been homeless inside enjoying a drink. I only guess he was as he asked if we could purchase a cake for him. My better have did and it's probably discouraged but the young lady helping us was graceful about handling the situation and the way she spoke to him. I went in for regular drip coffee. I didn't immediately see where it was on the menu so when I asked the cashier started to look at her register to read it to me but I found it on the menu board. The staff seems unfamiliar with their own set up. This location does not brew decaf. When I ordered a half-caf I was told it would be at least a five minute wait. If I didn't have time for that I'd have to pay for an Americano (costs ~33% more). I asked which of the three available brews has the least caffeine so instead of just answering me she proceeded to tell me the relative caffeine content of all three, starting with the strongest, making sure to explain that even though it has a darker color that brew has less caffeine. A simple question turned into a memorized script. I ordered a medium, she charged me for a large, when I pointed that out she explained that the medium is that largest size listed on the menu. You have to use the exact words, they seem unable to understand that, of the three sizes, the middle one is the default medium When she got the coffee she didn't just pour it from the dispenser, she went over to the side away from the register and I heard what sounded like her grinding coffee beans and it took several minutes for her to return. I ended up being so jacked on caffeine and jittery for hours that I suspect she actually gave me the most she could. Maybe as punishment for the extended interaction ? They also insist on pouring the half and half by request at the counter because people have "dirty hands." If you want cream know that they don't ask if you want room for it (had to pour some out in the trash as it was filled to the brim) and you may have to wait in line again for it if they are busy. The whole experience, that I thought would be a simple cup of coffee, was a tedious gauntlet of ineptitude. If you order anything that isn't basic, or have questions, be prepared to spend some time. You might have to walk them through their own menu and watch them carefully to make sure they are serving what you actually ordered. read more

I try to drink local coffee when I can because I love to support local flavor but this Starbucks location is pretty special. I started to hit it up back when I was working because it was close to my house and en route to my job (it had just opened then) and the drive thru was insanely convenient! But then I started to notice something. No matter how long the line gets here (and it can get a little long - it's close to UNM and UNMH), the line always moves really quickly and the orders are always 100% right. But it's not just that. The staff is friendly every single time. I mean, they have to get frazzled during the rush hours but they never show it! They are always pleasant and seem happy to see you. It always makes for a great experience. And this is a newer location and it is gorgeous inside. Seriously gorgeous! read more

I know Starbucks cannot control the weather, but thank you for the outdoor seating when the sun is out and the temperature perfect. Just drove into town after a long drive and appreciated this roomy location with a lot of seating choice. Mid-day on a Thursday and there were a lot of people with the same idea. The Dragon Mangofruit is tasty (not too tart and not sweet to the taste). I like this for a change of pace. But it was a long trip so I also got my reliable iced green tea with no sweetener, extra ice. The ice did not last long, but barista was more than happy to add more before I left. The parking lot is somewhat small, but everyone seemed to get a spot due to the steady flow of people picking up and driving off. The drive-thru option here is highly popular and kept a steady steam of movement as well. read more

Super slow, especially for it being busy with people trying to get to work. Generally this Starbuck's is a bit slow. I've been coming here the last few years because it's on the way to work and the other one I used to go to, became super slow also. I got tired of being late for work because of Starbuck's. It should not take 20 minutes to get coffee in a drive thru, no matter where you go, and the day I came here, I did indeed, wait 20 minutes for a cup of coffee! As I've been doing, I think I'll skip Starbuck's and just make coffee at home. A little wizardry and it tastes comparable to my Starbuck's white mocha but at a fraction of the cost and in time to get to work on time. With that said, everyone has been really nice here and I will occasionally pop in when I don't have anything else scheduled. The coffee is good and the food is as well. Great depending on when you visit. It's a Starbucks so of course they're going to be packed during prime hours in the drive through. For my intended purposes, it's perfect. Nice walk from the Altura neighborhood and with a new baby ... it's the perfect date for me and my honey. Quick service, great beverage, and the break this momma needs. I went inside to order coffee and saw the most miserable Starbucks crew in my life. The chubby brunette girl at the cashier was mean, no smiles, no friendliness. She can't hear the order because of the mask. I don't even mind that, but she was just rude. The 2 other crew member that I saw looks miserable as I was observing them. I don't know what's going on here, maybe a management directive, but everyone working the drive-thru window has suddenly become aggressively "friendly" and asks personal questions in the brief interstice between payment and the coffee being ready. Indoors is different, I'd love to have a chat, but in a drive thru, no offense to the people working precarious jobs for low wages, I am hoping for a slightly more impersonal experience - I just want to exchange currency for coffee, say thank you, and leave. read more

This review is in regard to customer service, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have actually never been to this location, but it was convenient for my morning errands so I stopped by. As I was enjoying my bagel and coffee, I saw an elderly homeless woman enter the store, she was very dirty and struggling to carry the few bags she had containing her possessions. When she approached the counter the girl at the register was very warm and accommodating, the woman was treated with the same respect as any other customer. The woman placed her order and even tipped on the items she received. It made my day to be able to witness such kindness towards another human being, I wish I knew the team member's name, but whoever worked the register this morning (07/23/2021)....GREAT JOB!!! read more

This is an odd review, because normally I don't review such common chains. This review isn't about the quality of their beverages (I enjoy a nice, cheap, refillable iced green tea and a public environment with background noise in which to work, so I go here often - it's good tea as far as I can tell.) Anyways, I'm sitting in here right now. It was robbed early this morning, and I want to post this review to praise the employees and the district manager for how well they handled the situation and the immense professionalism they all displayed (and a shout out to APD for their quick response and the officers' professionalism). Stores will get robbed. It happens, it's unfortunate, and you shouldn't avoid this Starbucks because it happened. All small shops will get robbed every now and then. The employee who was the unfortunate target followed company policy regarding harm reduction - the thief got the pittance in the register. It happened so quietly I didn't know it had happened until I heard the employees calling 911 immediately after the thief left. Because of Starbucks policy and training and its implementation at this location, no one was harmed. That is above all the most important thing. And the business was able to remain open for the rest of the day with the employees functioning normally. The district manager came by, and I'm guessing he doesn't normally work Sunday mornings, to check up on everyone and make sure everyone was okay and inform them of Starbucks employee support programs following these incidents. He displayed immense care for the employees of this particular location. He spoke with me and the other customer who was still there from the time of the robbery. He was extremely professional, and displayed genuine concern for our well-being. He offered me complimentary food or beverage because of the ordeal which I had been oblivious to (which I declined - I also received no request or payment of any kind to write this review - I hope it doesn't hurt their business for people to know this one was robbed). Hats off to the brave employees and the district manager, and Starbucks as a corporation for having effective policies to protect their employees and customers from harm. Not an evil corporation. And at least locally, seems like a competent, brave, and compassionate one. Bravo. read more

This is just your ordinary Starbucks location complete with restrooms, wifi, and a drive thru. Expect the menu you would find at any other Starbucks. The reason why I give this place two stars is because at other locations the other employees at least greet you with a smile. The employees here act like you are waisting their time with no welcoming and with no enthusiasm; they are just there, and you are bothering them with your soy chai. The Starbucks belief of home, work or Starbucks is not felt here. My tip is to just stick with the drive thru -- that way you can get your order in and leave right away in order not to disturb the workers' boredom. read more

I used to really enjoy this starbucks. Unfortunately, I was very overcharged one visit. I ordered a tall earl gray tea and was charged $4. I knew that sounded wrong, so I mentioned it to the cashier, and they quickly blamed it on state tax and shut me down immediately. I'm aware of state tax, but I also know that $4 for a tall tea is outrageous. Will not be coming back here. read more
